Redemption of a Born Demon
Chapter 610: Innate Golden Dew; A God’s Advent Severs 100 Generations
Chapter 610 -377: Innate Golden Dew; A God’s Advent Severs 100 Generations
The other three reacted instantly, joining the Demon Monarch in a sudden charge toward Innate.
However, they stopped dead in their tracks. Their faces twisted, a mixture of agony and disbelief.
The Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood, which they had spent years refining and had perfectly integrated with, was now rebelling, defying their will.
SQUELCH! SQUELCH!!
Their flesh contorted and warped uncontrollably. The Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood seemed desperate to burst from their bodies and throw itself into Innate’s embrace.
Within the instincts of the Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood, the four Root Sources sensed… an intense longing?
‘The Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood we went through hell to find and refine, the very foundation of our existence, is now desperate to fuse with another man?! What is this, some kind of shameless betrayal? It’s practically throwing itself at him!’
The expressions on their faces were utterly contorted, their complex emotions impossible to describe.
Of course, if they had sampled some of Japan’s “specialty” films after awakening in this era, they would have found the perfect term to describe what was happening.
Adultery right before the husband’s eyes…
“Don’t bother struggling. You walked the wrong path. The moment you stood before me, your fate was sealed.”
Innate slowly rose, hopped off the massive boulder, and walked toward the four of them, one step at a time.
He gave a slight wave of his hand.
WHOOSH!!
An even more turbulent torrent of Innate Golden Dew surged into their bodies from all directions.
Like a silent, permeating rain, this Immortal Power possessed the strongest qualities of “water.” With their level of control over Immortal Power, they stood no chance of blocking the Innate Golden Dew’s invasion.
And once the Golden Dew invaded, the Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood, sensing Innate’s power, would inevitably rebel within its host.
This was because Innate’s body held an immense attraction for the Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood, which had lost its original form.
He was the personification of nature, an Innate Deity.
These Root Sources seemed powerful, but in truth, they weren’t even qualified to face him in battle.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have slumbered for so many years, waiting for an opponent truly worthy of his awakening.
POP! POP! POP!!
The Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood within the four Root Sources burst through their mortal shells. Their bodies deformed so violently they were no longer recognizable as human, becoming nothing but disgusting masses of flesh.
“Why?! Innate!! We have a common enemy!!” the Demon Monarch roared, unwilling to accept his fate.
“The likes of you aren’t worthy of claiming to share an enemy with me.”
At this, the smile vanished from Innate’s face. A cold glint flashed in his eyes as he abruptly clenched his fist.
POP! POP! POP! POP!!
The four bodies exploded completely. A massive flood of Innate Golden Dew surged forth, completely suppressing the rebellious Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood.
With a wave of his hand, Innate dispersed the Innate Golden Dew that had spread for nearly ten thousand meters, and the world returned to clarity.
The surrounding trees stood untouched. Everything was as it was before.
The small animals near the boulder blinked in confusion, completely unharmed. They showed no signs of stress from the terrifying power the four Root Sources had exuded moments ago.
Only four new, enormous jade-like stones in the forest spoke of what had just transpired.
Four ancient beings, whose individual power placed them at the pinnacle of human history, had lost their lives without so much as disturbing a single blade of grass. They were utterly obliterated, body and soul.
A single god appearing to sunder the ages—it was no empty boast.
「Meanwhile.」
「Within the Human Dao River.」
“Since all the remaining targets have gathered in one place, it saves me a lot of trouble. I’ll go take care of this and settle the matter for good,” Yi Beidou said calmly.
‘Five Root Sources… that might actually be a bit of a challenge,’ he thought. ‘But that just makes it more interesting.’
Hong Datong opened his mouth, about to offer a few words of caution, but his expression suddenly changed drastically.
VMMMM!
Before he could speak, the Human Dao River behind him began to tremble violently. The waters churned and the waves surged, as if a tsunami was brewing.
The turbulence was unprecedented.
“This is…”
Yi Beidou looked toward the Human Dao River, a flicker of understanding in his eyes.
“Four Root Sources have fallen,” Hong Datong said. “Their Dao and Skill have disintegrated. The mists and dark clouds that shrouded the past have dissipated along with them, triggering this change in the Human Dao River’s currents.”
“It was the four Root Sources who went to Australia to meet with Innate. Something must have happened to make Innate attack them.”
“Moreover, the fact that the clouds over the past vanished at the same time indicates that the four of them died almost simultaneously. To accomplish that… it means Innate killed them with absolute, overwhelming power.”
Hong Datong’s expression grew more solemn than ever before.
‘I knew this Innate was significant, but I never imagined his power would be this terrifying.’
‘Could he have fused with a complete Immortal Corpse?’
“Innate…” Yi Beidou muttered to himself.
“Hm? This little creek from back in the day has become quite magnificent, hasn’t it?”
Just then, a voice suddenly echoed, causing both Yi Beidou’s and Hong Datong’s pupils to contract. They whipped their heads around to look upstream along the Human Dao River.
That direction represented the past, the path from which human civilization emerged. But because it was no longer the present, because all of the past was set in stone, it lacked the surging vitality and golden brilliance of the current river. Instead, it appeared dull, gray, and deathly still.
And yet, out of this gray, deathly stillness, walked a living man wreathed in golden light.
He was an anomaly.
“Innate! How are you able to be here?” Hong Datong said gravely, his eyes fixed on the tall man whose physique met the very pinnacle of human aesthetic perfection.
“Why couldn’t I? I never died, nor was I ever stuck in the past. I belong to the past, just as I belong to the present and the future.”
“You’re the junior who’s been prying into my affairs, aren’t you? Quite brazen about it, too. Did you really think I couldn’t sense you?”
Innate’s face was all smiles as he sized up Hong Datong from head to toe.
“A Divine Body? And you’ve managed to merge with this river… That’s something even I couldn’t do. It seems you’re plotting something earth-shattering.”
“But the inspiration I draw from this river tells me it must be a good thing,” Innate said, rubbing his chin.
“So, you are Innate?”
Yi Beidou stared at the sudden intruder as fierce Black Flame erupted from his body and swept toward Innate.
FWOOSH!!
At the same time, a torrent of Innate Golden Dew erupted from within Innate.
The two forces, black and gold, collided. They pressed violently against one another, constantly warping, yet neither could gain the upper hand.
‘My Black Flame consumes all things in this world. Even Immortal Power can only hold it to a stalemate as it’s worn away. But now, it can’t even burn this golden mist?’
Yi Beidou’s expression remained calm, but inside, his mind was in turmoil.
Innate, for his part, felt the same.
‘My Innate Golden Dew can suppress any Immortal Power, returning it to its natural state and converting it for my own use in a ceaseless cycle. But that quality is completely ineffective against this Black Flame.’
“You truly are the opponent I’ve awaited for ten thousand years.”
“Whatever grand plan you two have, I ask you to set it aside for now. Besides, no plan, no matter how grand, could possibly be grander than what I intend to do.”
“Yi Beidou, I will be waiting for you in Australia. Between the two of us, perhaps in the fiery clash of our life forces, we can glimpse the realm no human has ever truly reached.”
“Perhaps we will both be grievously wounded. Perhaps one will succeed while the other perishes. Or perhaps we will both shatter the shackles that have bound humanity for countless eons.”
“I have staked my life’s ambition, my ten thousand years of solitude and waiting, on this very era.”
“I await your arrival.”
Innate gazed at Yi Beidou, his expression utterly serious and solemn.
Without waiting for a reply, he turned, took a step, and vanished into the endless, dark Void.
Yi Beidou fell silent, watching the space where Innate had vanished.
Hong Datong opened his mouth, at a loss for words. He had never expected events to unfold like this.
‘He’d sensed it, too. This Innate had somehow lived for ten thousand years, yet he still possessed the body of a pure mortal. It was unbelievable. To think such a magnificent figure still existed in this world.’
“He is indeed a rare opponent.”
“Master, if I return, I will help you complete your plan. If he is the one who survives, I will have him help you with all his might.”
“If we both fall, then it is fate. You will simply have to wait for the one who comes after us.”
With that, Yi Beidou also turned and stepped into the Void.
