Chapter 787 - 787: A fundamentally special kind of fight (part 9)

"Crack!", the white energy condensation sword which had a solid copper energy layer and was crackling in bright yellow lightning being wielded by the masked silver haired youth, suddenly doubled its size as it proceeded to break a second before the dark grey blue mana trident being wielded by the long-haired youth, did the same.

"Boooom!", their energies exploded while colliding and trying to overwhelm the other, but while the multiple energies ended up disappearing first, the remains of the dark grey blue mana were too little and too worn out to be a threat to Daimon who simply smacked them away with his black and bright green energy gauntlet which was clad in a solid copper light.

"I wonder how long you can last while using all those different types of energies at the same time just to equal only my mana", said Ereth to which Daimon smirked behind his mask.

"And I wonder when will you understand that your "cunning" strategies are not as good as you think they are", he said.

"Crack!", a black crack in space opened a couple of kilometers away from the area where "Daimon" and "Ereth" were clashing, and another masked silver haired youth came out of space this time with a white, bright green and dark red energy crossbow which had a bright red and copper colored bolt crackling in bright yellow lightning loaded in it, on his right hand which he then pointed at his right.

"Heavenly Roaring Bolt", said Daimon as he shot the crossbow, releasing a thin but extremely fast and fierce red, white and bright yellow energy stream which produced a loud "roar" by pushing the air in its way aside, which drastically increased its range to a whole kilometer wide from the barely one-meter stream of energy that acted as its core.

"Rooaaar!", what's more due to its insanely high speed, the roaring energy bolt reached its target practically when it was released.

"Damn it, Royal Black Majestic Sea Rotating Pillar", another Ereth who became visible out of nowhere and found himself in the path of the incoming roaring energy bolt, directly casted a huge pillar of dark grey blue mana that reached high into the sky, while rotating at high speed around himself to block.

"Boooom!", the explosion this time was short-lived but way fiercer than before, also the roaring bolt dragged away all the water mana upwards and then dispersed it into too thin particles to be seen.

"Hsssss!", before bright yellow lightning attacked each and every single one of them burning them into nothing this time.

"Why are you putting that face, did my crossbow technique perhaps touch a nerve, or are you just angry because your copy didn't trick me, so I got in your way before you went to verify just what might be happening at that other battlefield so far away from ours?", said Daimon as he saw Ereth's glare which could kill right now.

"Masked bastard…", said Ereth as he gritted his teeth, in fact both reasons were valid, first because Daimon had remodeled his crossbow technique to make it look like the damaged crossbow which used to be Alicia's promise level treasure and in case you have forgotten, that's what was used to kill him.

The one time he had actually died was by that crossbow being used as a non-compatible medium for Freya's ability, and now Daimon was spawning a similar crossbow to that and using it to attack him, of course he was annoyed by it, it was as if he had his greatest failure rubbed on his face.

Then, we have what happened a moment ago after his trident mana condensation destroyed itself alongside the energy sword the masked silver haired youth used, Ereth used the cover of the energy explosion to leave a copy and then disappear from plain sight.

Why did he aim to go personally instead of trying to send a copy like he did with Sera and Laila you wonder, the answer is simple, earlier his "radar" felt the around thirty-kilometer sized blank area, move from its previous position which was where Arlion was supposed to be.

The problem is that Arlion's "signal" didn't reappear after that, and to make matters worse, that large "dead zone" where his radar couldn't interfere, then arrived at the sole other remaining battlefield, which was that of Karla and Freya and then he completely lost connection with Karla.

He knew she was still alive, because if she died, unlike with the seconds in command who were also connected to him, a "reaction" would have come his way, but this lack of intel was like poison for Ereth.

Because earlier he didn't know how his subordinates died, then he didn't know how Arlion died too, for someone that took pride in making proper preparations and have layer after layer of fake fronts hiding his truth, he was now the one experiencing being on the receiving end of "uncertainty" and he of course didn't like it.

Unfortunately, no matter how he tried, his copies for some reason couldn't trick the eyes of the masked silver haired youth, and what's more, he out of nowhere pulled out a movement technique which allowed him to move through space, though the range seemed limited, he made up for that with his insanely fast and strong long-range attacks like the heavenly roaring bolt, so Ereth couldn't slip away from the battlefield to go see what the hell was going on and act according to what he saw.

"You dare to use the word "heavenly" in your casting, when you are getting in the way of a hero type user like me, you'll be punished by that you know", said Ereth to which Daimon chuckled as he extended his hands, on the left one he had a black, green and copper colored energy gauntlet covering it, while for the other a white, green and dark red energy crossbow appeared for him to wield.

"I don't believe that "evil" is black nor that "good" is white, but that what you do with them is what defines whether you should be judged or not, so why would I be worried of a "simple" word, especially because I'm mostly using it just to mess with you, after all, you died at the hands of the "heavenly archer" system user, right mister "hero"?", said Daimon, which nearly made Ereth tremble due to anger.

"Masked Bastard!", he shouted as he charged at Daimon, knowing full well that while the enemy couldn't defeat him, getting away from this battlefield before killing him was basically impossible.

'Well, he is indeed pissed off and I'm also honoring those three's ancestor, now I just need to find a way to break through before he starts "powers up" for real, or I'll be in actual trouble… what is mom doing at Freya's battlefield though?', thought Daimon as he inwardly "gazed" at a certain administrator girl which was calmly resting in his mind, but got no answer from her, so he put the matter at the back of his brain for now.

Instead, Daimon pointed his left hand which was covered by the black energy based gauntlet, releasing countless invisible black threads which had different energies applied to them, while he also shot the bolt on the white energy based crossbow, at the incoming dark grey blue mana star.

"Booooom!", we started this short peek at Daimon's battlefield with an explosion at Aisha and Freya's one, and we'll go back to those two's battlefield with an explosion on Daimon's one too.

Far into the distance, at the battlefield where the trembling sensation on the atmosphere which reached all the way to where Daimon and Ereth were fighting, originated, the huge energy explosion which caused it, finally receded, and the result was not less impressive than reaching Daimon and Ereth from this far and in fact it was related to why that happened.

"Crack!", a loud shattering sound echoed through the sky as cracks appeared on the demonite field which was isolating the battlefield, the damage and impact caused by the techniques of those two, as well as the magic art and the battle spell of the enemies, colliding and exploding all at the same time was too much to handle for the demonite field in such a short period of time, so it ended up cracking and that allowed some of the isolated aspects to escape.

That being said, the violet empress had her pride and more importantly how could Aisha allow something to interrupt her darling's fight, so, nothing that could really tell the enemy about the ongoing situation in this battlefield, reached Ereth, also the demonite field didn't crumble apart it was just damaged and it recovered throughout the whole duration of the aftermath, ultimately returning to normal at the end.

Once the energy explosion died down, the sight of both the two Karla's as well as Aisha and Freya who had been moved backwards by the impact of their attacks, was revealed.

Surprisingly not only was the distance they were forced backwards the exact same, but neither the Karlas nor Aisha and Freya suffered a wound due to the previous, though there was a thin blood trace running down the corner of the good Karla's mouth, why, because even when clashing with her spell head on, Freyas's spear thrust bypassed the ongoing clash and pierced a hole through the hurricane part of her domain

'Damn bitch, so she has another rule besides that "severing" which she used a moment ago, when she is using knight related powers', cursed the good Karla to her insides to then wipe out the trace of blood on the corner of her mouth

"I didn't expect you to have a second rule, but I guess, you have been with that masked guy long enough to have the time to prepare for our fight", said the good Karla to which the evil one added.

"Still, now that we are fighting seriously, you two couldn't really do anything to us, just with two rules, so what do you think will happen, with three!", shouted the evil Karla as she added the "survivability", rule to her magic aura, which already had the "power up" and "especial weapon" rules into it.

"Royal Black Hell Blood, Corrosive Charge!", she used the magic art version of a movement spell she had previously used during the fight, as a result, her magic avatar alongside herself, blurred for a split of a second to then appear above Aisha.

Who indeed looked surprised over the speed at which the evil Karla had moved, for a good reason.

'She used the condition of "increasing speed if dodging is possible", to boost herself for an attack instead of to defend against one, that's indeed a way better control over rules than what Arlion had', thought the silver-haired vampire mother as she beckoned with her armored right hand which was burning in white silver flames.

"Clang!", the demon execution sword clashed with the dark red trident replica, producing a loud metal colliding sound as well as sparks, but this time the evil Karla snorted as she made her weapon glow in magic aura which had three rules in it, that was then absorbed by the trident which made a symbol appear on each of its prongs.

"That sword is nothing in front of a promise level treasure!", shouted the evil Karla as the "power up" rule symbol which was engraved in the middle prong of the dark red trident, shone.

"Crack!", in response the demon execution sword cracked and was then destroyed by the replica trident which the evil Karla then thrusted at Aisha.

"Boooom!", of course while her attack type technique was destroyed, Aisha still had her innate defensive one, namely the metal field projected by those pretty silver wings of hers, which is what appeared to block the trident before it reached Aisha.

That being said and while the defensive metal field blocked the trident which had exhausted its momentum when it destroyed the demon execution sword, the symbol on the left prong of the trident which was the one of the "especial weapon" rule, shone.

"Hsssss!", as a result the white silver metal defensive field, because Aisha's wings projected a demonite one of course, started to produce sizzling sounds upon contact with the trident's prongs, before… the trident created melted weakened spots in Aisha's defensive field, which was then pierced by the trident's prongs.

'So, that's that promise treasure's ability, it eats its owner's rules and energy and then produces a smaller in range, but strongly boosted similar result', thought Aisha as she flew back to avoid the incoming trident.

Normally the mithril extreme effectivity against negative oriented things, mixed in Aisha's demonite defensive field would have stopped the trident's attack, since that dark red trident which stinks like blood is obviously not a positive oriented treasure, but with the ability it had, the mithril boosted effect in the demonite defensive field was surpassed.

Also, the evil Karla didn't clad her weapon in magic aura, because while minimal. Aisha's demonite could still steal some of her energies to reinforce itself, but she fed her energy to the trident and then used the power of rules through it, which the property from Disaster's metal in the demonite couldn't affect, unlike that capricious sword, it was a perfect method to deal with what Karla deemed the most annoying and dangerous aspect of Aisha's powers, ever since she was nearly beheaded by the demon execution guillotine earlier.

Of course, seeing the previous there is no way Freya would simply watch as her teammate was being attacked, but when she was about to thrust the spear she used earlier, which unlike the sword didn't crumble apart with a single use, the good Karla appeared in front of her.

"And if you have trouble with three rules, what about with four!", she said with a hatred filled voice.

"Royal Black Fierce Hurricane, Torrential Rupture!", with those words and by pointing her free left hand at Freya, the good Karla released a three-kilometer-wide battle mana stream at close range, right at the valkyrie girl who answered by thrusting her spear right when she was engulfed in the stream.

"Clang!", only for the spear to be caught by a dark red trident, because Karla had entered her own attack to prevent Freya from using her spear alongside her "piercing" power as Karla had named it.

Naturally, you would believe that the battle mage Karla wanting to clash head on physically with Freya was stupid, because it is, under normal circumstances her arm would have broken with that single exchange, because Freya was using a knight related technique right now, her physical strength was no joke.

But as the smirk on the good Karla's suggested, she was fine and there is a proper reason for it, she is using the other condition of the "survivability" rule, you know if she can't dodge then instead of speed, defense will be drastically increased, that's why not only did she not care to jump into her own attack, which unlike in Aisha's case would have damaged her, because her energies are not absolutely under her control, but with the increased defense property she could clash with Freya without suffering any damage.

And that is not all, because up to that point she was only using three rules, and she said she was going to use four, but the fourth one was used through the trident, which just like the replica had the ability to eat up the powers of its owner to then produce a smaller scale but stronger attack.

There was another reason as to why it was weird to see the good Karla suddenly fighting Freya at close range, namely her grey silver flame like energy, which was burning on her spear and could leave those ugly scars on its target's bodies, something the good Karla absolutely didn't want to happen to her.

"That's not going to work this time!", shouted the good Karla as the symbol on the shaft of her trident which represented the "mind altering" rule, shone.

As a result, dark blue and dark green battle mana snakes appeared out of "nowhere", the dark blue ones opened their mouths and ate up the grey silver flames, while the dark green ones bit on Freya's spear forcing it away from the trident.

"Crack!", the dark green snakes destroyed the spear resulting from Freya's technique and the dark blue ones burned instead of Karla, which allowed her to thrust her trident at the valkyrie girl who punched her right fist at it.

"Clang!", in case you have forgotten Freya is clad from head to toe in a silver armor which is also a promise level treasure, and the good Karla is a battle mage not a magic knight, so at the end of the day, her attack didn't reach Freya, just like it happened with the replica trident that tried to pierce Aisha alongside her defense field but was dodged by her.

"Tsk", the good Karla clicked her tongue as she saw Freya and Aisha back together after retreating a couple of kilometers away from their previous position, their initial ambush had failed, now imagine her expression when Aisha casually said.

"So, this is what you meant when you said that she really prefers to use others to fight in her stead, those snakes had actual magic beast spirits in them, which is how she redirected the effect of your energy away from her".

In case you wonder what did those snakes had to do with the "mind altering" rule in which the good mermaid Karla specialized, it's simple, she had a wide collection of "spirits" which were the result of those who fell for her "breach" technique.

Karla could infuse them into her battle mana to block the mind and mysterious effects of enemy's techniques used against her, because those "spirits" carried the same existence as her, in other words, they were disposable shields at her complete disposition.

The dark blue snakes were burned by Freya's energy instead of Karla and the dark green ones self-destroyed to eliminate her spear, you get the idea.

And how did Aisha know this, it was intel that she obtained through the blood trace that the good Karla had on the corner of her mouth earlier, though the question was "what is the enemy's trump card", the blood was not enough to see everything.

But Aisha did see Karla killing lots of magic beasts which were bowing to her already, meaning that they were under her control and then she saw that ethereal version of her which had the stiletto through which the "breach" rule was used, absorbing them into a bracelet that was hidden under her right sleeve.

That was a treasure similar to the "amphora ring" which Daimon had obtained through the system, back then they didn't know it, but mysterious and mind related things are not easy to come by, it's just that among the "normal" stuff in the system's shop there are things that surpass the technology of the four galaxies, for example the bracelet of the god of mischief or the hollow suit which are mind and mysterious related treasures, though in rank they only work to up around the Stellar realm, which puts them at four galaxy, Neptune and Kerrol level, you wouldn't find them there.

And that's because Daimon's system shop at his current level can normally produce items that could be found at the maximum potential of the environment in which he is, and then there are also things that surpass it appearing depending on certain situations, like the profession books from which Daimon obtained one of the skills that worked as foundation for his infinity eyes, but let's not get too sidetracked here.

"Mm, she is still as disgusting as ever", said Freya with a disdainful expression on her pretty face, which made the evil Karla grit her teeth.

"Looks like you two bitches haven't realized the position you are in, but it's fine, it wouldn't be fun if you died so fast, let's first start by getting rid of that annoying domain which is half blocking the mana from the outside and being an eyesore", said the evil mermaid Karla as she thrusted her replica trident upwards.

"Royal Black Hell Blood, Corrosive Breaking Throw!", alongside, the evil Karla's casting, she let go of the replica dark red trident which after initially exploding in magic aura, absorbed till the last bit of it, to then have the "power up", "especial weapon" and "survivability" rule symbols shone on the three prongs as it moved at high speed towards the sky clearly aiming at the roof of the demonite field.

However, instead of the panic-filled expression that the Karlas expected to see on Aisha's face, they were met with a disdainful expression.

"My "domain" you say… looks like your arrogance has gone up to the top of your head, little fish at the bottom of a well", said Aisha as she snapped her fingers, which resulted in the left arm, lower and upper body parts of the violet energy armor which were missing so far, to appear, followed by a word which caused a worth to be seen expression to appear on the two Karla's faces.
