Chapter 1128: Vanguard Guild Vs Miracle Pavilion Part 3
Chapter 1128: Vanguard Guild Vs Miracle Pavilion Part 3
While Xu Feng was aware of the item, the same could not be said for the others.
"What is that crystal?"
Carmen had never seen such a crystal before, so she quickly asked Xu Feng for the details. It was almost a habit of hers now to always seek him for clarification.
"That crystal is so dark and clearly spells trouble!" She continued, trying to make a deduction.
"Haha..." Had it been anyone else who uttered such an obvious statement, then Xu Feng would have swatted them away.
However, it was Carmen, and he tended to be rather soft and lenient to her.
After all, it remained a fact that she had always been loyal and competent.
He couldn’t even imagine how much effort he needed to put in to build the guild to its current state if it weren’t for her presence.
Luckily for him, though, he didn’t need to explain what the crystal does this time.
After all, Luther was in a crazed mode as he shouted loudly. "This is a dark summoning crystal, capable of summoning a Tier 2 Demon from Hell! You are very good, Vanguard Guild! You have forced my hands to use this trump card!"
Instantly, the atmosphere turned cold, with many widening their eyes in disbelief.
A Tier 2 Demon from Hell?
"Commander Luther is amazing!"
"Holy smokes! The Miracle Pavilion actually obtained such an item?"
"The Vanguard Guild is doomed!"
Many reactions and responses consumed the battlefield, with many players pausing their movement to absorb the information.
Naturally, the monsters remained focused and continued to charge ahead, only to be blasted by another round of ballistic missiles.
Veronica couldn’t afford to be distracted, no matter the situation or unexpected variables. Her duty was to ensure the monsters couldn’t get far in their advancement.
"Keep firing and ignore what that sissy person shouted!" Veronica exclaimed loudly, completely labeling Luther as a sissy for being so emotional and irrational.
Those in charge of operating the ballistic weapon nodded their heads.
"Yes, Guild Captain!"
"Another shot being reloaded, total expense so far is around 64,000 Mana Stones."
When Veronica heard the total expense so far, there was an ache in her heart.
Although she tried to be frugal and made sure to fire only when necessary, they still ended up firing approximately 640 times.
The numbers looked staggering, but it was barely enough to contain the number of monsters and the enemies from advancing.
’Each shot is making a dent in our bank, and now the sissy even got another trump card...’ Veronica frowned. She had no idea how much more money they were going to burn.
While Veronica was fearful of the continuation of the battle, Carmen was excited, on the other hand.
"Guild Leader, he’s got a Tier 2 summoning crystal!" She pointed at Luther from a very far distance and said, "Shouldn’t it be my time to shine now? That has to be his last trump card."
Xu Feng didn’t respond right away. He was inspecting what type of summoning crystal it was.
Some summoning crystals were instant, whereas some required payment and took a while for the process to complete.
’So it’s an inferior version.’ Xu Feng sneered inwardly. He had distinguished the crystal in Luther’s possession to be the inferior version: it required a hefty fund and a long summoning type.
If it weren’t for the item scarcity at this current state, then what Luther had obtained would have been what they would have called a failed product.
Such an inefficient and expensive item was a laughing joke amongst them in the past timeline.
"Sorry—" Xu Feng was about to reject Carmen’s intention again to join the battle until he noticed her expression.
She was on the verge of crying; her expression painted an aggrieved woman who had been tormented.
"I can’t join it again?" Carmen’s lips trembled somewhat. There was a look of exhaustion and defeat surrounding her.
Seeing that, Xu Feng found himself incapable of rejecting her request.
"Fine, you can join, but make sure to listen well to my arrangement." He caved in and proceeded to give her multiple instructions.
Since she was going to join, it naturally couldn’t be done half-heartedly.
He wanted her to cause a man like Luther to cry a river of water!
A scene where even babies would have to surrender in terms of crying when faced with Luther’s cries!
Excited, Carmen nodded her head like an obedient kitty cat.
"Yes."
"Got it."
"Understood."
Carmen adhered to the instructions, unaware that their facial expression was no different than Xu Feng’s wicked mindset.
Unlike Xu Feng’s expert control of his expression, Carmen lacked the experience to control them. Thus, her wickedness and slyness were on full-blown display.
Luckily, she was facing him, and the other angles were blocked off. Otherwise, she might have just frightened her fellow members to death instead.
As the two busied themselves in the discussion, Luther had not paused his action one bit.
He activated the dark summoning crystal and proceeded to pay a heavy price.
500 gold coins, 500,000 Mana Stones, and a 10% reduction in experience points gained for the next 3 days.
500 gold coins were the activation fee. 500,000 Mana Stones were the cost of maintaining the summoning circle.
As for the 10% reduction, it was the fee for the Demon who would answer to the summoning call.
To summarize, it was an extremely heavy price to pay—one that Luther felt a sharp pain in the chest and heart when agreeing to the payment system prompt.
Shortly after confirming the payment, Luther instantly received the debuff.
"This is all that bastard Guild Leader Lin Feng’s fault!" Luther hissed coldly. His eyes glinted in a murderous cold light.
"Once the Tier 2 Demon arrives, I want to see how you’re going to struggle like mere ants!" He laughed wickedly.
Amidst Luther’s drunken-like state, a voice suddenly echoed behind.
"Oh my, what a beautiful formation!" Xu Feng clapped his hands and admired the scenery.
"Who?" Alarmed, Luther turned around, only to be astonished by Xu Feng’s appearance. But what caused his face to turn as pale as white was the figure behind Xu Feng, the crazed Demoness.
Carmen held a sly grin as she asked curiously, "Wouldn’t it be a great pity if the summoning formation is interrupted?"
