Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1044: Chao Shen’s Lecture

Chapter 1044: Chao Shen’s Lecture

After receiving the Phantasm Map from Lao Shu who continued to shed some tears, Xu Feng wasted no time to bid farewell.

He was truly afraid that if he were to remain any longer, then Lao Shu might just change his mind and take back the map.

If that were the case, then Xu Feng would really be the one crying because, without the map, his mission was destined to fail.

Upon exiting the guild, he was promptly greeted by Joseph, who bowed his head slightly as a gesture of paying respect.

"Thanks for the help, Joseph." Xu Feng approached the latter and retrieved a silver coin to be given to him as a tip.

"It’s my pleasure to assist someone sent by Sir Chao," Joseph responded lightly and shook his head.

Nevertheless, his hands were lightning-quick. In the blink of an eye, the silver coin from Xu Feng’s hand was gone and entered Joseph’s pocket.

Seeing that, Xu Feng laughed in amusement.

"I’ll have to return to report the mission, but if there’s a chance." He calmly said and walked ahead.

"Do teach me those lightning-fast hands." He then whispered softly, much to Joseph’s delight. The two of them weren’t exactly great buddies, but they definitely shared the same type of benefits. Hence, it would only serve the two of them well to get along and ensure each other’s successful path.

As Joseph watched Xu Feng’s silhouette vanish from the distance, he heard a call from the receptionist.

"Joseph, Mister Lao Shu had called for you to ascend to the third floor." It was the same receptionist who informed Joseph earlier of Lao Shu’s whereabouts.

Upon hearing his name being summoned, Joseph’s eyes brightened up.

Without a doubt, he was about to be promoted and possibly be assigned to attend to Xu Feng if he were to ever return to the Cartographer Guild.

And his thought process wouldn’t be much off from the truth, granted that this was technically considered a confidential event. But since Joseph had already learned of the information, it only made him the perfect candidate to ensure Xu Feng’s presence wouldn’t receive any discrimination.

While Joseph was destined to rise in the Cartographer Guild, elsewhere, Xu Feng had returned to Night Ship.

It was called Night Ship, but in his mind, the name of a private small shipyard was more suitable.

After all, the ships in Night Ship were never for rent or for sale.

One could only obtain it after earning the approval of the owner aka Handsome Chao aka Chao Shen.

"Hoh, you’ve returned quite early." Chao Shen, who was already basking under the sunlight, commented when he noticed his arrival. "I had thought you would stay in the Cartographer Guild for a while. Since you do know that you have to do a mapping when out at the Phantasm Sea, right?"

"Mister Lao Shu didn’t mention anything about it." Xu Feng smiled bitterly and responded. Thank goodness he already knew how to cartograph in the past timeline, otherwise, he might have been screwed over by Lao Shu.

"Hmph, that Lao Shu must have been heartbroken to give up the Phantasm Map to remind you of such details." Chao Shen rolled his eyes and scoffed.

He knew his friend quite well enough to understand the gist of the situation.

"Then do you need to return to learn some cartograph? I can’t let you head off to sea if you don’t even know the basics."

"I know a bit about it."

"Is that so?" Chao Shen extended his hand.

Without needing to be explicit, Xu Feng swiftly retrieved the folding fan and returned it to him.

Seeing that he was quite quick on his feet, Chao Shen nodded and gestured with his hand. "Since you got the map, then follow me. I still need to make sure you know everything before setting sail."

He then stood up and began heading inside the Night Ship’s interior.

Realizing there was another set of tests, Xu Feng could only sigh and accept his fate.

After all, Chao Shen couldn’t possibly know he was experienced in ship sailing and cartography. Besides these two, there were also numerous factors involved in the sea journey. To maximize the immersion, the Divine World wouldn’t just let players get their hands on ships easily.

Sometime later, Xu Feng returned to the separate dimension and into a room that looked no different than a college lecture.

’Oh god, I’m getting PTSD already.’ He cried inwardly. Nothing was more boring and infuriating than sitting through a college lecture for more than 2 hours.

"Take a seat," Chao Shen said sternly, his expression changing to a look that professors often used when lecturing.

Speechless, Xu Feng could only take an empty chair and sit. To think that he had dropped out in the real world, only to end up being given a lecture in the Divine World.

What was the irony?

This was!

In the end, a class lecture could never be avoided.

"Do you understand rip current?" Chao Shen questioned solemnly.𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"Yes, I do." Xu Feng nodded. A rip current was a strong, narrow current of water moving away from the shore.

Although it wasn’t as dangerous to swimmers as opposed to ships, rip currents could still impact a ship’s movement and course. To summarize, it would potentially lead to navigational difficulties or groundings, and these were critical factors in the Phantasm Sea.

"If you experience a shipwreck while out in the Phantasm Sea, then I must give my sincere prayer to Lao Shu." Chao Shen said in a bittersweet tone.

"Are you hoping I have a shipwreck?" Xu Feng twitched his mouth in disbelief. If he had to give prayer to Lao Shu, then it was obvious that he would be gone along with the Phantasm Map.

Was that something one should say?

Shouldn’t he say something auspicious instead?

"No, I’m saying it so that you won’t have a shipwreck. After all, I’m lending you a bronze ranked warship. You think money grows on trees?" Chao Shen snorted and crossed his arms.
