Chapter 469: Dungeon Speedrun (2)
It had been around an hour since we started speedrunning the dungeon. Our parents did not state how long we could stay away from home. I supposed we could spend the night here, so my sister and I decided to continue our progress.
By the way, I already sent a letter to our parents regarding how things went as well as the discovery of a 70-floor dungeon. I also included our attempt to conquer it so that they would not be worried when we were late or did not go back home.
From the 51st Floor, all we could see as far as we could was the fine sands of these Desert Floors. The weather was scorching and the air was arid; we had been skipping fighting the monsters through teleportation so that we could conquer this dungeon as fast as we could.
Upon arrival in front of the Domain Guardian Room on the 60th Floor, we immediately opened the doors to see an open-air, vast desert room unlike a stony one. Let us see what we were going to fight.

Apparently, our next opponent was a War Drake, an evolution of the four-legged wingless dragon monster called Drake. I established that the dragon in front of us was around twenty-five meters long from snout to tail.
Just like its predecessors, War Drakes were renowned for their tough and hard armor, but to a greater extent. Their hide under their hard scales was also a great material for a high-quality light armor that was tough enough to withstand and absorb powerful impacts, whether it was edged, pointed, or brute.
As a dragon-type monster, drakes were also sought after in the vampiric nation for their mana-rich blood. On the overworld, these types of dragons were commonly found in the dragon’s valley within the land of the dwarves, making them quite a rare catch.
In the dungeon, they rarely spawned other than the Dragon Valley Floors, which were the 91st to 99th floors. We got a lucky roll; it spawned as a Domain Guardian.
“A War Drake, a tough fellow. But it got nothing to say to my blade.”
“You want to talk care of it, Sister?”
“Hmm. I don’t know,” she said, and then she turned her attention to our verdant companions. “How about you two? Do you want to try it?”
“A War Drake, huh? I have defeated a few of them before. I think I got the Dragon Slayer title after defeating a Drake,” Alandra said. “Would you mind if I take care of it?”
“You are free to do so.”
“Leave it to me.”
Filled with confidence, Alandra stepped in and faced the slumbering dragon. We then set ourselves aside to give her more space.
Shut.
The doors closed, and the wingless dragon finally pried its eyelids open to reveal its amber eyes. It slowly raised its body before it mightily roared to set up its Intimidation, which had little to no affect on us at all.
To round up the details of this match, it would be a fight between a spiritual being with nine hundred level against a Level 600 wingless dragon. It looked like Alandra had an advantage here, but her levels were compromised by the environment.
A tree spirits power came from the plants and trees around them, which were nonexistent in this open-air room of scorching sand. In addition, the War Drake could probably protect itself from her magic spells due to its stats, physicality, and skills.
We could not ignore the fact that she was not receiving the blessings of the World Treant at the moment due to the isolation of the dungeon. However, the stats would not determine the outcome of the fight, so let us see how things go.
“Wind Arrows.”
Alandra was the first one to initiate the battle by casting five Level 3 Wind Arrows and aiming at the dragon one by one. It was strange that she fired such a low-level spell. She was probably trying to test the waters.
The War Drake reacted to her first attacks, but it showed little wariness to them and just caught them with its bare scales. The Wind Arrows were fast, although subsonic, but it just bounced off its scales and left little scratches on it.
Rumble. Rumble.

After that, the dragon then fastly rushed toward Alandra and attempted to swipe its sharp claws on her, which she easily evaded. The War Drake continued to barrage her with its fangs, claws, and tail, but no scraped Alandra so far.
As she did, Alandra constantly fired magic spells at the dragon in between evasions. Unlike earlier, she started casting higher-level spells like Wind Blade, Water Blade, Wind Spear, Icicle Spear, and so on, which caused deeper cuts on the dragon’s body.
“Stay there, dragon.”
Suddenly, despite the environment, Alandra used the Vegetation skill to summon wooden roots from the sand and coiled them around the dragon’s legs. She also activated her Racial Skill: Overgrowth to thicken the roots and make them stronger. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
Trapped and could move, the War Drake tried to use magic and cast some Earth Magic spells at Alandra. But as expected, none of it hit her.
“GRRRAAWWW!!!”
Could not land a hit, the War Drake got frustrated, and it used all its strength to free itself from the roots, which was successful, before it performed a Breath Attack to project its fire breath toward Alandra. But she had anticipated it and she grinned as if the dragon just stepped on the trap.
“Windstorm Prison.”
Upon casting a Level 9 spell, a huge dome of fast and sharp winds was conjured around the War Drake that blocked its Breath Attack. The dragon was startled by its sudden appearance that when it tried to step back, a part of its tail became sanguine sawdust.
“Storm of No Return.”
Suddenly, the Windstorm Prison got stronger and stronger and seemed to morph slimmer. It had been slowly becoming a twister. The War Drake them began to levitate and spin violently due to the power of the spell, and the sands were being sucked in as well.
As the twister got slimmer and taller, the War Drake started to tear apart. Eventually, the Wind Magic Level 10 spell broke down the War Drake into countless tiny pieces, completely turning it into a red mush.
Unlike the Turbulence, which made its targets explode from within, the Storm of No Return was basically its opposite and compressed everything it trapped using extreme winds and air pressure. Almost nothing could escape from it. The spell was kind of similar to Force Magic Level 10: Diamond Compression and Water Magic Level 10: Oceanic Water Prison.
Splat.
“Alright. It was not as difficult as I thought. But exerting such an amount of mana sure was tiring.”
After turning off the spell, the red mush dropped to the sand. It was hard to believe that this was formerly a large War Drake. That dragon was indeed a good catch, but I already had too many in my storage, so I could not call it a waste.
“That was a big spell you got there, Alandra,” I complimented. “You sure are one of the most powerful beings in the forest.”
“I am flattered, Your Highness Raphael.”
After defeating the War Drake, we proceeded to the lower floors to challenge the Dungeon Boss at the bottom.
