Chapter 1244: Cunning Carmen

Shortly after Carmen gave the two a fierce scolding disguised as a lecture, the two of them became quiet.

"You’re right. It was impudent of us to come here unannounced and make such unreasonable demands." Zhao Xin took a deep breath and apologized.

"I didn’t mean anything bad. I was just addicted to the directing of the short drama and the cast’s acting skills." Feng Qing Rou also admitted her fault and explained.

Seeing how the two of them repented and apologized, Carmen didn’t bother to pursue the matter further. After all, she also knew that their behavior and treatment of Xu Feng wasn’t bad to begin with.

It was just that she didn’t appreciate their attitude toward someone who had clearly worked hard to achieve his current success.

"Since you two know your fault, let’s just move on," Carmen said and glanced at her phone.

"Although I also want to let you view advanced episodes, the editing team is still working hard on them. So, unless you want to watch half-edited or half-completed episodes, then you should wait for tomorrow."

"Ahh? You seriously only have 10 episodes available?" Feng Qing Rou frowned and felt deceived.

She thought the short drama had finished filming and editing already.

She had checked online that short dramas were usually completed within 1-3 days.

After all, they were low-budget productions and had fast-paced scripts that didn’t drag things to oblivion. Of course, there were still such garbage short dramas that dragged things just for rage-baiting, but the Vanguard Guild short drama was clearly not one of those.

"I’m sure the two of you already know that our short drama budget is way above the average as opposed to other short dramas. Moreover, the filming has too many valuable scenes." Carmen lightly explained. The casting process that Xu Feng conducted was simply too much.

All the actors they recruited were talented individuals who were suppressed because of their low backgrounds. To ensure each actor gets to shine properly, the directing and scripts were constantly being modified to give their character some life.

With these modifications, the first season could potentially end up with over 100 episodes.

Sometime later, both Zhao Xin and Feng Qing Rou became convinced that the Vanguard Guild was an evil cult.

"Who can wait for that long?" Feng Qing Rou sighed and wondered if she would become distracted once she logged back into the Divine World.

"Do you need more manpower? I can recruit more editors to help you finish the process." Zhao Xin suggested. She remained unaware that she had also become an addict and wanted to watch the short drama while eating some snacks.

"We have over 30 people in the editing team. It’s more than enough." Carmen smiled awkwardly. Every other film usually only has 5-8 people, but they have a whopping number of 30 or more people.

If this news were to spread, then people might call them crazy.

"How is that even possible?" Feng Qing Rou furrowed her brows. With that many people working, she refused to accept that they only got 10 episodes prepared.

"It’s possible when the editing team is swamped and constantly debating which scene to include in the episode." Carmen was equally helpless at this part.

She directed and filmed many great scenes, which, in turn, backfired deeply.

Other production companies struggled with finding good scenes, whereas they struggled with which scenes to include because of how great they were.

Such a situation was truly ironic!

"This is truly a first for me." Zhao Xin shook her head in defeat. To think that the episodes were being stalled because there were too many amazing scenes to include.

She didn’t doubt Carmen’s words either. There was no reason for Carmen to lie to her when she had already displayed such a domineering side.

Just when things were about to turn awkward, Carmen’s phone suddenly rang.

Startled, she retrieved her phone, and her eyes lit up.

"Oh my, the editing team is really dedicated." Carmen gasped and flashed a sly grin. "They all got excited by the ratings and the bonus reward that they edited a whopping 30 episodes."

"30 episodes more??!" Alarmed, Feng Qing Rou stood up excitedly. Her body trembled in excitement when she thought about being able to watch 30 more episodes.

"What are you being agitated for?" Carmen raised an eyebrow.

"The editing team has decided to increase the episode’s limit and include many scenes. But you still have to wait for tomorrow to watch episode 11."

Feng Qing Rou’s expression turned ugly. If it wasn’t for the fact that Xu Feng handed complete authority over to Carmen and played dead on the bed, then she really wanted to teach her a lesson.

"We’ve already agreed to your three demands." Zhao Xin chimed in.

"Ah, yes, I forgot about it." Carmen clasped her hands. "I got confused because I didn’t see you two treating Xu Feng with adequate respect. And this Miss Qing Rou’s expression isn’t quite pleasing."

"Qing Rou is just agitated. Do pardon her behavior. She’s, after all, the Silver Wind Guild Leader who cooperated with the Vanguard Guild in their early days." Zhao Xin tried to mediate.

However, it had little to no effect.

"I know she’s the Silver Wind Guild Leader, but I also know she’s not that reliable as an ally either." Carmen then brought up Feng Qing Rou’s decision to leave the Vanguard Guild to fend for themselves back when the Lethal Corp ambushed them.

"In our upcoming episodes, there are two different scenarios. One is where the Feng Clan betrayed the Xu Clan, and one is where the Feng Clan offered a helping hand to the Xu Clan. Which scene do you think is more appropriate to be broadcast?"

’What a devil...’ Zhao Xin was flabbergasted. She had thought Xu Feng himself was a cunning four-eyed enough, but to think even the women attracted to him were equally cunning.

By asking which one to broadcast, she was essentially asking them to offer hefty offerings to avoid the betrayal scene from being broadcast.

Feng Qing Rou was equally dumbfounded. She couldn’t decide whether she should be happy or angry to come here today. If she hadn’t, and the Vanguard Guild decided to broadcast the betrayal scene, then wouldn’t she be screwed?
