Reincarnated With The Van Helsing System

Chapter 690 - 690: A chaotic meeting in the jungle (part 3)

Though the angel girl couldn’t directly tell Daimon anything, the fact that she reacted to the subject, was enough for Daimon to practically confirm that this weird situation in which representatives from both light and calamity churches, cooperated, despite they being enemies through and through, was tightly related to system users.

Speaking of which, there is another thing that didn’t add up here, though Tessa and Femi have sided with him for enough time to be considered his allies as of current, the last time that woman from the church of light saw them, Adam was favoring them.

“Knowing Marcus, he hasn’t appeared at the frontal line, since he sent his goons after you, so how is the distribution of the forces at his disposition, especially what realm has the energy of those two women reached?”, asked Daimon to which the alfear princess said.

“His weakest subordinates should be at the middle stage of the Lord realm as of current, while the strongest are at the peak stage, the former amount to four people, while there are eighth of the latter, there is also a couple of strange blood specters that stay at that guy’s side, but we couldn’t evaluate their level”.

“Besides that, those two women were at the early stage of the Arch rank, the last time they appeared, though originally they were at the peak of the Lord rank, ah right, six of the peak Lord rank subordinates I mentioned, aren’t natives of Neptune, but nethereals, I don’t know where did he find them though”.

The alfear and dwarf princess apparently didn’t run into a water body since they arrived at the Blood Prison realm, so they didn’t know that there were netherals or traitors from the Northern Sea, sealed into them, their time has been used to keep Marcus’s group in check, so Daimon decided to explain the basics to them.

“Since you know about the blood specters and their function, I’ll cover other important matters, the original selves the fathers of Sarah, Jasmine and Reyne, in other words the Lords of the nethereals, are sealed in this place, though in a deeper layer of the Blood Prison realm”.

“To make a really long story short, they fought against another force called the “Northern Sea” kingdom, and lost, the one commanding said force, sealed them in this place alongside some of their surviving subordinates and… traitors that sided with them”, he said as he pointed at Claire who remained still in the exact same place where Badr left her, because she didn’t want to become a skewer because the living castle in which they were, considered her a threat all of a sudden.

“I see, so those nethereals in Marcus’s group are subordinates of those guys which he helped in exchange for their loyalty or something like that, right?”, asked Tessa to which Daimon nodded in response.

“Yeah, they are sealed in water bodies within the Blood Prison realm, but since things have become chaotic the seals on them are weakening and with an extra push they can be freed”, he said.

“Hey, I have been wanting to ask, but isn’t that tall old man a nethereal?”, said the dwarf princess, referring to Badr.

“He is a special case, as he was involved in the war against his will and so he sided with the Northern Sea as soon as he was free, I killed the one that treated him as a slave, he is cooperating with us”, said Daimon.

“In that case, it’s safe to assume that besides that little girl whose characteristics match those of the Jolbaris, and the daughter of the Argent family’s Supreme Elder, the others are from that force called Northern Sea, though given the difference in treatment, I guess one is a traitor while the other isn’t, we are siding with the Northern Sea then”, concluded the alfear princess.

Which made Daimon chuckle behind his mask, that tactful girl basically asked him if the people from the Northern Sea were trustworthy, in an indirect way, not that Daimon blamed her.

The term “outsider” has a big weight in the culture of the Wonder Myriad Stellar Chart, given the whole situation with the Magus Emperor, so it’s normal that Tessa wanted to clarify that.

Neptune wasn’t a threat to the four galaxies, because it’s a single planet, even if they do have some unusually strong people, Tessa is sure they can’t win a war against them, if the situation ever happened.

But now we are talking a force of unknown proportions, and even if nothing has been confirmed, the alfear princess is sure that there are way stronger people on the other side.

“Humph, we aren’t like those bastards, the Northern Sea doesn’t make war unless provoked, besides, just because of his connection with Pheli, Daimon can directly obtain a mid-ranked noble tittle, not to mention that if his lineage is validated, he can be directly crowned as a prince”.

“Therefore, bidding war against his native land is forbidden by the laws of our kingdom, if anything you all will be protected if you become a part of his territory… well at least that would be the case if this place wasn’t so damn far from the Northern Sea”, said the sky-blue haired girl.

Feeling the curious gazes coming from the alfear and dwarf princesses, when the “connection with Pheli” part was spoken by Lyn, Daimon added.

“She is referring to the one from whom Daphne and the Duchess’s lineages originated, I happened to meet her at Daphne’s challenge and lent her a hand, you can think of it as a guarantee to our alliance with the Northern Sea”.

Truth to be told, Daimon didn’t think of his current situation as an alliance with the Northern Sea, but with Ophelia and Lyn, because they are the ones he knows are trustable, but this was a much better way to spell it.

“You surely were quite “busy” since we parted ways, huh?”, said the alfear princess as she narrowed her eyes.

“I know that the rumors are not true, but while we were trapped in the spatial tunnel, you, the team leader was flirting with princesses from other Stellar Charts”, jokingly said the dwarf princess, getting back at Daimon for the fact that she had to endure a whole day of complete boredom.

Of course they were just joking, they were present and stayed in the same room with Daimon back at their time at the flying citadel, where he was basically surrounded by pretty girls, and unlike the fake chivalrous front that Adam put for them, Daimon didn’t try to impress them nor did he give them any excessive good treatment.

He was just friendly without any extra implications, which was actually a first for Tessa, outside of Femi, as for the dwarf princess her family was different, they were really united, but since they are a though human-looking still non-human race in a galaxy where the ruling forces are mostly composed of humans, there was always an invisible wall between herself and her peers in the academy where she studied.

Not to mention that her race is especially sought for their craftmanship abilities, so besides those within her clan and Tessa, it was also the first time she met with someone that didn’t want to get a connection with dwarves in order to have a weapon, treasure or anything of the like, made by using her name as leverage.

In fact, she was really interested in Daimon’s sword which changes forms, orientation and basically everything that is normally set in stone for a magic weapon, in other words Disaster and Nasha when using Gram’s form, that’s pretty much a first, a dwarf that is fascinated by craftmanship that has zero relation to theirs.

“Ahem, now that the basics have been laid out, there is something I have been wanting to ask since earlier, you said that the woman from the church of light also got in your way, but as far as I know she should have believed that you were still siding with Adam, did Marcus tell her that you had betrayed him or something like that?”, said Daimon as he cleared his throat.

Marcus doesn’t know that “Gabriel” is Daimon, he and Adam clashed with him when he wasn’t using the hollow suit back then, but the next time he directly met with Marcus, in other words before the Global Raid started, Daimon was using his other identity.

And considering the concept of Marcus’s system, which pushes him to act behind the scenes, it was totally possible that he told Sera something along the lines of “They had betrayed Adam and are siding with a native of Neptune”, since that’s what third parties thought of Daimon.

The people of the Mermen Sea believed him to be a secret disciple sponsored by Annete and trained by old Vincent, since he is one of the strongest individuals in Neptune, not to mention that the queen of the Clear Water kingdom is known for being quite a cunning person.

Amusingly enough, those from the Elemental Sea believed he was a bodyguard raised by the matriarch of the Light Palace to protect her granddaughter while those from the Skalia continent in the Bone Sea, believed he was related to Armando, in other words the leader of the White Walker race that was done in by the swindler system user, resulting in the Skelefiend race coming to existence.

Those rumors were helpful, so with a bit of Annete’s secret forces and Black Wave, they were actively spread, so that no one could pinpoint Daimon’s identity properly, because there were perfectly logical options on the table to draw the attention of those digging intel about his origin.

“That’s the strange part, based on the angered rambling that we heard from the woman of the calamity church, the reason as to why she didn’t actively tried to kill us, but chased us away instead, is because they thought you worked for Adam, but then that woman from the church of light, also got in the way saying “it wasn’t the right time yet” and that we had to wait for Adam and his followers to arrive as well”, said the alfear princess, which made Daimon laugh.

“To think they believed I was that guy’s lackey, because I used light affinity in public and because Jasmine who was Adam’s target hanged around with me, well this is for the better, since they are waiting for him, it means they don’t know he is dead”, he said.

Originally Daimon thought that Marcus did know about Adam’s death but he just didn’t care, since he didn’t show up any signs of being concerned about Adam not appearing when the Global Raid started, which should have been the date they had agreed to reunite again.

But now everything made sense, it wasn’t that he wasn’t affected by Adam’s death, but that he wasn’t even aware of it.

“Mm, that appears to be the case, I don’t know what the hell are the churches planning, but it seems like those two are needed for it, so there is a temporary truce in place, in other words if we attack one of them, the other will defend it”, mumbled Tessa.

“In other words, benefits weight more than the ideologies they so loudly preach about, not like it surprises me”, added the dwarf princess.

“Heh, that Adam is one of “those” guys right, was he a tough opponent?”, curiously asked Lyn, she was interested in knowledge about system users.

“Not a hard opponent perse, more of an annoying one, you see his type are incredibly hard to properly get rid of, survivability and come backs are their special traits, I wasn’t the one that killed him though, it was a girl called Sarah, though I indeed defeated him before”, he said.

“That does make sense, she is monstrously strong for her realm, even I don’t know if my battle prowess will be on par with hers when I catch up in terms of realm”, said the alfear princess.

That doesn’t mean Tessa thinks she is less talented than Sarah, but the alfear princess is a mage and while she has a strong offense power, she has a much more balanced build, knowing both defense and support spells as well, Sarah on the other hand is all about strength, well, now she has support abilities as well, thanks to having overcome her challenge, since that’s what they are for, to turn the weak areas of the participants into opportunities to grow.

“And she is freaking crazy”, added the dwarf princess, quite bluntly but it couldn’t be taken as an insult, since everyone that knows her, will agree to the previous.

“I’ll need you to fill in a few more specific bits of information”, said Daimon as a sharp light flashed through his eyes.

A few hours after Daimon’s group had reunited with Tessa and Femi, the light radiated by the red sun diminished and thus night came to the Blood Prison realm, that being said, the usual worries that participants would face at night, didn’t apply for this specific area.

The reason is simple, blood specters didn’t enter the jungle, because the trees would attack them.

In exchange, there was a different source of headaches in the form of groups of people, working for Marcus that moved in different areas of the jungle, this one in particular consisted in a slim guy with short black hair and dark pink eyes, whose energy was at the peak of the Lord rank, walking behind a couple of people with sea magic beast’s traits, that were at the middle stage of the Lord rank.

“We have been following Lord Marcus for more time, so why were we given this annoying task, not only are we not even allowed to kill those two bitches, but we have to lure them out of the area controlled by that giant tree, not to mention being bossed around by a damn nethereal”, said one of the two, judging by the old worn leather clothes he wore, he used to be a pirate.

“Shh, don’t drag me down with you man, I’m cool with “just” being a subordinate, that guy sold himself to the Lord because he was the weakest among the sealed nethereals, and it just so happen that he is from the lust faction so, yeah, getting the Lord’s attention benefits him twice…’, said the other, which made the slim guy lash out at them.

“If you two bastards have the time to gossip, how about you start properly doing your jobs as bait!”, fun fact, unlike Reed’s family whose nether works exclusively with lust from the opposite gender, there are families from the Lust faction don’t make that distinction, any lust works, no one really bats an eye at that.

What annoyed this guy is the rumor that he sold himself to Marcus, which is in fact true, he who was at the bottom of the chain of command among the army sent by the Lust faction, would have been at the star rank once unsealed, so he was ignored by the other two groups, who instead targeted the peak Lord ranked nethereals.

So, he made the offer and Marcus took him in, by providing intel on other possible targets, either for subjugation or to be used as sacrifices, he climbed the ladder and had now energy on par with the ones that used to boss him around, based on the few broken memories he has about his time in the nethereal army.

But even after all the effort he put, he was still below not only two of the original followers that came with Marcus, but also Laila and more recently Sera as well.

‘Tsk, last time that damn wood doll took us by surprise, but I won’t be sharing the merit with that woman this time around’, he thought.

Under the murderous gaze of their team leader, those two crossed over to the “other side” of the jungle, which looked practically the same, with the sole exception that the bone thorns on the trees were white colored like they should be, unlike the ones from the side of the jungle they came from, which are black and red.

They only took a few steps into the white bone thorned side, being sure to remain outside of the range of the closest trees, to then take out a few bottles filled with a murky red colored viscous liquid.

“Do it already damn it!”, shouted the nethereal, to which those two removed the lids of the bottles and then tossed them a few dozens of meters away from themselves, making them land on the ground near a couple of trees.

“Hssss!”, the liquid which spread in the vicinity, started producing red foam that extended through the soil, resulting in sizzling sounds accompanied by a bloody foul smell that lingered in the air.

The trees close to that red bloody foam, started reacting violently, their thorned branches trembled and not even a second later they were lashing at each other, in the meantime, those two guys retreated back to the black and red bone thorned side of the jungle.

Not even a minute after those trees started fighting, a white-haired girl arrived at the scene, accompanied by a tall fierce looking man.

“What, no wood doll to ambush us this time around?”, mockingly said the dark pink eyed nethereal, to which the dwarf princess, snorted in response.

“I see you didn’t bring your Arch rank babysitter”, said Femi, which made the enemy grit his teeth.

“Wat are you two bastards waiting for, go get her, I’ll take care of the guy… agh!”, before that nethereal could finish his sentence, a flashing figure tackled him, sending him flying against a random tree.

“Crack!”, the impact was such that the trunk of the tree cracked, while the dark pink eyed guy tried to react, but was unable to due to the Badr attacking him, the dwarf princess casually said.

“Kill him”, and just as casual as Femi was about it, Badr was at the moment of answering.

“Ok”, the tall scarred nethereal formed a fist and the previously impossible to notice black-transparent wall that floated in front of his body, as he tackled the enemy, shrank while increasing its thickness instead.

The result was a palm sized rectangular miniature wall that floated above Badr’s hand.

“Gate of…”, this time it was Badr’s turn to be interrupted, by a much calmer voice though.

“Hold your hand, please”, the origin of it was a girl that appeared to be in her late twenties, she had light gray hair and was wearing a white dress with silver metal armor protecting almost everything below her neck, besides that the other most notorious aspect about her, is the fact that she kept her eyes closed, that was the representative sent by the church of light to follow Adam, Sera.

Naturally Badr didn’t pay attention to her request, and simply pushed his palm frontwards towards the nethereal, as a result the palm sized barrier shot at the target, piercing the nethereal’s chest from side to side.

“…”, it took Sera a moment to react, she became a white flash that landed next to the nethereal and then pointed her palms at him, her energy which was white-yellow colored covered the wound and started slowly but surely closing it.

Only after Sera was sure the nethereal wasn’t going to die, did she stop her treatment, to then look at Femi.

“Leaving the doubt about why did you attack that guy, aside, why didn’t you tell me that Adam’s followers had arrived at the Blood Prison realm, that devil guy was also starting to get impatient”, she said, to which a voice seemingly coming from every direction, answered her.

“Because not only are there no followers of Adam coming, neither will be arriving anytime soon”.
