Chapter 2045: The Power Of Luck
—–
Analyzing the new Sub Stats one by one made me realize just how fascinating they truly were.
Chaos Balance felt like an outright cheat. It drastically reduced the chances of negative random events, meaning I was far less likely to stumble into my own death.
Hidden Fortune sounded incredibly promising. The idea of stumbling upon hidden paths, secrets, and treasures filled me with genuine excitement.
And finally, there was Synchronicity. It worked similarly to Strength’s “Resonance,” aligning Luck with my other stats and amplifying their effects whenever chance came into play.
And that was without even considering the new Skill…

[Lucky Strike: Lv1]
[Type]: Active
[Skill Proficiency]: 0/10,000
[Description]: The embodiment of Luck’s soul manifests in your next Physical or Magical Attack, greatly increasing the chances of landing a Critical Hit. Critical Hits multiply damage dealt by x10 and ignore 50% of a target’s Defenses.
[Effects]:
Active Effect (1): Your next physical or magical attack has a greatly increased chance of becoming a Critical Hit. Grants +35% Critical Chance for 30 seconds.
Resonance Bonus (1): When synchronized with Sylphy, Lucky Strike further increases Critical Chance by an additional +15% and amplifies all Sub-Stats by +10%.
[Cooldown]: 90 seconds.

“This is amazing!” I said, unable to contain my excitement. “If we go into full synchro, that’s 50% Critical Chance for thirty seconds… I can land multiple hits in that time. Some of them are bound to be critical, right?”
“Indeed,” Alice replied. “The cooldown is quite long for now, but as the skill levels up, the cooldown should decrease, making it far less limiting.”
“Excellent. This is definitely going to become my go-to skill against strong foes and bosses,” I said, nodding as I rubbed my chin. “Anyway…”
I grinned and patted Luck’s shoulder, meeting her gleaming eyes. “Nice to meet you, Luck. I hope we can work well together from now on. As you can see, my luck has been terribly low… but maybe it’s finally time to turn that curse into a blessing.”
“…”
Luck nodded once. Suddenly, all her floating dice spun at once, landing on various high numbers. A gentle shower of golden sparkles rained down on me, and I felt a mysterious surge of energy flow through my body. Was this the power of the Plane of Fate?
“Eh? Wait, what’s happening?!” I exclaimed as I suddenly felt Luck merging with me through Synchronicity.
Ding!
[Due to [Luck]’s Synchronicity activating for the first time, your next major encounter has been slightly influenced toward a favorable outcome.]
[Hidden Fortune has triggered! You have discovered a concealed treasure node nearby.]
My eyes widened in shock. “Wait, what?! Hidden Fortune activates like this?! What are Treasure Nodes? I’ve never even heard of them before…”
Aquarina looked equally surprised. “Me neither. I have no idea what the hell that is… but it sounds interesting. Why don’t we look around?”
“I-I guess there’s nothing else to do right now… Oh?” My eyes glowed as I noticed a faint golden path leading somewhere. “Wait, is that where the Treasure Node is?”
We began searching through the devastated remains of the first layer. Where the Treant King had once stood, the ground had cracked open, revealing a small, previously buried ruin—the exact spot the golden path was guiding me toward.
Yggdra’s roots helped clear away the debris, and soon we found it: a half-buried ornate chest glowing with soft rainbow light, completely untouched by the curse. It looked as though it had been hidden there for centuries.
“Alice, do you know how this appeared?” I asked. “Was this really Luck’s doing? Did she just create a treasure?”
“No, that’s not possible,” Alice said, though she sounded uncertain. “However… perhaps Treasure Nodes have simply never been discovered before. I believe they are large accumulations of Magical Energy and Divine Power within Dungeons that randomly form deep underground. They are often hidden and nearly impossible to reach normally, eventually manifesting as these treasure chests. How incredible… Dungeons truly are like living beings.”
“Well, why don’t we see what’s inside?” Aquarina asked with a grin. “You’re practically sparkling gold right now, so I bet you’re excited.”
“Am I? Ah, it must be because I fused with Luck…” I said. “We also have a friend named Luck, so this might get a little confusing when he returns.”
“Hahaha, maybe,” Aquarina laughed. “Anyway, I’m getting impatient. Open it!”
Yggdra used her large roots to drag the heavy chest closer. The moment I touched it, the chest opened on its own.
[Congratulations, you have found a Hidden Treasure Node!]
[You have received the following rewards]:
[Ancient Spirit Fortune Coin (S Grade) (Consumable)] x3
Said to permanently increase Luck by a small amount when used.
[Crystalized Blessing of the Wandering God (S+ Grade) (Consumable)]
Said to permanently increase the Divine Favor Stat by a small amount when used.
[Dungeon Core Fragment (SS Grade)]
Gather four to create an Empty Dungeon Core, or feed it to your Dungeon to make it stronger.
“Wait, what?!” I gasped. “Items that permanently increase a stat?! These rewards…”
“I… must have misjudged,” Alice said, clearly shocked. “Luck really does seem capable of creating or at least altering existing things with her power. How incredible… The Treasure Node must have been a large accumulation of energies that her influence targeted through the Reward System.”
“That’s just insane, isn’t it?” I muttered, staring at the small golden coins. “Well… how do I use these? Do I just eat them or—”
FLASH!
Before I could finish, the three coins vanished, melting into my hands and becoming part of me.
Ding!
[You have consumed the [Ancient Spirit Fortune Coin (S Grade)] x3!]
[Your Total Luck has increased by +14.]
[Total Luck]: [4]
“My Luck! It increased to 4! T-This is insane… I had no idea stat-boosting items like this even existed!” I exclaimed.
“They must be brand-new creations,” Alice explained. “Only the power of a living concept of fortune could produce such miraculous items.”
“Then…”
I quickly used the Crystalized Blessing. This time, it was Luck who received the boost.
Ding!
[You have consumed the [Crystalized Blessing of the Wandering God (S+ Grade) (Consumable)]!]
[Your Luck Stat’s Divine Favor has increased by +30.]
In what felt like a single moment, my terrible, endlessly negative luck had finally begun to change. Not only had it improved, but I had even gained a significant amount of Divine Favor.
And as if that weren’t enough, I now had the chance to create an “empty” Dungeon Core, which opened up all kinds of intriguing possibilities.
“Well, we’ve been here for a while. Shall we move on to the second layer?” I asked.
“Sure,” Aquarina nodded.
“Sylphy, wait! You’ve forgotten to pick up your rewards!” Alice reminded me.
“Oh? Ah, you’re right!” I quickly opened the Reward System. New notifications appeared, and items began flying toward me from every direction. “Huh? Wait… Eh?!”
The rewards had been greatly multiplied and improved in quality, far beyond what I had imagined, all while the Luck Spirit gleamed brightly beside me.
