Chapter 1861: Reunion

“There’s so much I need to show you!” I said. “Ah—right, we should go meet everyone else!”
“Yeah, yeah, anything you want!” Aquarina wiped away a little tear. “I love you so much, Sylphy…”
“E-Eh? Heheh… I love you even more!” I hugged her, kissing her cheek. “See? It wasn’t even that long! We’re finally together again.”
I still remembered how much she cried back then, how she said she would hate being away from me.
But now… I was pretty sure she enjoyed that journey.
“Yeah… but even then… it did feel a little long to me,” Aquarina said, lifting me again and carrying me like her princess. “I made a lot of friends and stuff, and I miss them dearly, but… I’m also really happy to be with you again…”
“Me too!” I said, giving her another kiss. “I love, love, love, love you!”
I couldn’t stop myself from acting like a dummy. I was so happy—it felt like I could finally let out all these repressed feelings and just be with her again.
“Nuh-uh, I love you even more than that!” Aquarina giggled, kissing me again.
After another minute, we finally calmed down a little, sighing in relief as my father walked toward us with Aquarina’s parents…
Ah—right. Her parents! Oh my goodness, they must have seen everything! I’m so embarrassed.
I immediately covered my face, mortified, and bowed my head in apology. We were already adults—we shouldn’t be acting like kids.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to make such a scene…!” I stammered. “I-I couldn’t contain myself…”
“Why are you apologizing, Sylphy?! It’s fine!” Aquarina said, wrapping her arm around my back. “There’s nothing wrong with showing our love! Right?”
“B-But…” I mumbled, still feeling a little dumb.
“Hahaha! Oh please, Sylphy, I know you’re usually a reserved young lady, but don’t worry—we’re all family here now!” Nepheline laughed, patting my head. “I missed you a whole lot too, my dear daughter-in-law. Come to mama for a big hug!”
“E-Eeeh?!”
Before I could react, Nepheline scooped me into her big arms and hugged me tightly, then proceeded to kiss me all over my face.
“Uwaaahh!”
I was completely overwhelmed, blushing so hard I must’ve looked like a tomato. Aquarina’s mama had the same intensity as her—it was too much!
“Mom, stop kissing her!” Aquarina huffed, a little jealous. “Look, she’s all flustered now—poor Sylphy.”
Aquarina rescued me from her mother’s love assault, pulling me into her arms and pressing my face against her chest… Oh. They were definitely bigger now. And she smelled so nice.
“Hahaha, calm down, Aquarina. I wasn’t going to steal your girlfriend or anything—I just missed her! Isn’t she cute?” Nepheline laughed. “Don’t you agree, Shade?”
“Huh?” Shade blinked. “I mean, yes. I’m glad to see you again, Sylphy. It seems you’ve grown stronger… your Aura is powerful. And I can even detect Alchemy Runes within you…”
“Yep! I’ve been growing a lot in my own way, thanks to Master Felicia!” I nodded proudly. “Her Alchemy training goes beyond just potions and accessories.”
“Oh really?! Well, now I’m intrigued!” Nepheline said. “Been a while since I’ve seen that old witch. Where is she now?”
“Right behind you, Nepheline. You’re just as big as I remember…” Master Felicia’s voice echoed behind her.
“Felicia! By the Gods, you’re as cute as ever, hahaha! You haven’t changed one bit, girl!” Nepheline laughed, lifting Felicia and planting a kiss on her cheek.
“Eek! Do you have to kiss me?!” Felicia groaned, pushing her face away with her tiny hands. Though she looked embarrassed, she didn’t seem that mad. “Your Amazonian customs haven’t changed at all, huh?!”
“Haha, sorry, sorry! My bad, little Felicia—there we go,” Nepheline giggled, setting her down and patting her head.
“Sorry about that, Felicia. Nepheline’s been rather hyperactive lately… Ah, right,” Shade said, and that’s when I noticed a baby behind him. “Your dad already saw her, but yes—this is our new daughter. Esmeralda. Aquarina’s little sister.”
“Awaah?”
A beautiful baby girl peeked out, crawling up Shade’s shoulder as he gently lifted her into his arms.
She looked so much like Aquarina! Except her skin was darker, her eyes were a vivid green, and her hair had a more metallic silvery-white sheen compared to Aquarina’s soft, almost pearly white.
Wait—she had a sister?!
I kind of knew something about it but…
“Ohhh! You’re so cuteeeee!”
I rushed toward her, but Esmeralda must’ve gotten scared. She kicked my chin with a tiny battle cry.
“Gyaaah!”
CLASH!
“Ugh?!”
“ESMERALDA?!”
Her parents and Aquarina gasped in horror as I stumbled back. Aquarina panicked, rushing to my side while Shade broke into a nervous sweat.
“How could you hit her?! She’s your sister’s wife! Be more respectful!” Nepheline scolded the baby, who immediately burst into tears.
“Buuuuaaaahhh! Wuuuaaahhh!”
Shade sighed, gently bouncing her in his arms. “I’m really sorry, Sylphy… are you okay?”
“I-I’m fine, don’t worry, hahah…” I giggled, rubbing my chin. “I guess I scared her. I got a little too excited, my bad…”
“Still, this wasn’t supposed to be how you met her… she’s so damn unruly for some reason!” Aquarina sighed. “Nothing like when I was her age!”
“Heheh, yeah, I remember you were much shier,” I said. “But I guess that’s just her personality! She’s more like her mom in that regard, right?”
“Ohhh, you’re not wrong, Sylphy!” Nepheline nodded. “Aquarina was always a lot like her dad—even in appearance. But Esmeralda? She got more from me, haha! Right, brat? Don’t hit Sylphy again, okay?”
“Bubuhh…” little Esmeralda mumbled, rubbing her face against her mama’s chest.
“Come on, don’t be sad. Here,” I said, pulling out a little cookie. “I noticed she’s got sharp teeth, so I’m sure she can have a little cookie, right?”
“Oohhh?!” Esmeralda quickly grabbed the cookie I offered to her, eating it happily. “Nom, nom! Nam! Nam! Namnam!”
It looked like she loved it, as she ate the cookie without hesitation.
Heh, well, I’m happy for her.
