Reincarnated as an Energy with a System

Chapter 1716 1716: Torris Ann Glow

“Why. Won’t. You. Fall?!?!”

The leader of the enemy soldiers tried his best to swing down at Shara and kill her, but no matter how much he tried, he failed to hit her even once.

Shara’s power that allowed her to pass through things without touching them made it simply impossible for her to get hit. Not to mention, the man’s power to shut down senses simply did not work on her and he could not figure out why at all.

Shara had multiple opportunities to kill the man, but it was hard for her to just do so without much thought. Every time she had the chance, she hesitated.

Was this the right thing to do? She did not even know this man. The most she knew was that he had only come here to do a job that he was made to do. Nothing about it made him a person that deserved to die.

She simply dragged the fight, using the opportunity to see how well her skills were in a real fight. Every time she tried to do something without her powers, she realized that she was quickly overwhelmed.

She had to use her powers to survive.

She needed more than just a touch to take away someone’s energy, so the man still had his powers. But he was using it up on her, and that made her feel bad. That was wasted energy she could have used later on.

“Shara, step back!” Ning’s voice came from the side.

Without so much thought, Shara activated her powers and quickly jumped backward before looking around to see the situation. Most of the soldiers were down on the ground, either dead or incapacitated.

The soldiers on their team were wounded as well, but the woman had been brought out onto the battlefield to heal those who were gravely injured.

The woman had no choice but to do as they said. If she didn’t, she would have to run away from here and that wasn’t something she wanted to do.

The ones that were not wounded had run to the horses, stopping the others from running away and acquiring travel solutions for themselves.

It was a shame that they were so late to it though. Nearly half the horses had already run away and only a dozen of them were remaining. That wasn’t enough for all of them to ride, but then they didn’t have to ride.

The leader of the Allied soldiers walked up to the haggard enemy leader and stood in front of him, a head taller than him. He looked down on him, despite their current attire.

Matthew looked way more of a leader than the other man.

“You…” the enemy leader said slowly. “You are one of the runaway prisoners, aren’t you?’

“I am their leader, yes,” Matthew said.

“What do you want from me?” he asked.

“Nothing,” Matthew said and decapitated the leader with a slice.

The dead man fell to the ground with a large thump and Matthew took a deep breath. He turned to the side, his eyes narrowing at the sight of Shara standing there.

He looked at her for a moment before turning back to look at Ning in the distance who was helping the soldiers loot the corpses. He had noticed the both of them using powers. It would be hard not to given how they were both flaunting it around.

He said nothing and reached for the leader’s clothes. He shuffled through his body for a while before finding what he was looking for.

“What’s that?” Ning asked, coming close at this point.

“Most of the high-ranking soldiers are off in the war, fighting for their kingdom. The ones not ranked high enough usually are forced to follow someone else’s order. And because they are following orders, it means that they will have a written decree on them.”

He showed the piece of paper and unfolded it to read what was written inside.

Immediately upon reading, the man’s eyes widened in shock. He quickly got up, turning toward the woman in the distance.

Ning had seen the paper too and read the text. It said, ‘The daughter of Torris Ann Glow has been seen in the city of Toma, masquerading as a healer. Find her and bring her back, either dead or alive.’

‘Torris Ann Glow?’ Ning thought curiously. It was a noble’s name no doubt, but he was curious who that person was. At least the name was enough to cause the leader to find something shocking.

He quickly followed the leader, going with him up to the woman who was with one of the lightly wounded men, healing their wound.

Matthew stopped right before him and looked down at her. She looked up at him, confused. “What?” she asked.

“You are Torris Ann Glow’s daughter?” he asked.

The woman’s eyes were immediately filled with panic. She looked up, trying to judge the situation. “What if I am?” she asked.

“You had a brother too, didn’t you?” he asked.

The woman froze with that question. “How… how do you know that?” she asked.

“What happened to your father and brother?” the man asked.

The woman shook her head. “I don’t know. They died in the war,” she said.

“Do you know anything about the circumstances surrounding your father and brother’s death?” the leader asked.

The woman frowned. “How am I supposed to know?” she asked. “They died in the war.”

Matthew frowned. “So did nothing weird happen back at home?” he asked.

“Something weird? Of course, it happened,” the woman said, her words coming out with a wave of fury. “Those bastards said my father was a traitor. He went over to the enemy side and was killed in the process. My brother did the same too. But how could he just go over to the other side, leaving behind Mother and me? I refuse to believe it.”

The leader looked at her for a long time. “You are right to refuse. They never defected.”

The woman looked up. “How would you know?” she asked.

“Because… I was there, fighting him when he died.”
