Reincarnated with the King’s Power
Chapter 236 : Chapter 236
Chapter 236
A false engagement meant to synchronize with the Violet Magic Tower, meant to enter the Secret Repository.
It had been a truly adorable deception.
If it had been anyone other than Sharle who did it, Violet would never have overlooked it.
And that one permission changed many things.
Killian Eurasia took the dragon egg and succeeded in hatching it with Sharle.
Even Violet had not anticipated that the dragon would be a Mixed Dragon.
Had Diana known that Black Dragon and Green Dragon blood were mixed within it?
[She must have.]
She had treated the unhatched egg like a child and studied it.
Watching the dragon Hazard, who hatched that way, follow Sharle as though she were his mother was quite entertaining.
And Violet became certain every moment that her choice had not been wrong.
Killian Eurasia, who inherited Sharle’s pendant, grew quickly and raised Eurasia back up.
The same was true of Cornelia, Eurasia’s allied nation.
With his help, Cornelia’s direct descendants who had been unable to cross the wall reached 8-Star, and Sharle also appeared to be accelerating in her growth.
Violet thought that, as befitted someone called the master of Mana, his influence was extraordinary as well.
But now, he was only a mortal, no longer an existence equal to a God.
There were far too many powerful people for him to change the world.
Whenever he was in danger, Violet lent him Mana without stinting.
Not only that, she poured abundant Mana into Hazard’s Dragon Heart so that the Mixed Dragon would not perish in vain.
He might have been able to use violet Mana even without Sharle’s pendant as a medium, but it was only through Violet’s consideration that he could use her Mana beyond his own ability.
In the meantime, Violet had given a thorough scolding to a reckless Walker who had laid hands on the pendant, and had also devoted great care to granting complete synchronization even to the imperfect pendant Sharle had made.
Watching the direct descendants grow was also entertaining in its own way.
The atmosphere began to change when Sharle was heartbroken over Kiel’s death.
Kiel Cornelia, Diana’s descendant and Sharle’s uncle.
His achievements came somewhat later than those of his older brothers, Hegel and Celot, but he was a talented Arch Mage.
He was also a mentor who had cared for Sharle and taught her from childhood.
Violet, too, had been certain that he would eventually follow Hegel and reach 8-Star.
Such a man met a futile end in war.
Before Sharle’s eyes, while protecting her.
It was an experience that could leave trauma behind.
But Violet believed Sharle would overcome it.
The wall everyone faced in reaching 7-Star; overcoming it was entirely up to Sharle.
To inherit Diana’s Seed, she needed to tear down the wall herself.
If Sharle wanted it, Violet could lend her as much Mana as she wished.
Like Diana, Sharle would someday become a mage who reached 9-Star.
But regrettably.
The experiment she chose was beyond what Violet could help with.
“If the Emperor truly intends to become immortal, then research into that should be underway as well.”
Violet Mana came into contact with an old key containing the will of the God Roto.
A mage of the Black Magic Tower, marked by a Curse of Grotesquery, was brought in.
Sharle led the research into the Transcendents directly.
It would not have been easy research even if she had proceeded with sufficient rest.
But her body was at its limit from striving to fill Kiel’s absence.
And then, suddenly.
The fragments of the two Transcendents began to rampage.
If Sharle tried to endure it alone, her Mana Heart would shatter.
Violet forcibly intervened in her Mind Image.
As though opposing the fragments of Transcendents that meant to devour her, Violet hid Sharle in a space located in a corner of the Magic Tower.
She had merely given her a space, but Sharle unconsciously began to create the surrounding area as her own.
It was an instinctive act for a creation mage.
The problem was that, because Violet had hidden her by force, the remnant of the God and the Curse of the Grotesquery flowed into the Magic Tower together.
It was a crisis in which the Violet Magic Tower itself could collapse if things went wrong.
Outside, Hegel Cornelia and Celot Cornelia wanted to enter Sharle’s Mind Image.
[It is dangerous.]
If Violet permitted them, the God and Grotesquery would learn Sharle’s location too.
“Oh? Where could this be?”
Sharle’s memories were incomplete now because of the collision between the Curse and Divine Power.
Violet wanted to awaken her, but this was not the time.
“There is no other paradise like it.”
Sharle looked more at ease than ever.
[...]
Violet thought anew of when Sharle had last rested properly.
Since before Kiel Cornelia died.
Since the first day she synchronized with the Magic Tower.
Perhaps since the day she was born and became aware of herself.
Sharle Cornelia may have been forced to endure the weight of the destiny she was born with.
Violet, who had identified Diana Cornelia and Sharle Cornelia with each other and encouraged Sharle’s growth, likely bore some responsibility as well.
[This must be the rest you finally obtained.]
Violet did not approach her.
She did not clumsily try to tell her the truth, and she erected a strong Barrier so that no one could disturb her rest.
Then, as though by fate.
“Sharle.”
Killian Eurasia appeared.
“Who are you?”
Sharle could not remember Killian Eurasia.
At the absurd situation, Killian Eurasia let out a hollow laugh.
Once he grasped the situation, he poured out explanations of who he was, what they had done together, and what the state of affairs outside was.
Sharle seemed flustered by the sudden information.
“For today, shall we rest first?”
Sharle led him to a hastily made room, then headed straight to a laboratory.
It was the room among her thirty laboratories where she researched the Magic Tower.
“Violet Magic Tower.”
She called to Violet.
“If you are watching, will you answer me?”
It was the first time this had happened.
Whoosh.
Violet, in Diana’s form, appeared.
[Sharle.]
“So you were watching after all?”
[Have your memories returned?]
“No. My memories are unchanged.”
[...]
“It has been almost five years since I began researching here without a thought. Through the reasoning I have done during that time, I only became certain that someone was watching me.”
[Five years. Has it already been that long?]
Violet had been so concerned with the Transcendents’ fragments that she did not realize that much time had passed.
“Why am I here?”
[You are resting.]
“...”
[Because you did not rest, you broke.]
“I see.”
Sharle nodded.
“I broke.”
She did not ask why she had broken.
Violet did not deliberately tell her either.
That was not Violet’s role.
[There is no need to worry. You are not dead yet.]
“That is a relief.”
Sharle let out a sigh of relief.
“There is research I have yet to finish here.”
[Are you more afraid of not finishing your research than of death?]
“Yes. My research may change the world.”
Her confidence was no less than Diana’s.
[Sharle, to be honest, you do not have much time left.]
“...”
[Killian Eurasia must have come to take you out of this place.]
“My research is not finished yet.”
[If not now, you may never have another chance to leave.]
“For a mage, nothing is more important than research.”
[You stubborn child. Before you are a mage, you are a Human.]
“...”
[You have forgotten something precious.]
There was an opportunity now.
“I should... think about it.”
Sharle immersed herself in research through the night.
They had been granted the same day.
“Was the Magic Tower not binding you, but protecting you?”
Killian Eurasia quickly found the answer.
“Do not run from reality.”
He was calm.
“Kiel Cornelia is dead.”
He was resolute.
“I am Killian Eurasia.”
And.
“I am the man who became engaged to you.”
As always, he was confident.
Her Mind Image surged from the backlash of facing the reality she had denied all along.
‘Yes, I can trust this man.’
A Human who had endured thousands of years.
A man who counted a knight and a mage that had mastered 9-Star among his close friends.
The only one who could protect Sharle until the Seed was delivered to her.
[The Violet Magic Tower opens a hidden space.]
“Is it time for hide-and-seek now?”
“Nothing frightens a mage more than what cannot be imagined.”
Violet guided the two of them into the space she had kept hidden all along.
Now, it was time to pass on Diana Cornelia’s Seed.
But then.
[...!!]
Before she could react, a man slipped into the space.
And then.
The Divine Power and Evil Energy that had been waiting for an opening began to surround Violet.
***
The moment he entered the space.
Killian realized that something had begun to change.
‘I see.’
Memories spanning hundreds of years flowed into his mind.
The Violet Magic Tower.
The personality of the Magic Tower whom Diana had named ‘Violet.’
Why she had given him Hazard’s egg.
And.
‘Diana. You left behind a Seed.’
Mages who refuse death become Liches and obtain Life Vessels.
They research endlessly in pursuit of a new realm.
But that was never a method of reaching Transcendence.
One could never reach Transcendence with a polluted rank.
Diana Cornelia, another close friend who had come closer to Transcendence than anyone after Edan, knew that fact better than anyone.
So before she died, she devoted herself to leaving behind the essence of herself in the form of magic.
To an ordinary person who obtained it, it would be no more than an old spellbook, and even to a talented mage who obtained it, it would remain knowledge of theories they could not realize.
For the Seed to fully take effect, it had to be someone outstanding enough to accept it, someone who could synchronize with Diana’s conviction without losing themselves.
“Well, if the Magic Tower recognizes her, there should be no problem.”
Seeing Sharle’s vacant expression, she appeared to be in the process of accepting the Seed.
He thought that all he needed to do now was wait quietly for her to accept the Seed.
“How astonishing. You gave the Magic Tower a personality.”
At the uninvited guest’s voice, Killian’s face hardened.
Someone who should not have been before him stood there.
“White Duke.”
“We meet again like this.”
Killian clicked his tongue at the sight of the man whose robes fluttered.
“I did think it strange when I heard that the one under the Violet Magic Tower’s protection had collapsed.”
“But seeing that you let me in here, it seems you noticed one step too late.”
Evil Energy surged from the black object the White Duke held in his hand.
‘A Magic God Stone?’
Since entering this space, Killian had been unable to use Mana as he wished.
That was likely why the White Duke used a Magic God Stone rather than magic as well.
“Diana Cornelia’s Seed. I have unexpectedly gained a treasure I never imagined.”
Despite his calm words, greed flashed in the old mage’s eyes.
“Who gave you the right?”
And of all things, it was the Empire’s dog who coveted the essence his close friend had built over a lifetime.
“Violet. Are you going to keep listening to this nonsense?”
Ding.
[The Violet Magic Tower expresses displeasure at the uninvited guest’s intrusion.]
“What cannot be imagined cannot be realized through magic.”
The White Duke spoke as he looked at Killian.
[The Violet Magic Tower announces that not the slightest shock may be inflicted while Sharle accepts the Seed.]
“That also means that anything can be realized through magic if it can be imagined.”
The master of the White Magic Tower, who had absorbed the research of the master of the Black Magic Tower, declared.
[The Violet Magic Tower synchronizes with Killian Eurasia.]
“Killian Eurasia. You must understand what I mean.”
A mage who wished to reach 9-Star did not hide his greed.
“I understand perfectly.”
A sword made of violet Mana appeared in Killian’s hand.
Adamas.
The Magic Sword who had counted two friends that mastered 9-Star.
“A mage who gives up imagining cannot reach 9-Star.”
He swung it down.
