Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1100: CarnageBound’s Sudden Enlightenment

Chapter 1100: CarnageBound’s Sudden Enlightenment

As players continued to discuss Eclipse Nova’s actions, which circulated throughout the Divine World, the news finally reached the other Planes.

Northern Plane

At the guild residence for the Malefic Order Guild, a person could be heard cursing throughout the area.

"Goddamn it! Just how much more lifeline is the Vanguard Guild going to have?" CarnageBound’s voice reverberated. He was beyond agitated and in utter disbelief when he received news about the Vanguard Guild owning a warship.

Worst of all, the Vanguard Guild even used their warship to destroy multiple supply chains.

Although they operated in the Northern Plane, they still required some resources available only in the Vanguard Guild’s plane.

And where would they get those resources from?

Naturally, it was none other than the Miracle Pavilion. So for the latter to suffer such heavy losses, they were destined to suffer even harder in the long run.

When CarnageBound kept thinking about the financial losses and possibly reprimand from the higher-ups, especially with his position being somewhat shaky as of late, he was about to curse loudly again.

Unfortunately for CarnageBound, there was someone who halted him this time.

"Stop cursing and ruining others’ mentality." A voice echoed from afar.

"Who dares—"

CarnageBound turned around and was about to lash out at the fool who dared to stop his ranting.

However, when he spotted the source of the voice, his enraged expression quickly subsided.

The nearby Malefic Order Guild members also kept their heads low to avoid being spotted. They believed that if they couldn’t see them, then vice versa.

"What? Are you going to curse at me to rant?" While the low-ranked members didn’t dare to intervene in the situation, the same could not be said for Evelyn.

"Of course, not." Feeling extremely bitter on the inside, CarnageBound lowered his tone and answered. As if he would be willing to offend someone like Evelyn, whose background was indisputable.

"Hmph, I doubt you are actually satisfied." Evelyn scoffed and commanded, "Come to my office first. Your ranting here wouldn’t be acknowledged by the higher-ups anyway. And I will also speak on your behalf that this incident isn’t your fault."

Instantly, CarnageBound’s eyes brightened. He hurriedly cupped his fist together and gave his sincere gratitude to Evelyn.

Indeed, he was causing a ruckus in the guild residence, not because he had truly gone mad. Instead, he wanted to show the higher-ups that he was equally frustrated and beyond helpless by this sudden change.

Of course, he knew such an action might not grant him leniency or a pardon for the incident, but he still had to try. Luckily, he seemed to have found his lucky star when Evelyn had stated she would speak up for him.

With Evelyn’s reassurance, CarnageBound’s position would remain safe.

So, like a good little puppy, CarnageBound hurriedly followed Evelyn to her office.

"Close the door behind," Evelyn yawned and took her seat.

"Yes, Miss." Nodding in joy, CarnageBound carefully shut the door without making a loud sound.

"Tell me the details of our losses." Evelyn didn’t bother to mince her words and went straight to the topic.

"Right away, Miss. At the moment, some of the potions we sourced from Miracle Pavilion for the raids have been delayed indefinitely. Additionally, inflation would soon hit our Northern Plane. I reckoned at least 20% of the increase in prices at the bare minimum." CarnageBound reported. His face held a dreadful look because this was merely the immediate impact.

If they still failed to properly find another source soon, then it wouldn’t be long before some of their earning raids would have to be paused.

These raids were easy because of the potions. Without these critical potions, the time spent in the raid would have doubled, and the cost-effectiveness wouldn’t be worth it anymore.

Nodding, Evelyn tapped her fingers softly on the desk.

"Since we’re suffering such dire consequences from the Miracle Pavilion’s own fault, quickly send a notice to them that we demand compensation according to the contract we signed." She declared solemnly.

"Miss, this is a bit..." Alarmed and startled, CarnageBound didn’t expect Evelyn to make such a decision.

Although their revenues would decrease quite steeply, it still doesn’t warrant them to start using the contract agreement to demand compensation. It was still early, and nothing had been solicited yet.

"The Miracle Pavilion might be at a disadvantage now, but we don’t know if that will stay true. I’ve received reports that the Miracle Pavilion had already planned to advance their siege to completely take over Haven Wind Town." He explained, trying his best to advise Evelyn from committing a critical mistake.

Though the main basis was still saving his own skin. If Evelyn truly made such a mistake, then the blame wouldn’t be laid on her. Instead, it would be shifted to him, who failed in his duty to advise Evelyn otherwise.

Such was the life of an advisor with no background or actual influence.

"Carnage, do you still want to remain in the guild, or do you want to be sent to the higher-ups for an explanation?" In response, Evelyn casually asked him a question.

Instantly, CarnageBound’s face turned slightly pale. He finally realized why Rvelyn decided to extend a hand to help him. The price was a little bit too high, wasn’t it?

’Am I going to be a scapegoat no matter what?’ He cried inwardly. He seriously regretted taking over the job to mess with the Vanguard Guild’s operating plane in the past. His luck seemed to have taken a drastic change since then. Nothing was going well for him.

He was defeated at Dawnshire City, and not long afterward, he got absolutely humiliated in the Hall of Resonance Trial, which was meant to be his breakthrough moment.

However, a sudden enlightenment dawned upon CarnageBound.

’Wait a second. Almost every tragic situation befalling me was more or less related to the Vanguard Guild.’ CarnageBound thought to himself. His body seemed to have petrified when he realized that every time he went against the Vanguard Guild, bad luck would befall him.
