Reincarnated With A System Of Different Genre
Chapter 150: Heir Of The Dark One
When Grozni Gefährlich Morozov Höllenbrand regained consciousness, the first thing he realized was that he had finally escaped the Ruins of Reincarnation.
The second thing he realized, was that his new body was pitifully weak.
To make matters worse, it wasn’t even the body of a living creature.
He had awakened as nothing more than an ordinary skeleton.
Fortunately, Grozni wasn’t the type to be discouraged by such trivial matters.
After all, being dead had its own advantages.
He no longer needed food, sleep, or rest, and his affinity with Dark Mana was far greater in the initial stage than it had been during his previous life.
However, after carefully examining his surroundings, he immediately sensed another problem.
Countless gazes were fixed upon him.
After observing for several days, he eventually concluded that they originated from numerous Observation Spells spread throughout the dungeon.
Someone, was constantly watching this place.
Realizing that any unusual behavior would immediately attract suspicion, Grozni abandoned all thoughts of acting differently.
Instead, he behaved exactly like an ordinary skeleton.
He wandered aimlessly through the dungeon, occasionally attacking students before pretending to be destroyed and quietly rebuilding himself elsewhere.
All while carefully listening to every conversation that reached his ears.
At the same time, he quietly increased his own strength without drawing unnecessary attention.
Time passed.
The insignificant skeleton eventually evolved into a Skeleton Mage.
Only then did Grozni begin laying the true foundation of his plans.
Secretly, he gathered countless skeletons, zombies, and other lesser undead before placing each of them under one of his own spells.
[Death’s Silent Gathering].
It was a unique mental spell that linked every controlled undead directly to him.
Whenever one of those undead was destroyed, fragments of the killer’s memories flowed back through the spell.
Individually, those memories were insignificant.
Some contained only a few words.
Others revealed small habits or pieces of common knowledge.
But over time, thousands of insignificant fragments gradually formed an enormous collection of information.
Months later, Grozni understood almost everything he needed.
He learned the name of the school imprisoning him.
He understood the customs of the current era.
He became familiar with the structure of human society, the political powers of the world, and even the way people thought.
By the time he escaped, he intended to appear as though he had lived in this era his entire life.
His escape plan itself was surprisingly simple.
During his observations, he noticed that the dungeon received far fewer visitors on weekends.
Sometimes only small groups of students entered.
Occasionally, no one entered at all.
That discovery gave birth to a straightforward plan.
He would capture several students alive, use them as bargaining chips, and force the school to release him.
According to everything he had learned, the current era valued peace far more than strength.
People negotiated and authorities protected lives.
Hostages... would be an effective weapon.
Had this been his own era, however, such an idea would’ve been laughable.
Back then, escaping meant slaughtering everyone before they even had the chance to negotiate.
The modern world had become civilized.
And civilization itself would become Grozni’s greatest advantage.
Silently and patiently, he continued preparing for the day of his return.
Eventually, the Skeleton Mage advanced once more and became a Hollow Lich.
With his newfound strength, he secretly subdued every Hollow Lich and every Undead Knight residing on the sixth floor, forcing them to obey his commands while remaining hidden from the school’s surveillance.
After securing complete control over the strongest undead, he began constructing an elaborate trap for the students who would eventually reach the deepest floor.
Every Hollow Lich except himself was replaced by an illusionary duplicate capable of emitting the exact same pressure as the original.
The Undead Knights received the same treatment.
Only one genuine Undead Knight remained outside.
Its sole purpose was to guide unsuspecting students toward the location where Grozni intended to capture them.
Satisfied that every preparation had been completed, Grozni finally emerged from hiding.
Seated upon a magnificent throne crafted entirely from bones, he allowed four Hollow Liches to carry him while two Undead Knights marched ahead as his personal guards.
He had hidden for long enough.
Now, the world would once again witness the brilliance of Grozni Gefährlich Morozov Höllenbrand.
As he calmly considered what he should do after escaping the dungeon, an indescribable chill suddenly spread throughout his soul.
His thoughts came to an abrupt halt.
Someone was looking at him.
His escorts continued marching forward without interruption, but Grozni himself froze.
Living countless years, he had mastered innumerable forbidden arts and explored Forbidden Ruins that no sane person dared approach.
Within those ruins were records of ancient beings whose names had long since vanished from history.
They weren’t merely powerful.
They were taboo.
Existences that should never be spoken of but only revered.
Long ago, Grozni had once experienced the pressure of one such being.
The memory had remained engraved upon his soul ever since.
And when he had met that being, the surrounding Dark Mana had trembled unknowingly.
Dark Spirits had instinctively fallen silent.
Every creature connected to darkness and negative existence had unconsciously lowered itself before that overwhelming majesty.
That feeling, could never be mistaken.
And now...
As Grozni looked toward a blue-haired boy who believed himself perfectly concealed, he felt that same indescribable presence surrounding him.
’Impossible!’
That existence had been erased from history itself.
Yet its aura lingered upon this child.
For the first time since escaping the Ruins of Reincarnation, Grozni felt genuine excitement.
He had finally understood why fate had allowed him to return.
Without the slightest hesitation, he mentally ordered his escort to change direction.
The entire procession quietly turned toward the hidden blue-haired boy.
As their eyes finally met, Grozni slowly rose from his throne before speaking in a tone filled with absolute certainty.
"Heir of the Dark One..." he declared, his voice echoing across the silent ruins.
There was no trace of hesitation in his words.
"Become my disciple."
