Chapter 252 Steel Body
Chapter 252 Steel Body
Upon throwing ourselves into it, the Beastmuth quickly responded to our hostility and mightily swung its right front limb, shooting its hard, purple scales at us. Seeing those projectiles, we immediately swayed our bodies several times to gracefully avoid each of the scales.
With bodies enhanced by Level 10 spells, we were able to get close to it in an instant. Holding the grip of our own swords, we slashed our naked blades, intending to cut the Beastmuth’s muscular front limbs.
Cling!
However, instead of a flesh-cutting noise, a screeching metallic collision rang out. The monster had activated its Body of Steel extra skill, which insanely made its scales tougher. So tough that our swords were only able to cut an inch through it and did not go through its flesh.
“What the heck?!” Sister was flabbergasted when we stopped dashing several dozens of meters from the Beastmuth. “Our swords did not make it through!”
“Its scales are as tough as orichalcum to begin with. In addition to its skill, those are tougher than adamantite now.”
“Now that’s tough.”
As we were having a chat, the Beastmuth turned to us before it moved. Due to its massive size, the earth trembled as it ran violently fast on the thick layer of snow. It was like an avalanche was coming before our eyes.
Once it got closer, the monster raised its right front limb and cast its huge and sharp claws into us. The claws were glowing, indicating the Beastmuth had activated a skill on them. The claws were coming at me first, so I quickly swung my sword and tried to block them.
Screech!
Ignition sparked upon the meeting of metals, coupled with a deafening noise. The momentum of its Claw Attack was so tremendously powerful that I was pushed back by a few feet.
As I kept our opponent occupied, Big Sis then jumped from the side and attacked it. Her blade was in its sheath and was ready to be drawn any second, and I could guess that she would use that particular technique.
“Fast Sword.”
Sister then instantly drew out her sword and slashed it at the monster’s left limb. Due to the activation of the Level 6 Fast Sword combined with her Purple Lighting, her blade flicked at a speed exceeding her personal record.
“Grrrraahh!!!”
The blue metal clashed with the purple, and the blue one won as the one under the purple armor cried in anguish. Her blade easily penetrated the scales and sliced them off like butter. It smoothly went through its flesh, but everything changed once the sword reached the middle.
“What?! My sword got stuck?!”
Once she realized what really happened, Sister quickly attempted to pull her sword out. Her sword was stuck so much that she even used her foot to push herself back.
However, as she did, the Beastmuth suddenly raised its arm, which made her let go of her sword and leap back. Seeing that, I immediately parried the claw before dashing forward to my Sister.
“Raphael, my sword!” She exclaimed. “How did it get stuck?”
“Hmm. I guess it can make its bones steel as well?”
“…That doesn’t seem fair.”
Aside from its outer defenses, the Extra Skill: Body of Steel could be used to fortify the bones as well, to the point of turning them to metal. The Beastmuth’s body was so big, as were its limbs. So if a bone that thick turned into solid steel as hard as mithrill, our swords would not be able to completely cleave it all the way.
“Pulling your sword from it seems difficult.”
“Yeah. I can’t fight properly without a weapon.”
“For the meantime, use this.” ov𝚕.co𝚖
I opened my Inventory and put my hand into it. I grabbed the thing that I wanted to withdraw before handing it to Big Sis. It was her former sword, Raven Blue.
“To think that I am going to use this sword again.” She said as she took the sword and fixed her eyes on it. “Let me wield you once more, Raven Blue.”
“Alright, Sis, we have a monster to defeat and an Excalibur to pull out.”
We turned to the Beastmuth, which was still anguishing in pain, as Big Sis slowly unsheathed her blade from the scabbard. While it was still suffering from agony, we took advantage of it and dashed forward with dazzling elements endowed upon our bodies and blades.
We ran around it in circles to confuse it as we were about to execute the plan. First off, we had to restrain its movements since it got speed despite its size. Therefore, we had to break more of its ankles.
“Alright.” I stopped behind it and then shifted my way toward its left rear foot. “Dragon Slayer.”
Upon reaching my destination, its foot, I quickly swung my scarlet blade horizontally as I cast a Level 8 technique. Since I activated the Godspeed unique skill as well, my sword moved dozens of times faster than what Big Sis did earlier, and it managed to separate the foot from its body.
“Grrrrraaa!!!”
The Beastmuth lost its balance as soon as I sliced off its foot. After that, my Sister changed her course and approached the monster. And then immediately, her sword instantly glowed a golden hue, which meant that she had decided to use her Ultra Skill, the Divine Sword Art.
“Flash Strike.”
In an instant, Sister slashed her sword at a speed that I could barely perceive and easily chopped off the right limbs of the Beastmuth. What she just used was a Level 2 Divine Sword Art technique: a slash with sublumic speed that could cut through virtually everything.
“Grrww!!!”
Having lost two of its feet, the monster finally collapsed on the snow. Realizing the situation it was in, it desperately resorted to firing us with Dragon Blast, but all were miserably off the mark.
Once amputated and rendered immobile, I slowly walked on the snow and approached the massive, purplish monster. When I stood in front of its nape, I raised my sword before pouring a large amount of mana into it.
Because I had forged a sword with divine-tier materials, I thought that I could do it right now. After my personal sessions with Czarina, I am now able to feel the power of the nuke in my hands.
The mana I had been pouring in turned into a purplish-black energy that coated my blade. Utilizing the Unique Skill: Mystic Artist, I was able to manipulate the nuclear energy and add it to my sword.
A little that the Beastmuth knew, my blade currently had a scorching temperature of millions of degrees. It was even way more than enough to melt its scales in under a second.
“Behold! The power of nukes! Nuclear Punisher!”
As soon as I recited the name of the technique I gave it, I cleaved down the sword and swung it to the neck of the Beastmuth, and then a little nuclear explosion occurred in the dungeon.
Woosh!
When I brought my sword down, the energy that was gathered into my blade easily obliterated everything on its way to nothingness. After the blade easily decapitated the tough monster, the wave generated by my slash flew forward and instantly melted the ice and burned the ground.
Once the mist subsided, a meter-wide, kilometer-long burnt earth was carved on the surface. Aside from that, the dead body of the Beastmuth was now silently lying before me. Only the cuts were burned, while the rest remained pristine.
“Hah… We did it, Raphael…” Sister cheered as she was supported by her sword after exhausting her strength.
“Thank you, Sis.” I approached and then assisted her. “You really did well too. You can now take your sword, Sis.”
Afterwards, Big Sis pulled out her sword like King Arthur before we claimed our loot and reward.
