Reincarnated with the King’s Power
Chapter 289
[Has it begun?]
Creak—
Murus's Mind Image World was reflected in Styx's torn eyes.
Streams of Divine Power residing in Killian Eurasia's body were being drawn out.
[You are a being full of sin.]
Outwardly, there was only the Divine Power of Silvana and Neptune, as well as Murus, who controlled them.
But she could see it.
Those were not the only Divine Powers engraved upon the human body of Killian Eurasia.
Veritas. Pantera. Cronis. Roto.
Besides them, several lower Gods, including Atoz, also ‘cling’ to Killian Eurasia's existence.
To cling did not mean the level of an engraving. It meant that they had left traces.
[None of you are honest.]
With their words, they called Adamas a mutant, but inwardly they were considering the possibility that he would prevail under the changed laws of the world.
So they could appear in his Mind Image and make a deal at any time later.
‘Well, I am no different.’
When Lan de Styx, an Apostle, visited using the Temporary Boundary formula, Styx had not revealed herself either.
Even though she knew that a few words would make them receive it gloriously as a revelation or oracle.
‘Until the gate opens, the situation will not improve.’
To manifest while the connection was severed required taking risks.
Was there a need to bear the risk of damage to one's godhood?
The other Gods were the same.
Though they called humans Apostles and named them their representatives, in truth, they could not pour great emotion into lesser creatures.
Separate from being rational, that was the extent of importance Gods could give Mortals.
‘Unless one was an oddball like Neptune, there was no way a God would appear for a summons with no practical benefit.’
Neptune, the God of the Sea.
A higher God who possessed the Authority of Encroachment.
He did not know it himself, but the one who had long conducted experiments using various lesser creatures had exerted enormous influence over the world.
Because he had scattered his own seeds and gone to sleep, the only one he encountered was the Demigod Siren, but there was another species that had crossed the Boundary as well.
[Ravana.]
A Demigod created by giving a dragon's body the power of a God.
Traveling alone in the human world, Ravana had the potential to become one of the new world's central pillars on the day he accepted his own identity.
Besides this, though they fell short of being called Demigods, numerous species had been directly or indirectly influenced by Neptune.
[Another Transcendent capable of destroying godhood.]
An Anomaly that came from beyond the Boundary.
Neptune had not only accepted such a being's power and treated himself as an experiment subject; in the final moment, he had also left a strong trace of himself upon Killian Eurasia.
It was behavior that could be called obsession.
‘He remained self-willed until the end.’
Styx watched Killian's process of evolution within the Mind Image World.
What followed was important.
If Killian fully digested all the Divine Power engraved upon him and did not get consumed by that power.
His Mana Heart would reach 9-Star.
‘But if he is consumed, he will be reduced to no more than an exceptional Demigod.’
She reconsidered the value held by the human named Killian Eurasia.
If he gained 9-Star-level power even through Hollyheart, he would be able to open the gate.
Adamas, who had changed the laws of the world by becoming a Godslayer.
If he opened the gate, the Gods could restore their connection with the Apostles weakened by the Anomaly.
Either way, it was not a bad outcome from the Gods' perspective.
[Because you will seek to cut down the Gods someday.]
It would be more advantageous for both sides to become a community with a shared fate with the Gods.
[Though he did not intend it, Murus has accomplished something great.]
Remembering her brother, who was nearing annihilation, left her with a bitter feeling.
Even being able to feel such emotion to this degree as a Transcendent showed that her godhood was not whole.
Then.
Saaaa—
Evil Energy gathered before her.
[…...]
The gathered Evil Energy revealed Radiance.
Gods were not the only ones who had left traces on Killian Eurasia's body.
[Anomaly.]
The being unaffected by the laws of the world had planted a larger fragment in his body.
No, it was more accurate to say that Killian Eurasia had deliberately absorbed it in the process of cutting it down.
[I thought you would appear once the struggle began.]
An immeasurable time had passed since the Gods were born.
Yet Anomalies had never once stepped near the divine realm.
They had done no more than cross the Boundary and reveal themselves on the continent, but that alone had erased the Gods' existence.
[You have shown yourself well.]
The reason Styx had appeared with Murus was to prepare for a situation like this.
She did not know what calamity might occur if she allowed it into the divine realm.
The Anomaly formed a single shape.
It was not clad in a cloak like Styx, and it had no features at all.
Only one God had such an appearance.
[Lord.]
The first God.
To appear in the form of the one called the parent of the Gods before the gate leading to the divine realm.
Had it been another God, they would have become enraged, thinking their godhood had been profaned.
They would surely have poured out their Authority without restraint.
But not Styx.
[…...]
She merely stared silently at the one who had been her first sibling.
Styx's own transcendent form had also been influenced by Lord.
The omnipotent being she had once wanted to resemble most.
A God among Gods.
Belonging to neither side, Lord had lived by making it his duty to guard the Boundary between the Abyss and the middle realm.
That had been possible because Lord had watched over her.
[Why did my brother make such a choice……?]
She did not finish speaking.
They were not words to utter here.
It was not even Lord's true body, only a fake imitating him.
The reason the Anomaly had appeared this far was entirely because she had failed to fulfill her duty properly.
[Even if it is a fake, it is painful to watch.]
While she sank into a brief thought.
Hum—
A round mouth formed in the face imitating Lord's transcendent form.
[-------.]
Words even she, a God, could not understand poured out.
There was no need to waste time trying to understand their meaning.
Whatever its intent.
[My brother should not have crossed the Boundary.]
Kururung—
The space around the Anomaly split as though severed.
[-------.]
The Anomaly poured out more words, but.
Kururur—kururung—
The fake in Lord's form was unable to cross the Boundary and continued to be severed into dozens, then hundreds of pieces.
Whatever form of evolution Adamas achieved, the seed Lord had planted would blossom before long.
‘Once the seed blossoms, it will appear in person to harvest it.’
The day they would meet came vividly to mind.
[My brother cannot cross this gate.]
With a warning aimed at no one in particular.
Kurururur—
The space situated at the entrance to the divine realm shook violently.
Time passed within the blurred Boundary.
***
His consciousness was fading.
‘How many times have I already lost consciousness?’
At first, there was only Silvana and Neptune's Divine Power.
His memories mingled, and it felt as though time had mingled with them.
He had fought Silvana for his life in Elvenheim's Mind Image World, and Neptune in Aquares's Mind Image World.
‘We not only spoke through swords, but had lingering conversations with words as well.’
What they had in common was that they had been defeated by Palantir and had helped him by using Divine Power directly.
He repeated moments like that several times.
At some point, using Divine Power became freer.
Even after forging Hollyheart, there had been a sense of unfamiliarity, but now it felt like using a Mana Heart.
For that reason, he had thought there were only two kinds of Divine Power he needed to accept in order to grow further.
But that was not the case.
[Adamas.]
The voice that called as if to bite and swallow him was Pantera's.
[For someone who cannot open the gate, you have it easy.]
The ambiguous voice belonged to Roto.
[Have you finally reached this point, traveling against time?]
Cronis's response seemed as though he knew something.
[You have not forsaken truth.]
Veritas spoke softly.
[Why have you not collapsed?]
[Does a Godslayer covet the power of Gods?]
[Do not reject your own sins.]
Besides them, the voices of those he had encountered in the form of Divine Objects at the Holy Nation before troubled his mind.
To think that all their Divine Power had lain dormant in his body.
Ordinarily, he would have scoffed.
Given the opportunity, he would have cut them down without hesitation.
Unless they concealed some proper scheme, their fangs were not sharp at all compared to ancient times.
But not now.
‘Damn bastards.’
Accepting even the two Divine Powers fully was already more than he could handle.
And Murus was in no condition to respond, as he had to support the collapsing Mind Image World.
If they provoked him carelessly, the Divine Power concentrating in Hollyheart would surely reflux.
[Is this not an amusing sight?]
[He will self-destruct if we prod him only a little.]
[That might not be so bad.]
[Is he trying to strengthen Hollyheart?]
[To think he will become Murus's Apostle.]
[It seems Styx is helping as well.]
[Styx has been skeptical from the beginning.]
They poured out words among themselves that he could not understand.
‘Go away.’
He meant it sincerely, but.
Ssssss—ssssss—
They even began to take form.
‘They want us all to die together.’
[You will not die merely because Divine Power overwhelms you.]
[Hehe. How about becoming a Demigod while we are at it?]
[I will make you my Demigod.]
[Of course, after I collapse your mind.]
It became harder and harder to concentrate.
The reflux of Divine Power swelled.
[Enough playing around.]
Cronis spoke in a solemn voice.
At his mediation, the voices quieted.
[If Adamas collapses, it will not be a good outcome for us either.]
[Why?]
Someone asked in return.
[This one has not yet reflected.]
The words were steeped in the emotion of finding him reprehensible.
[Outside, Styx is fighting an Anomaly.]
Cronis's voice was calm.
Anomaly.
At that word, the Gods' voices stopped abruptly.
[We should put an end to our mischievous play.]
Veritas supported Cronis's words.
Killian's thoughts also began to settle.
‘Has the Curse of Anomaly awakened as well?’
It seemed he had been optimistic about the situation.
[Adamas, how long do you intend to wander?]
Veritas asked as though rebuking him.
She said that, unlike the others, she had not intended to intervene.
[But with your current method, you will lose everything.]
‘If you all would only stop getting in the way, it is something I could resolve somehow.’
It was similar to when Charles accepted Diana's Seed before.
Digesting immense power naturally required a corresponding amount of time.
As his concentration and understanding of Divine Power increased, he would be able to shorten the time even more.
[Fool. Do you think you can handle our power so easily with the rank of a Mortal?]
Pantera sneered.
‘Go away before I cut you down…….’
The answer came from Cronis.
[Do you know how much time has passed since you came to the entrance to the divine realm?]
‘……’
At the sudden question, his thoughts spread as they pleased.
A day or two?
Even allowing for time flowing differently, he had not been here long.
[How laughable to compare the divine realm's time with your time.]
[Pantera, leave this to Cronis.]
[Veritas, do not order me around.]
Pantera growled, but no more mockery followed.
It was a show of a certain respect for the two higher Gods.
Cronis continued.
[By human standards, it has been three months.]
"……!!"
[Three more years. If you cannot leave this place within that time.]
Grind. Grind.
With the sound of gears meshing.
[Eurasia will perish.]
Cronis prophesied the future.
