Reincarnated with the King’s Power
Chapter 276 : Chapter 276
Chapter 276
Lan de Styx stormed Isaac Heinrich’s private estate at the head of the Holy Knight Order.
“We received intelligence of suspicious activity at this location.”
At her words, the Guardian Knights protecting the castle entrance looked flustered.
However, they were Superhumans specially appointed by the Emperor.
“This is the residence of a man who shares His Majesty the Emperor’s blood and has been granted the title of duke. Are you declaring war on the Empire?”
“Bullshit.”
“……!!”
The Guardian Knights looked shocked by the words, which were hard to imagine coming from a Saintess.
By contrast, the commander of the Holy Knight Order and the Holy Knights behind her remained impassive, without the slightest disturbance.
“Every action I take represents His Holiness the Pope. His Holiness represents Luminescia, which means you have just threatened the Holy Nation and the Holy See with talk of war.”
“What……?!!”
“That is a gross exaggeration, Saintess!”
“Does the Holy Nation, which parades itself as neutral, dare turn against the Empire?!!”
Tension stretched taut as the Guardian Knights openly radiated Fighting Spirit.
“We’ll find out once we enter and investigate for ourselves.”
Lan smirked, took out the Tobacco inside her coat, and put it between her lips.
Fwoosh.
The Holy Flame that sprang from her fingertips set the Tobacco alight.
Fwoooo.
Lan exhaled a deep plume of smoke and swept her gaze across the Guardian Knights.
“Did I not say we received intelligence?”
Ruuuumble.
Pressure rivaling that of a Superhuman seeped from her body.
“You’re excessively loyal for dogs guarding their master. Sir Gasli.”
At her call, the commander of the Bellium Holy Knight Order stepped forward from behind her.
“Would you clear them away in the name of His Holiness the Pope?”
“If that is your wish.”
Shing.
Gasli de Bellium drew his sword.
At that moment, the three Guardian Knights instinctively realized something.
The knight before them was an 8-Star Knight, a Superhuman among Superhumans, and even several more Superhumans of their level would be unable to stop him.
It did not take long for the three Superhumans to fall to one.
“I can sense quite a few creatures nearby that do not feel like true Superhumans. I will lead the way.”
“Please do.”
At Gasli’s command, the Holy Knight Order advanced.
‘Killian Eurasia, there’s no turning back now.’
The distant castle towered above the estate, radiating a sinister energy.
Lan stared at it for a moment, then followed the Holy Knight Order.
***
CRUNCH. CRACK.
Dragon tangled with dragon.
CLANG—! CLANG—!
Sword collided with sword.
Whoooooosh.
The beings cut down because they failed to block a blade regenerated through Evil Energy.
‘What a magnificent sight.’
Isaac Heinrich thought as he blocked the sword thrust toward his neck.
The Death Knights he had created, the Dark Dragon he had resurrected through research on the Black Dragon, and his personal might beyond 8-Star.
Every one of them was extraordinary.
The proof was that Killian Eurasia, who had arrogantly spoken of erasing Isaac from existence, could not dispel the immortality Formulas placed upon the Death Knights.
The Mana in which Killian took such pride could not match Isaac’s Mana fused with his Evil Energy, and the Divine Power Killian had newly obtained was suppressed by Isaac’s Magic God Stone.
“I know you have no moves left.”
He could see Killian Eurasia manifesting Direction and scanning the Mana lines in the area.
“You’re already searching for somewhere to run. Are you hoping those bastards from the Holy Nation will arrive?”
Using a nearby temple gate would make it easy enough for them to storm this place.
Except that the imperial family, anticipating Isaac’s rampage, had stationed twenty Superhumans here as Guardian Knights and mages, while hundreds of knights guarded every part of the castle.
“Perhaps this is for the best. I would have needed to settle matters with the Holy Nation eventually.”
Those rats used the fine excuse of neutrality to secure their own interests.
That was Isaac’s assessment of the Holy Nation.
“You’re sacrificing a great deal to retrieve one subordinate.”
He laughed as he watched Killian confront the regenerated Death Knights.
Then.
[Your Highness.]
A familiar voice sounded inside his mind.
Only one person in the entire Empire still called him Your Highness after the struggle for the throne ended and he was granted the title of duke.
‘What is it?’
[You have caused quite an upheaval during my absence.]
‘I merely caught a rat that infiltrated my castle.’
[Did you not use that rat to lure in a beast?]
‘Would taming the beast not benefit the Empire as well? Furthermore, I was under the impression that you had agreed.’
Despite Isaac’s nonchalant response, the reply was cold.
[Lan de Styx is heading toward the castle with the Bellium Holy Knight Order.]
‘The Saintess……. A rather important figure has made her move.’
She represented Pope Claudio de Cronis.
Acting like this inside imperial territory meant she possessed some form of conclusive evidence.
‘Is that not all the better? I could use this opportunity to strengthen the Magic God Stone by sacrificing the Saintess.’
The Magic God Stone, which controlled even the Gods’ Authorities, had not yet collected fragments of every God.
[There is no need to rush. More importantly, superior Gods such as ‘Boundary’ and ‘Time’ will be difficult for Your Highness to contain in your present state.]
‘What an insolent thing to say.’
Despite his response, Isaac accepted the man’s words without protest.
When it came to the Gods’ Authorities, no one held greater authority than the White Duke.
Isaac could state with confidence that not even the Pope of the Holy Nation could rival the White Duke’s knowledge.
[The Saintess is accompanied by the Bellium Holy Knight Order. It appears their commander, Gasli de Bellium, is with her as well. He is unquestionably a formidable man who recently reached 8-Star.]
That meant no one within the estate except Isaac could face him.
‘It appears they consider me quite the joke. Rats keep pouring in one after another.’
[They have no justification. At most, they possess unproven claims.]
Justification. It was something one had to secure before making a move on the scale of a nation.
[They will try to use Your Highness as the basis for their justification.]
He had completed the Magic God Stone with fragments of the Gods.
He had used the Magic God Stone to create an immortal army.
It must have seemed like highly attractive justification to the Holy Nation, which had been waiting for an opportunity.
[Eliminate Killian Eurasia. If you do, we can lay the blame upon him and restrain them.]
‘…….’
[Can you do it?]
‘Do you know whom you are asking?’
Isaac looked down at his hand.
He still had a move he had not used.
‘Is this not the perfect day to verify the results of the experiment?’
[…….]
‘Considering he still has not appeared, he must not be in the imperial capital.’
Even if the White Duke were on the opposite end of the Continent, he could observe this estate and establish a connection with Isaac at any time.
If even he could not come here under the present circumstances, there were only two possibilities.
‘Either it concerns a God, or he is obeying His Majesty’s command.’
[…….]
‘Perhaps both.’
The White Duke did not answer.
He was making it clear that he served the Emperor, not Isaac.
Isaac had never expected anything from him in the first place.
He would simply do his own work.
‘White Duke. Do your job.’
Isaac forcibly severed the communication.
Killian Eurasia, having once again cut apart all five Death Knights, was approaching him.
“Things aren’t going the way you planned?”
Despite his exhaustion, he swung his sword without hesitation.
CLANG—!
“Of course they are. I’m merely enjoying myself.”
The sight reminded Isaac of their first encounter, drawing a delighted smile from him.
The Dark Dragon and the Mixed Dragon drove their claws into each other’s scales.
Mana and Evil Energy. Divine Power and Radiance.
In a space where every kind of power intermingled, time flowed differently from the rest of reality.
‘It feels as though two days have passed.’
Outside the door, hardly any time would have passed at all.
He had waited so long for this entertainment. Only two days would never suffice.
“Now then, Killian Eurasia.”
CLANG—!
Isaac knocked aside Killian’s incoming sword and burst into maniacal laughter.
The Death Knights rose in response to his Evil Energy.
“Let us continue our work.”
***
Serena stopped after running with all her strength.
Isaac Heinrich’s private estate was visible in the distance.
The atmosphere was chaotic.
‘The Commander couldn’t have been discovered, could he?’
If he set his mind to it, Killian could conceal himself at the level of a Night Walker.
He was also a knight capable of cutting apart an entire castle with one stroke.
Only when Serena reached the estate could she confirm the reason for the commotion.
‘The Holy Nation.’
In the distance, she could see the Bellium Holy Knight Order battling the knights guarding the estate.
Before setting his plan in motion, Killian had called in the people with whom he had built relationships.
‘So this is how he intends to use his relationship with the Holy See.’
To cause an incident on this scale inside imperial territory.
Thinking they were indeed people her commander could trust with such a request, Serena wrapped her body in Mana.
She infiltrated the castle at high speed under concealment.
“Stop.”
It seemed her concealment had been sloppy because she was moving in such haste.
A man who appeared to be an imperial knight pointed his sword at her.
‘A peak 7-Star.’
Shff.
Serena’s concealment unraveled beneath her opponent’s Haki, and her eyes narrowed.
If she fought him, she would also have to endure considerable damage.
Then.
Ruuuumble.
Immense Haki descended upon the area.
Its owner had a face Serena knew well from intelligence reports.
“Serena Constantine.”
“Gasli de Bellium.”
“Go inside.”
“Where do you think…….”
Ruuuumble.
“I did not give you permission to move.”
Gasli bound the Superhuman through Haki alone, then jerked his chin toward Serena.
“Go to your commander and complete your mission.”
“…….”
Serena nodded and accelerated once more.
‘Commander.’
She knew why her commander had not summoned the Extermination Squad.
‘Yulian…….’
He intended to bear the guilt of cutting down Yulian himself.
But that was a burden Serena had to carry.
After running for thirty minutes while avoiding the Mana lines visible everywhere, she came to a halt again.
“Come out.”
A brief silence followed.
Shff.
Tial Salamander emerged from behind the wall where he had been hiding.
“You aren’t even a true Walker, yet you sensed my presence?”
“Don’t make me laugh. I know you deliberately let your Existence Force leak.”
“Oh? I heard you were the only member of the Extermination Squad to reach the realm of a Superhuman. You live up to your name.”
“Why are you here alone? You should have been traveling with the Commander.”
“That is a question I cannot answer.”
“Did you betray us?”
Bloodlust surged.
“That is a wholly inappropriate description.”
“…….”
“The Empire is Bacardi’s best client. By contrast, Eurasia and Killian Eurasia are clients with great potential.”
Bzzzzzz.
Mana surged from Serena’s body.
“I merely provided the best outcome that both clients desired. I would rather you not tarnish me with such a vulgar description.”
“That’s a long-winded way of saying you toyed with the Extermination Squad using a scrap of information.”
Whoooooosh.
A gale of Mana whirled around Serena as she gripped Aether.
She had assumed a stance from which she could use Carpe or Carpe Illusion at any moment.
“I have no intention of becoming your enemy.”
Tial Salamander readily stepped back.
“I merely fulfilled my contract. I did not expect both clients to make such a spectacle of it.”
He pointed toward a location where a trap appeared to have been disabled.
“There will be a door at the end of this path. Pour Mana into the door itself, and it will warp you inside. Everyone you seek will be there.”
“…….”
Serena stared into his eyes for a moment, then turned and ran.
After she disappeared, Tial Salamander murmured,
“An elf’s Mana imbued with the power of a God… Does Eurasia have nothing but monsters?”
Then he concealed himself once more.
