Chapter 1547: Sales Pitch

Chapter 1547: Sales Pitch

Night had come and all the lights in the ceilings were turned off. There were still lights on the many buildings and pathways, that let people return back to their homes.

Ning, however, was leaving his home, and making his way somewhere.

He walked past a whole lot of people in the street, finally arriving at the cafe he had come to a few days ago. Thankfully, it was still open and in business.

In fact, there were quite a number of people that were here after work to enjoy their free time after a long day of work.

There were quite a few people in military uniform, mostly sitting together to enjoy a nice cup of tea. Ning, however, didn’t go meet them, despite wearing his Cadet uniform.

Instead, he made his way to a corner of the cafe that was somewhat in the dark and sat down. He put his large bag on the table next to him and ordered a cup of tea for himself.

He looked around, watching the bustling crowd, searching for someone. He couldn’t see the man he was looking for, so he would have to wait for a bit.

Ning sat around for nearly an hour, during which many of the people began leaving. Most of them went back home, which included the military people who had work the very next morning. They couldn’t spend time in a cafe.

However, the ones that remained, it was them that he had been searching for.

Ning located the man he was looking for, the one he had walked into on the first day coming here.

The man wore some rather expensive clothes today as well, with his long hair still parted on two sides.

He sat with 3 other people, none of which he recognized. But seeing as how they were talking, he had no doubt that these people were from the gang as well.

‘Where is the bald guy? Is he working somewhere else?’ Ning wondered. Of the two people he was told about, one was the man with long hair parted in two, and the other was a bald guy with apparently a scar on the side of his lips.

He had yet to see that man.

Ning could wait for both of them to be here, but that didn’t matter. As long as the next few minutes went decently, he would meet the bald man one way or another.

He picked up his bag and walked to their group.

“Hey, brothers, what is up?” Ning asked as he arrived next to the group. The group shut up immediately, all heads turning to look at him.

It wasn’t just them either. Ning could see multiple heads from all around the cafe turning to look at him. Someone from the military talking to them raised a lot of unwanted questions for these people, that they absolutely wanted nothing to do with.

“What do you want?” one of the men asked.

Ning ignored him and addressed the man who was clearly the leader.

“Look, I saw you from afar and wanted to apologize to you for the last time,” Ning said.

The man frowned. “Who are you?” he asked.

“Oh… it’s me,” Ning said. “The guy that smashed into you and spilled your tea on you. I bought you another tea.”

“Oh…” the man said. “It’s alright. I don’t mind what happened that day. You can leave.”

“No, no,” Ning said, pulling a chair from the side tables to sit down beside them. “How could it be with just that? Let me make it up to you.”

“Listen… sir,” the man spoke with gritted teeth. “Me and my friends here want some time to enjoy ourselves. Now, if you have nothing else to do, please leave.”

Ning sighed. “Is that so?” he asked. “Well, then there’s a good thing that I do have something to do. You see, I came here to meet you.”

The man turned his entire body toward Ning this time. “And why would that be?” he asked.

“Oh, simple,” the man said. “It’s because I wanted to make it up to last time. For that, I’ve brought you this.”

He slammed the heavy bag onto the table, nearly spilling all the tea in the cups there. Everyone’s eyes changed immediately, many reaching for their knives just in case.

Only the man in the center did no such thing. He sipped his tea and looked at the bag. “What is that?” he asked.

“Something that I hope you will purchase from me,” Ning said. “I will give you a discount.”

The man chuckled. “I ain’t looking to buy what you are selling my man,” he said. “Go somewhere else.”

Ning looked at the man for a long silent moment before shrugging. “If that is what you want then that is what I will do,” he said. “But just to confirm. You really don’t want this, right? If you are certain, I will go sell it to someone else, someone who might end up being your competitor.”

The man frowned. “What the hell is even this? You just slammed it on my table and said I should buy it,” he said.

Ning gestured toward the bag. “There’s no lock on it. Why don’t you open and see?” he asked.

The man couldn’t help but get curious. He wanted to see what exactly it was that he was getting himself into. He gestured for one of the men next to him to open it and show him what it was.

The other man, a lean man who was quickly balding, stood up and picked the bag up, opening its zipper. Once he opened it, he leaned it one way to get more light into the bag and looked at

it.

As he looked, his eyes widened in surprise. He quickly closed the zipper and looked at Ning with the same wide eyes. “What the hell did you bring here?” he asked.

The man with the long hair frowned. “What is it? A head of someone important? What is it?” he asked. Saʀᴄh th NvlFir.nt website on Ggl to access chapters of nvels early and in the highest quality.

“No,” the other man said and slowly opened the bag once again and leaned it toward the man this time around.

The man waited to see what it was and when he did, his eyes widened in surprise.

He grabbed the bag and pulled it in his direction, looking at the big pack of absolutely white

stuff that he was looking at.

Dust.

The bag was full of Dust.

“What is this?” the man couldn’t help but ask Ning.

“You should know what that is,” Ning said, not answering directly.

The man frowned. “I mean, I do know what that is, but I mean, what the hell are you doing

with THIS!”

“Oh, you mean that,” Ning said. “I’m selling it to you. Do you wish to purchase it?”

The man put the bag down and closed the zipper. “What made you think we will purchase

this?” he asked.

“A feeling,” Ning said. “Do you not want to?”

The man looked at Ning, trying to see through whatever disguise he thought there was on him. “You know, this sort of thing can get you kicked from the military. I should report it to

your superior.”

“Oh? Now why would you do that when you could stand to make so much money from me,” Ning said. “You can try it. It’s quality stuff I promise.”

“I have never done that stuff. I don’t deal with that thing. Take it away from me. I don’t want

it anymore,” the man said.

Ning smiled. “That’s a lie,” he said. “Come on now, brother. You are telling me you never dealt with Dust, you? I would never believe that.”

“It’s the truth,” the man said. “I’m giving you one chance. If you don’t take it away from me right now, I’ll report you to the military.”

Ning put on a frowning face and quickly brought out something from his necklace. It was a vial of slimy liquid, attached to a thread. He opened the vial and downed the liquid inside. Then, he placed his hand on the bag and suddenly there was a glow from inside the bag. Ning took his hand away. “And what will you tell the military when you bring me to them?” he asked. “What’s wrong with selling bags of dirt?”

The man looked inside the bag and felt his whole world rock around him. The bags of Dust that had been there just now, had suddenly all become brown dirt. Not a single evidence of

Dust being in the bag was there anymore.

Ning had managed to turn the entire thing from Dust into dirt in just one move.

“Converter!” he said softly. “You’re a converter.”

“Sssh!” Ning said with his finger to his lip. “Not so loudly. I don’t want the military to give me

a promotion just yet.”

“How did you do that?” he asked in a stunned voice. He still couldn’t figure it out.

“You want to see?” Ning asked. He placed his hand back on the bag and in a flash of white

light, the dirt was turned back into Dust, right before their eyes.

“How… how is this possible?” the man asked.

“I’m someone who has had intimate contact with Dust for a long time. Thanks to that, I have

managed to learn how to turn anything into Dust as long as I have a bit of Spark.”

The explanation was as shocking as the sight of it happening.

“So, tell me,” Ning said. “Do you want to reject me? Or do you all want to get just that much

richer?”
