BOOM!

A massive explosion struck the nearby mountain, sending a powerful shockwave through the forest. A large crack spread across the mountain’s surface as rocks broke loose from above and came crashing down, filling the area with dust.

Thankfully, everyone managed to dodge the attack. The blast had been aimed directly at Ragnir while he was falling from the sky, and if the attack had reached the other students instead, they would likely have been wiped out instantly.

Ragnir’s previously confident expression changed as he looked toward the beast. "Tsk... A Tier 3 beast wouldn’t go down from that, huh?"

The two students standing behind him looked visibly shaken. They could easily overpower a Tier 5 beast, but the difference between Tier 5 and Tier 3 was enormous, and neither of them possessed enough strength to face such a creature alone.

"Should I join them?" Akuma wondered.

Before he could move, the clouds surrounding Ragnir began to fade as his link slowly lost its focus. The magical energy in the sky dispersed, leaving the forest strangely quiet after the destructive exchange.

Suddenly, a woman with blonde hair leapt through the sky, her body cutting through the air as she extended both arms. A playful voice reached Ragnir from above.

"Ragnir, my childhood friend. You’re still as weak as ever."

The woman landed lightly before immediately bringing her hands together.

"Enhance: Acceleration."

The moment the final syllable left her mouth, she disappeared.

Akuma’s eyes widened. He couldn’t even see her movement.

In the next instant, she appeared directly in front of the Tier 3 beast and slammed her fist into its snout. The enormous creature was sent crashing backward, its body tearing through several trees before finally hitting the ground.

"Ragnir, stop lazing around and attack it while it’s still unable to move!"

"I know that."

Ragnir opened his hand and aimed it directly toward the stunned beast.

"Lightning Arrow."

A brilliant flash appeared in his palm before a concentrated bolt of lightning shot forward. It struck the beast in an instant, engulfing its entire body in light as smoke began rising from its fur.

Akira casually brushed a few strands of blonde hair away from her face.

"You might have delivered the last blow, but I made it possible. So I’m keeping the kill."

"Fine. Do whatever you want," Ragnir replied before turning his back.

Akuma stared at the two of them in disbelief. "What crazy lunatics... Just when I was about to step in, they already finished it."

He shook his head before continuing his own hunt.

Akuma walked for several more minutes before the sound of another battle reached him from deeper within the forest. Unlike the previous fight, however, this one sounded far more chaotic, with trees snapping and students shouting in panic.

Akuma immediately rushed toward the commotion.

The moment he arrived, he froze.

Standing in the middle of the forest was a humanoid monster covered in thick, dark fur. Its body was enormous, nearly as tall as a tree, with powerful arms hanging from its broad shoulders and legs covered in dense muscle.

Its hands ended in long, curved claws that looked capable of tearing through flesh with ease. A pair of enormous fangs protruded from its mouth, while its yellow eyes glowed through the dark fur covering its face.

But what frightened Akuma wasn’t simply its appearance.

The creature moved like a beast, yet there was something distinctly human about its posture and movements. It stood upright, watched its opponents carefully, and reacted to their attacks with an intelligence that no ordinary beast possessed.

Every step it took caused the ground beneath its feet to crack.

One of the students nearby struggled to catch his breath as he watched the monster cautiously.

"The instructors should be here soon. We can’t handle a Tier 3 Werewolf Enhancement Type."

Akuma’s eyes widened. "What?"

His gaze returned to the creature.

"A werewolf?"

His thoughts were interrupted by a voice coming from behind him. "Students, fall back. It will be difficult for you to fight against that monster," Raquan said as he stepped forward, visibly preparing himself for battle.

Then he added, "Although, those who scored a ten on the last evaluation may remain and help us subdue this monster."

"Help them? So even the instructor needs help when facing it?" Akuma muttered before remembering that he was one of the students who had scored a ten.

He took a deep breath and composed himself before clenching his fists. "Fuck this... I’m doing it!"

Akuma quickly stepped toward the battlefield, where Rize Drough and Kida were already standing against the Tier 3 beast. The monster remained in front of them, its massive body radiating enough pressure to make the surrounding students hesitate.

"Teacher, can I use the Way of the Body now that an unexpected entity has appeared?" Kida asked, glancing toward the monster.

Raquan took off his glove and tightened his fist. "You may."

Without another word, he launched himself into the air, heading straight toward the battlefield.

The werewolf began swinging its claws wildly, each strike tearing through the air with enough force to make the surrounding trees shake. Raquan dodged every attack with ease, moving around the beast’s massive body before charging forward and throwing a powerful left hook directly into the side of its face.

The impact violently twisted the werewolf’s head to the side, forcing its feet to slide across the ground. Instead of falling, however, the beast suddenly froze before letting out a deafening roar that echoed throughout the entire mountain.

"I knew it! This is a werewolf linked with Dark Magic!"

The werewolf’s body suddenly began to tremble. Its muscles swelled beneath its dark fur, becoming thicker and more defined as its bones began cracking one after another. Its shoulders expanded, its arms stretched longer, and its claws grew several inches, becoming curved blades capable of tearing through even thick stone.

Its legs grew heavier and stronger, forcing the ground beneath its feet to crack under the increasing weight. The dark fur covering its body thickened until it almost looked like armor, while its jaw stretched forward and its fangs lengthened into massive white points.

Within moments, the werewolf’s entire body had doubled in size.

The monster lowered its enormous head, its yellow eyes burning with a savage light as it searched for its next target. Then, without warning, its massive legs pushed against the ground and it suddenly moved toward Akuma below.

"Evade that attack!" Raquan shouted.
