Reincarnated as a damn planet
Chapter 77: Gajia Academy 9 - Types of magic
The instructor continued explaining.
"What you are seeing right now is only the surface of magic. There are multiple illustrations and applications of it, but according to the scholars of Majica, magic can be classified into five major categories."
"Summoner Magic. This type of magic controls objects through your link."
"Elemental Magic. This includes the manipulation of fire, earth, water, and air."
"Nature Magic. This allows you to manipulate nature itself."
"Dark Magic. These are the types of magic primarily used by demons, and there is little to no information about how they truly work."
"Healing and Enhancement Magic. As the name suggests, these types of magic focus on healing, strengthening, and enhancing the body or other targets."
"Any magic that cannot be classified into these categories is known as Personal or Special Magic."
The entire class fell into a deep silence as they listened attentively to their magical instructor. Willow waited for a moment before continuing with the most important part of the lesson.
"Your classification entirely depends on you, as the only true limitation of a magician is their Magical Capacity."
"Now, please come to the front and touch this Gajia Stone to register your type. I will give you exactly half an hour to decide. Choose carefully, because once your classification is registered, it cannot be changed later, and your decision will affect the rest of your life."
Akuma listened attentively, his eyes fixed on the Gajia Stone. He began thinking about what kind of magic would suit him, going over his past experiences and trying to find something that already felt familiar to him.
"What kind of magic..."
He thought for a while before suddenly realizing what he wanted.
"Okay, I got it now!"
After what felt like a long wait, the instructor finally returned to the front of the classroom.
"It has been exactly half an hour, and I expect that all of you have already locked in your answers."
Willow began calling the students one by one, registering each of their classifications into the academy.
"Rtir Leas, Summoner Type."
"Opad Nass, Elemental Type."
"Abnour Mal, Personal Type."
"Akira Prosei, Enhancement Type."
"Ragnir Rootil, Elemental Type."
"Kida Tundral, Enhancement Type."
"Akuma Dine, Elemental Type."
"Rize Drough, Elemental Type."
One by one, their classifications were registered into the academy’s records. With the final student registered, Willow placed the Gajia Stone back down and addressed the class.
"Now that you have chosen your classifications, please go to the library and begin studying on your own. We will hold another meeting in one week, and by that time, there will also be an event between the students."
She paused for a moment.
"Be ready."
The classroom immediately erupted into noise. Not only were the students expected to learn and develop their magic through self-study, but they would also have to battle one another in only a week.
Some students looked anxious, while others nervously discussed what type of magic they had chosen. Akuma, however, couldn’t contain his excitement. For the first time since entering the academy, he would finally get the chance to fight someone who was within his own range of ability.
--
"As I chose the Elemental Type, I should be able to find books regarding my magic type. Therefore, I should read everything about magic in depth."
Akuma said this as he arrived at the library, still contemplating which books he should choose. He wasn’t alone either, as several familiar faces from his class were also there, carefully picking out the books they planned to study.
Without hesitation, Akuma grabbed three books from the shelves.

Elemental Magic
For the next seven days, Akuma continued reading one book after another, eventually managing to finish four books in total. However, he knew that simply reading about magic would not be enough, so whenever he returned home, he practiced Regular Circulation while also attempting to imitate the techniques described in the books.
After considering his options, Akuma decided to focus on a combination of Earth and Fire Magic, a subtype known as Melt Magic. He remembered how the beasts he encountered in the mountains often had tough scales, which had always made fighting them difficult, so he reasoned that melting those scales would not only injure the beasts but also weaken their defenses.
More importantly, he could switch between Earth and Fire Magic whenever necessary, allowing him to adapt to different situations. With that thought in mind, Akuma spent the entire week practicing, determined to see how far he could develop his magic.
Finally, after a long week, the day arrived when the students would showcase what they had learned.
Two instructors stood at the front of the academy, Raquan and Willow. Willow stepped forward and addressed the students.
"Today is the day you showcase what you have learned. Your task is simple. We will leave the academy and head to a special location controlled by the academy. Once there, you will hunt as many monsters as you can."
She paused before continuing.
"You must only use magic. However, we are not foolish enough to completely limit your freedom. Beside me is your physical instructor, and he can sense whenever someone is leaning toward the Way of Body. If a student is determined to be relying on the Way of Body, we will apply a multiplier to every monster they hunt."
The students immediately began preparing themselves.
"Now, prepare your belongings and return here. We shall head out in unison."
The students soon walked outside the academy, dressed in their prestigious uniforms. As they passed through the streets of Etia, the gazes of the surrounding people followed them, filled with admiration and motivation.
"So classy. They’re students from Gajia Academy."
"This is rare. I heard they can only leave once a year after joining the academy unless they have a special occasion or some important matter outside. And there are so many of them at once, too."
Akuma remembered the first time his father had taken him to Etia. Back then, he had seen a group of Gajia students walking through the city, and the sight had left a deep impression on him.
That day, he swore that he would one day attend Gajia Academy himself and show his achievement to his parents. He wanted his father to see him wearing the prestigious uniform and know that his son had accomplished the dream he had once made.
But his father was killed by a giant beast before Akuma ever got the chance to show him.
