Chapter 1675: Oly

Chapter 1675: Oly

Ning thought for a bit. “Would you give me a moment to converse with my sister?” he asked. “We will decide whether to take you with us or not.”

The woman nodded. “Of course, please decide.”

“Thank you,” Ning said and went back to the cart with Shara.

‘What are we doing?’ Shara asked. ‘Are we going to let her come with us?’

‘I don’t want to, but the truth is we need more people with us,’ Ning said. ‘Just two people on the road, one a girl and another a man without a left arm is too easily noticeable. If we add her, that’s a group of 3.’

Shara thought for a moment and nodded. ‘If you say so. That does sound good and all.’

‘And of course, she will only be with us for the day,’ Ning said.

‘What if she is a bandit though?’ Shara asked. ‘Surely we’re not going to go right into a trap, are we?’

‘Hopefully not,’ Ning said. ‘I will try to ask people on the way if we’re on the right track.’

Shara nodded. ‘That should be doable then.’

They talked for a few more minutes and then went back to the woman who had been waiting for them patiently. “Oh, have you two decided?” she asked.

“To Jameen only, right?” Ning asked.

“Just Jameen,” the woman said.

“Alright then, you may join us,” Ning said and gave out his right hand for a shake. “I’m Maurice.”

The woman smiled and grabbed his hand. “Oly,” she said simply.

“I’m Mora. We’re glad to have you, Oly,” Shara said, giving out her own hand.

Oly happily smiled and shook Shara’s hand as well. Oly’s face changed a little when Shara shook her hand, her eyes wandering around for a moment.

“Is everything alright?” Ning asked the woman.

“Yes, yes. Everything is… fine. I just felt a bit of vertigo for a moment,” she said. “I must be lacking sleep.”

“You may sleep in our cart. It’s not much of a sleeping station, but it’s something,” Ning said. “Thank you. That would be lovely,” the woman said as she dragged her horse by its leash and tied it to the back of the cart where she tied it. There it would rest for now.

The woman went in and laid down on Shara’s makeshift bed.

Shara looked toward Ning and nodded slightly. Ning raised an eyebrow in surprise. So he is correct in having Shara shake her hands with the woman.

This woman had some sort of power with her. And it had been stripped away now. Shara had reaped it away.

Ning gave her a secret thumbs up and left to go feed the horses. The horses had woken up already and were looking for food. Ning felt hungry himself as well.

So, he took the horses to graze with Shara while also simultaneously gathering berries they could find along the way.

Ning had some idea about berries of this word, and Shara seemed to know the right type to pick as well. They ignored the ones they did not recognize and only stuck with the ones they were absolutely sure they could eat.

They gathered a few for the woman as well and brought it back to her an hour later. But by that time, the woman was already fast asleep. She truly seemed tired.

Ning pulled a sugar cube out from his inventory and fed the horse that she had come with.

Ning and Shara washed up afterward and ate the salted meat they had brought along with them. After washing the taste town with fresh water from the ever-filled bottle, they were ready to leave.

Shara sat at the back and Ning went to the front. The horses began moving the cart and soon everyone was back on the road. They crossed the bridge and went along their way.

The day was slightly cloudy, which Ning liked. It would have been horrible to have to sit through the blisteringly hot sun throughout the day given how long it would take to reach Jameen.

They didn’t see anyone on the road for some time before Ning saw someone coming toward them from the other side. He stopped the cart and the other man stopped his cart as well, seemingly wary of what Ning was planning on doing.

However, Ning only had the question of if they were going in the right direction. The man answered that they were on and moved on.

Ning and Shara felt relieved that they hadn’t let a liar get into the cart.

Oly was still asleep for half a day before she got up past noon. She woke up, looking around. She seemed confused as to where she was at first but then remembered what she was doing there.

“Oh, hey. Did I sleep for too long?” she asked.

“It’s been about 7 hours,” Ning answered.

“Oh… good,” she said and looked back. “Ugh, she looks tired. I hope we reach soon. How far along are we?”

“I’m not sure,” Ning said. “I don’t know how long it takes to reach Jameen.”

“If you aren’t slow, you usually do it in half a day,” she said and looked outside. “Hmm… I

don’t recognize this place well enough to say how far along we are too.”

“We are on the right track, are we not?” Ning asked.

“Oh yeah,” she said. “Did we cross the large river yet?” she asked.

“River?” Ning asked.

“There’s a river here that flows to the Bay of Riches. It’s a wide one. I don’t think we’re there yet, so we should be getting there soon enough,” she said. “When we do, can you stop for a moment, please? I need to wash up.”

“Okay,” Ning said. “Now that you are awake though, I wish to ask a question if you don’t

mind.”

“Sure, ask ahead,” the woman said. Searᴄh the nôᴠel Fire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Why are you in a hurry to go to Jameen?” Ning asked. “There is a reason why you rushed through the night in your horse, isn’t there?”
