Chapter 1719: Quetzal’s Powers
Chapter 1719: Quetzal’s Powers
—–
Agua’s power didn’t just awaken, but it began to rapidly evolve. With her new Physique and its many abilities, combined with her vast knowledge of spells and her great manipulation of spiritual energy and mana, and of course, with Shelly by her side, she was becoming an incredible fighter.
From merely a magician that chose to stay behind the big fighters, she was now stepping into the center stage, unleashing attacks that could only be comparable to the techniques that Aquarina unleashed, but at the same time, very unique to her own specializations.
“That was amazing, Agua…”
Quetzalcoatl, who took a glimpse at her strength, seemed to have grown to admire her even more as well. Of course, he admired everyone else too. But Agua’s gentle personality and her kindness towards him kind of made him become more amazed by her feats than with the rest.
Perhaps it had to do with her being someone living in this Oasis like his tribe once did, or that she knew a lot about the Wind Tribe, or perhaps a lot of other factors… But he seemed happy to see how truly strong she was.
“SHYAAAAH!”
BBBZZZTTT!
And as Quetzalcoatl smiled while glancing at her, the swarm of giant flying fire ants approached him, their wings moving so fast that they generated a very loud and annoying buzzing sound.
“Right, you… I have to take care of you.”
Beneath him, there was already over fifty ants he had singlehandedly taken on his own, the power he had gained from awakening his Soul as a Spiritual Soul was immense.
And alongside this feeling of strength, there was also a strange, lingering sensation of dread and guilt for what he might have done in the past.
That his soul looked almost completely identical to the Great Spirit of the Cliff Winds was already too much of a coincidence for him.
Perhaps it wasn’t that the Great Spirit only watched and then disappeared after the Wind Tribe disappeared too, but…
Maybe it did fight him, and it did try to stop him, but ultimately…
Quetzalcoatl could have somehow defeated it and absorbed its powers, one way or another, through thousands of years of fighting.
Whether this was the truth or not, he didn’t really know, and he would rather never know either, his past was already tormenting him so much, he didn’t really want more things to hold him back
And when there were people here, all relying on him, cursed or not, the power he had… He knew he had to use it for good.
RUMBLE!
The skies trembled, two giant Aura Beasts emerged, resembling giant spiders made of crimson and golden flames, he looked at the bugs behind, surprised.
“It still is surprising how insect monsters can do this… Whoever is your leader, they have taught you well how to imitate people’s powers.”
His sharp claws overflowed with swirling emerald winds, as his entire emerald-colored, feathered armor made of spiritual energies within his soul began growing stronger.
“{Spiritual Wind Burst}”
TRUUUM!
With an immense burst of windy power, Quetzalcoatl rushed through the skies, reaching the two giant Aura Beasts, who hissed at him, swinging their giant, long legs at him. Each of these giant spiders were over thirty meters of heigh, and had big, long, and sharp legs resembling massive spears.
Blazing with deadly flames that could burn it all, they moved through the skies at lightning speed, aiming to impale Quetzalcoatl’s entire body or try to burn him to ashes in the process.
However…
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
Explosions of emerald winds erupted with each blow, as he singlehandedly caught all attacks, despite how gigantic and overwhelming they seemed, with his bare hands.
Of course, the hands of the members of the Wind Tribe weren’t as weak as the hands a human was born with.
As a Bird-type Anima, his hands were covered on hard scales and were the same as the talons of raptorial beasts, with giant, sharp claws made to tear flesh out of freshly caught prey.
With them, further strengthened with his Tier 8 Physique and the power of his newly awakened Great Spirit Soul, Quetzalcoatl was…
Overwhelmingly superior.
His attacks condensed to the point where winds rippled through space, manifesting such an enormous shockwave that an explosion of spiraling emerald winds consumed the two Aura Beasts in front of him in an instant.
BOOOMMM!!!
The ants controlling the two Aura Beasts started bleeding from their big, bubbly eyes and vomiting green blood from their mandibles, looking weakened.
“Hmph, it seems that you take a backlash when your Aura Beast is destroyed… You haven’t truly mastered this power, and are merely obeying the orders of your Leader,” Quetz nodded. “Alright.”
FLASH!
With a kick in the skies, he spread out his wings and flapped them rapidly, reaching the ants in a single second. The ants roared back, firing hundreds of fireballs at him…
And yet.
“I’m getting the hang of my abilities… I am not as weak as I once was. I must use this strength to help and save others… to make up for the horrible things I’ve done.”
As he closed his eyes, his aura transformed, the emerald winds manifested and combined into hundreds of arrows.
“The bows and arrows that my people used to hunt our food…”
He imagined them and then projected them, each arrow was suddenly being held by a spiritual being, a silhouette of a winged person.
“{Spiritual Wind Soul Arts}: {Wind Tribe’s Hunting Arrows}”
The manifestations, made from his own memories, fired the arrows one after another, piercing the bodies of dozens of giant flying fire ants, exploding into cutting winds and slicing them apart.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!
The destruction was simply ridiculous, and the skies, with his ability, were fully cleansed from all flying creatures, none, absolutely none survived.
“Haah… Haah… I… I did it…? This power… And it doesn’t even feel like I’ve used it all yet?”
He looked around, noticing the silhouettes he had created born from his memories of his people, who suddenly looked back at him.
Smiling, and waving their hands
“E-Eh? Sister…?”
FLASH!
Before turning into winds and disappearing…
“…”
He looked down, confused.
Was this truly his ability or something else?
Was this his mind playing tricks with him?
And why did that silhouette that waved their hand at him look so much like his sister?
