Chapter 1088: Divine News
Despite Xu Feng’s comment regarding Zhao Kai losing, he was already quite proud of the latter.
To be able to reach the top 4 with barely any time to practice was considered a great achievement. Had Zhao Kai been trained from a young age and nurtured deeply, he would have won the whole competition.
Unfortunately, he didn’t get to battle many opponents or train to face unexpected situations.
In hindsight, what Zhao Kai lost to wasn’t Tyson, his opponent. Instead, what he lost was insufficient experience and the lack of judgment to determine the viable options.
At a glance, Xu Feng could discern that Zhao Kai wanted to wait for a grand opening to retaliate in one blow to overcome the dilemma. Such a strategy sounded great on the surface, but in reality, it was beyond laughable.
Tyson wasn’t some cannon fodder who couldn’t do anything. He was steady and even occasionally threw out baits to Zhao Kai in hopes that the latter would attempt a move.
Although the bait wasn’t taken, it was already good enough with the amount of favorable points earned from the scoring judges.
"Anna, have the people start to change the title of the cake we’ve prepared." Zhao Xin didn’t doubt Xu Feng’s judgment and hurriedly ordered Anna to change the celebratory cake.
"Reaching the top 4 is already a magnificent feat." Feng Qing Rou chimed in and said to console Zhao Xin.
"Relax, I’m not disappointed by the result." Zhao Xin smiled. Her gaze locked on Zhao Kai as she watched him run out of time, completely defeated.
From start to finish, Zhao Kai was unable to land a single attack on Tyson.
It was just the first round, with two remaining rounds to go. But not many people had any hopes that Zhao Kai could overtake Tyson in the remaining rounds.
After all, Tyson was still in peak form and seemed ready to continue his domineering strategy.
"I should get going." At this moment, Xu Feng had already packaged the food and stood up.
"You’re leaving now?" Startled, Feng Qing Rou looked at him in confusion. The fight had barely started, and he was already trying to leave.
Was he trying to avoid her or the topic revolving around their guild?
Contrary to Feng Qing Rou’s confusion, Zhao Xin nodded her head and said, "I’ll have Anna drive you back home first."
Hearing that, Xu Feng shifted his sight to Anna Liu and smiled awkwardly.
"No need." He chuckled. Anna Liu was practically glaring at him, almost as if daring him to agree to the suggestion.
He still wanted to live free without any migraine. Moreover, he doubted that the journey would be smooth without her trying to pry for more information.
He was already being generous to reveal bits of their guild’s intention. The rest were up to them to decide what they wanted to do.
Sometime later, Xu Feng dashed away at the speed of light, leaving the three women alone.
"Um, why did you just let him leave?" Feng Qing Rou quickly asked in a dazed tone. "I thought we were here to watch the fight."
"Since Xu Feng already said the fight is over for Kai, then he naturally wouldn’t stay for long." Zhao Xin softly spoke, her eyes remained locked on Zhao Kai.
"My little brother has a lot of pride deep in his bones. The same goes for Xu Feng. If they encounter failure, then these two would never bother with each other. It’s not that they don’t care, but that they care too much and wish to save their little bit of pride."
"Eh? But isn’t it better to console and enjoy a meal together?"
"Each person is different, and that’s their method."
"But you’re staying here, right?"
Nodding, Zhao Xin spread her arms and chuckled. "Naturally. That’s their style, but not mine. Why would I need to adhere to their ridiculous action?"
"..."
Speechless, Feng Qing Rou realized common sense does not work for either one of them.
While this small discussion passed by quickly, the two soon talked about the upcoming situation.
Although Feng Qing Rou came to inquire with Xu Feng, her main objective was to construct a plan with Zhao Xin to deal with the enemies coming at them in the real world.
"I’ll be frank with you, Xin. I’m not going to let these scums destroy all my progress." She put on a solemn expression and declared.
"Same here," Zhao Xin also held the same thoughts. Not to mention, the mere fact that they were colluding with her eldest brothers against her had already crossed her bottom line.
"So, should we start to collaborate officially?"
"I think it’s about time for that. Grandfather is also getting old. To think he’s trying to give away shares when many are eyeing our family for them."
While the two began to commence the plan to combine and collaborate, Xu Feng had calmly boarded the train to head back home.
He found an empty seat to sit in as he opened his phone to browse the news.
Needless to say, the media was very swift in its intelligence network. It had not been long since the Vanguard Guild had made their declaration of war when the media had already begun to cover it.
One of the most popular media was the channel Divine News, specifically targeted at significant events in the Divine World.
Divine News
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I’m your host, Duncan."
"And I’m your second host, Priscilla."
The anchors, Duncan and Priscilla, greeted the viewers as they hopped right into the news after some commentary filled with fillers.
"Now, we have just received a very hot segment about a recent upstart guild." Duncan grinned, turned to his coworker, and asked, "Do you know who the upstart guild is, Priscilla?"
"Naturally, it’s the one and only Vanguard Guild." Priscilla smoothly jumped in and exclaimed. "The Vanguard Guild is truly a guild of miracles. They held numerous achievements, with the most recent being the opening of their new town, Haven Wind Town, at Twilight Glades. But what is more astonishing about them is the number of guilds and groups that they had clashed with."
Upon seeing the news, Xu Feng was about to get bored until the news anchors brought in a special guest.
’Hoh, so it’s you.’ His eyes narrowed at the newcomer.
