At the training center, a figure was seen practicing kicks and punches toward a sandbag.

With each strike, the sandbag would sway wildly under the impact. It was hard to tell whether the sandbag could endure the strikes much longer.

And the striker behind this series of moves was none other than Zhao Kai. He was donned in a short-sleeved T-shirt and short pants, his forehead and neck drenched in sweat.

"Omo, your friend actually posted a selfie of himself with a girl."

Amidst his training session, his girlfriend, Lynette, suddenly exclaimed in a dumbfounded tone. She was seated from afar, dressed in casual clothing. Still, the casual clothing didn’t lessen her beauty or elegance one bit.

"Who?" Startled, Zhao Kai kept his motion fluid and asked. "Is it Ning Yi again? That bastard is quite heartless ever since he managed to be with Catherine."

When mentioning Ning Yi, he couldn’t help but feel used and betrayed.

He allocated some of his free time to give Ning Yi a lesson plan on how to lose weight. Yet as soon as the plan was made, Ning Yi went ahead to request Catherine to assist him.

He didn’t even get a single credit!

"Hmph, ignore his message." Zhao Kai clicked his tongue and hissed.

"I hope he loses Catherine and cries in an ocean of water."

An ungrateful person like Ning Yi didn’t deserve any happiness.

"Ning Yi?" Lynette raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"This message is from Xu Feng, though. We met previously at the Oasis Hotel and ate together." She explained.

"Say what?" Zhao Kai was alarmed and failed to control the strength in his punch. With a signal strike, the punching bag was punctured through, with the sand quickly leaking out from the exposed part.

Zhao Kai ignored the damage done and rushed over to Lynette’s side.

"Are you sure you didn’t see wrong?" He asked in a skeptical tone. It wasn’t that he doubted Lynette’s words, but he simply found it hard to believe Xu Feng would send him a picture of himself with a girl.

"I’m positive." Not offended by his question, Lynette flashed the phone to him.

This phone was his anyway, and she was merely using it to play some of the games.

Given their relationship and how transparent they were, it was only natural that she could use his phone whenever she wanted.

After all, Zhao Kai wasn’t a cheating bastard who had to hide things from her.

As soon as Zhao Kai saw the message sender and the photo, he was frozen solid like a statue.

"Kai? Hello?" Lynette waved her hand around his face a few times.

"Are you alright?" She asked in concern.

A few moments later, Zhao Kai snapped out of his daze and grabbed the phone from her hand. Afterward, he became a keyboard warrior, tapping rapidly on the phone.

Oasis Hotel

"Look, I’ve told you he would take a while to respond, and once he did, it would be like a bullet train." Xu Feng chuckled heartily and showed his phone to Carmen.

"You really know this buddy of yours well." Carmen giggled. Her head leaning warmly on his chest, her waist being held tightly by him.

"Let me see what he read."

Zhao Kai: Feng, what’s the meaning of this?

Zhao Kai: *Shocked Emoji* Isn’t that our Guild Commander... I mean, Demoness Carmen?

Zhao Kai: What did you do to her? Why did she trip and land on your chest? Did you scheme against her or something? We may be brothers, but I won’t forgive you if you want to bully her.

Zhao Kai: You’d better confess up, Feng! Scumbag are destined to die a horrible death!

Upon reading the series of comments, Carmen couldn’t help but look at Xu Feng with a wary gaze.

"Are you by any chance a womanizer?" She asked suspiciously. "Your friend here clearly has issues with your credibility."

"..."

"Don’t you know better than anyone that my credibility is sub-zero?" Xu Feng teased and kissed her on the cheek. "Besides, this is obviously Kai’s response to being in denial. He can’t believe I managed to get a girlfriend like you."

"Like me?"

"Mhmm, elegant, beautiful, charming, sweet, virtuous, naughty, and overall a complete package to what all men desire."

"Glib tongue," Carmen buried her face under his shirt, clearly embarrassed by the compliments.

If it had been said by other men, she would have been disgusted. But when it came from Xu Feng’s mouth, the whole meaning and feeling changed.

She knew perfectly well that Xu Feng was rarely the type to compliment others. And even if he did, it was always superficial and never sincere.

But the compliment he just said toward her was filled with genuine sincerity.

"Have you always liked me?" She suddenly raised the question. She found it hard to believe that he could spout out those adjectives in a heartbeat without any pauses if he didn’t feel like that for a long time.

And sure enough, Xu Feng came clean. He didn’t even bother to make any excuses or avoid her question.

"I was always interested in you since our first meeting." He replied, his eyes turning somewhat moist. The chance encounter from back then was truly like fate intertwining them together.

But it was precisely because he recognized her immediately that made him question his feelings and motives.

The approach was impure, so he had always been afraid of pursuing her.

One was because he didn’t know whether he truly loved her as a person or because of her value as the future infamous Demoness that ranked at the top in the Divine World.

This constant struggle was ultimately what made him unwilling to progress their relationship, until Carmen’s persistence, jealousy, and anger broke his will.

When Carmen finished listening to his explanation, she calmly pulled his collar and kissed him.

"I don’t really care about your motive. All I know is that your action and behavior toward me is pure. Your motive might be impure from the start, but you always placed my benefit at the top, right?" Truth be told, she nearly wanted to smack Xu Feng for being this stupid sometimes.
