Reincarnated with the King’s Power
Chapter 344
Inside the Red Magic Tower.
“Orchid Owl, you are certain this method will work?”
Celot Cornelia asked as he followed the violet owl.
[You are full of doubts. Well, being full of doubt is a virtue in mages, I suppose~]
“…….”
Celot Cornelia was left speechless by her brazen manner.
Even so, he could not urge her on.
She was the only Walker who had personally experienced the Red Magic Tower.
‘Even if she has become the guardian of the Violet Magic Tower, what if she still bears a grudge against Cornelia…….’
As Celot considered even that possibility and kept watch over their surroundings—
Hegel laughed and gave his shoulder a few pats.
“Hahaha. Celot, even after mastering 8-Star magic, you are as fainthearted as ever.”
“This is not a matter to dismiss so simply. And lower your voice.”
“Was it not said that the only mage in this place was the Red Duke? If someone appears, it will be another administrator.”
In that case, they would simply settle it with magic.
Celot sighed at Hegel’s unconcerned tone.
“If we fail, Charles’s life and the lives of the others cannot be guaranteed…….”
[You do not have to be so stiff~ Master will save Charles.]
Following the violet owl as it maintained an elegant flight, Hegel asked, “Where are Charles and Killian?”
[Hmm~ I hear they are at the end of the world.]
“The end of the world?”
[Such a place exists~ Knowing too much will get you hurt~]
“Hahaha. That is not entirely wrong. Until recently, I had forgotten that my son-in-law…… no, Killian, even existed.”
When Hegel heard that he had surpassed the wall of 9-Star magic, a thrill had run through his body.
‘I truly do have an eye for sons-in-law.’
A pleased smile appeared on Hegel’s face.
Once the great war ended, he would arrange a marriage between Cornelia and Eurasia.
Then another empire would—
“The ones who went to the other towers are doing well too, are they not?”
Celot’s question pulled Hegel from his thoughts.
“Each of them represents the Kingdom Alliance. Is that not so?”
[Do not worry~ Master chose them himself.]
Based on its information and experience concerning the Empire’s three Magic Towers, the Violet Magic Tower had calculated that a three-person party was best suited to break through each tower.
Killian Eurasia informed them of that fact and assembled the parties himself.
The Red Magic Tower would be handled by Orchid Owl, 9-Star mage Hegel Cornelia, and 8-Star mage Celot Cornelia.
The Black Magic Tower would be handled by 8-Star knight Escardo Schtenberg, 7-Star knight Serena Constantine, and Hazard.
At the White Magic Tower, Pope Claudio de Cronis would be assisted by two commanders of the Holy Knights.
And by now, Simon Eurasia should have arrived at the Imperial Palace.
Once they destroyed the Empire’s three Magic Towers and Simon defeated the Emperor—
“The war will end.”
Hegel spoke with certainty.
‘Well, more precisely, the humans’ war will end~’
Orchid Owl chuckled as she flapped her wings.
The great war they were fighting was no more than a means for transcendent beings to bring about an outcome.
But there was no need to tell them that.
“One rat has brought another rat with it.”
[Mixed-Color Duke~]
The violet owl waved a wing as if happy to see him.
Kekekekeke.
Orchid Owl let out her distinctive laugh and polymorphed into human form.
Swipe—
She licked the blade of the dagger she held in a reverse grip.
She recalled her battle with the Red Duke.
The Mixed-Color Duke’s true body had to be considered stronger than even a 9-Star mage like him.
Without synchronization with the Violet Magic Tower, she had only one life.
But unlike then, she could count on the support of two direct descendants of Cornelia.
Orchid Owl strengthened her body with violet mana and lowered her stance.
[I will kill you too.]
Crunch!
The Grand Walker shot forward.
***
Clang.
After exchanging a blow, Simon lowered Adamas.
“You are not the Emperor.”
The being before him was formidable enough to receive his sword, but that was all.
It was not the man from his memories.
[You saw through me.]
As if he had no intention of denying it, demonic energy rose from the Emperor’s body.
“Rastian…… no, the Monster Lord?”
[I am also the Emperor and the Mixed-Color Duke.]
“You were devoured.”
The Empire’s fierce resistance, which had begun alongside the Monster Wave, now made sense.
[I would prefer you call it fusion.]
Swoooosh—
Several screens made of demonic energy floated in the air.
Among them were screens showing what appeared to be Magic Towers.
[I have sent my new friends to the Magic Towers.]
Rastian Arken.
The strongest mage, who managed all the White, Black, and Red Magic Towers.
His separate egos were each confronting those who had invaded the towers.
Elsewhere throughout the Imperial Capital, the Empire’s elite troops fought the Kingdom Alliance.
Dwarves, elves, and other kingdoms were laying down their lives to stop the Empire, its vassal states, and the Monster Wave.
The Monster Lord watched the sight as though it amused him.
The blood they spilled was forming a formula.
The Mixed-Color Duke had criticized him, claiming that because he had devoured the Emperor and was a monster, he took no interest in the humans’ war. But that was not true.
He desired victory more than anyone.
As king of humans and monsters, he cared more fervently than anyone about winning the war.
It was the Emperor who had simply sat upon the throne, waiting for the formula to activate. He was different.
He was the king of monsters created to change the laws of a world in which humans were the protagonists.
But now, he had become a mutant beyond his creator’s intentions, a usurper who would eventually seize even the creator’s place.
That was the new meaning he had given his existence.
[It seems the Kingdom Alliance is having considerable difficulty. It must be because they cannot receive support from the Magic Towers they boasted of.]
The synchronizers of the three Magic Towers had fallen into his trap.
The place where he had lured them by using his core as bait was not the mountain range, but the end of the world.
Lord’s hideout, which he had learned of by devouring the Emperor.
The Kingdom Alliance’s vaunted three Magic Towers could not currently function properly.
“Pitiful.”
Simon slowly raised his sword.
Whether he had crossed the wall through the sorcery of his previous life or through some other evil art—
“I have walked the path of the sword, considering you my archenemy.”
He was a powerful enemy who had defeated Simon once after he reached 9-Star.
“I have waited only for the day I could cut you down myself.”
And yet, another had stolen his body and was using it.
“Heinrich. Are you trying to make me pity you?”
Simon stared at him.
Before regressing, the Monster Lord had taken Demian Eurasia’s body and acquired Adamas.
Thus, he had regained his former rank.
“In the end, I only have to cut you down as well.”
[Did you encounter Edan Eurasia, sealed within the sword?]
Simon had grown stronger than he had been at the end.
He had reached transcendence.
Though he could not devour Lord, if he absorbed Lord’s remaining fragments and every bearer of fate, he would ultimately become the true ruler.
Just as the Mixed-Color Duke, and he himself after taking the Emperor’s body, had become more firmly established.
[Humans are weak.]
“And yet you have been defeated by such humans time and again. By my ancestor, and by my son as well.”
At the reminder of his defeats, the Monster Lord’s eyes sharpened at once.
[You have regained your memories.]
“It seems you have as well.”
From the question moments earlier, Simon realized that the Monster Lord’s memories had also been hazy.
Just as Simon had forgotten the existence called Killian Eurasia and only recently remembered him, the Monster Lord could not have recovered his memories long ago.
The Monster Lord laughed.
[You are under a delusion because you hold your ancestor’s treasured sword. You are not Edan Eurasia. Nor are you Killian Eurasia.]
Simon had clearly mastered 9-Star magic.
But he had not reached transcendence.
The Monster Lord was stronger than ever, while the sword held by the human who could be called his archenemy no longer functioned at all.
Killian Eurasia, the reincarnation of Adamas, was trapped by Lord, and all the fragments were as good as in Lord’s grasp.
The victory that would transcend all things lay before him.
[Belzern de Lord.]
He spoke his true name aloud.
[Give your life for the true king.]
***
Lord examined the two Magic Towers that had been transferred.
The Green Magic Tower.
Another Magic Tower created through the Divine Tree Silvana had raised.
Charles’s counterattack had sealed the Authority of Devouring.
[You have truly managed to wound me.]
Lord reacted as though Silvana’s betrayal had pained him.
“That is enough acting.”
Killian spoke, recognizing that Lord was not particularly flustered.
As the Violet Magic Tower and the Green Magic Tower were transferred, mana began to fill the space.
The radiance was canceling it out, but that was all.
Breathing was much easier than before.
That was because of the special nature of Magic Towers.
Even so, they remained at a disadvantage.
‘We cannot win like this.’
To summon the Holy Tower, they needed another medium. Before them now stood the two Saintesses who had crossed space.
Lan de Styx, the Saintess of Boundary, and Tatia de Veritas, the Saintess of Truth.
Both possessed the right to synchronize with the Holy Tower and were apostles of High-ranking Gods.
‘They are sufficient as media for the Holy Tower.’
But there was one problem that prevented them from summoning the Holy Tower at once.
‘Lord has not been corrupted as much as I expected.’
Having come into contact with Grotesquery, he should have relied on a power other than Divine Power.
Yet Divine Power remained the source of his strength—and had grown even stronger.
Just as it had thousands of years ago.
[You are considering transferring the Holy Tower.]
“…….”
[You are mistaken. I have surpassed the laws of the world.]
Thousands of years.
[They were truly arduous years.]
He had experimented with countless things.
He had worked with all his might to change the laws of a world where humans were the protagonists.
[Belzern’s victory was unexpected.]
It had been a minute possibility that even the power of time, which saw the future, had failed to see clearly.
For this outcome, Killian Eurasia had needed to choose regression rather than the Divine Realm; he had needed to choose to save Demian Eurasia rather than kill him; and Drago and Rastian had needed to accept Belzern’s offer.
The result was the current situation.
While he changed the world’s laws by using humans, disappointed by repeated failures, Belzern devoured Heinrich.
The Authority of Devouring.
It was an Authority Lord had granted long ago but that Belzern had never used.
Only at the end had he used Devouring to become a usurper.
Belzern de Lord had become a transcendent being.
Lord could overlook the attempt to use him, the creator, to eliminate the users of the Magic Towers.
After all, he too had decided to use Charles Cornelia, rather than Belzern, as his key.
Charles Cornelia, who sealed the Authority of Devouring, was qualified.
More precisely, he intended to gather around Charles Cornelia the other beings who had inherited Lord’s name.
In his place, having gone beyond, only one god would remain in this world.
A Human God.
A god who would govern everything in the Middle Realm.
“An arrogant thought. That possibility exists only if even one of your apostles survives, does it not?”
[You think the others in the Middle Realm will surpass Belzern. Simon Eurasia. Claudio de Cronis. Certainly, they too are beings born with fate.]
For mortals, they had obtained immense power.
Without question, if Adamas were still a sword, fate would have changed once more in their hands.
But Adamas’s seal had been broken.
[As a result, they now face an even greater being.]
The outcome stood in for everything.
Lord’s gaze swept the surroundings.
Charles Cornelia, who possessed two Magic Towers; the two Saintesses trying to create a variable.
Finally, his gaze turned toward the God-Slayer who had opposed him for thousands of years.
