"What spiritual object?" Song Wen asked.

"Myriad Manifestations Spirit Liquid," Wang Qiuyue replied.

Song Wen raised an eyebrow, immediately intrigued.

Before coming to the Western Rong Continent, Song Wen had exchanged information with the Spirit Jade Palace. He revealed that Fan Kang was helping the Six Fiends Hall refine Corpse Puppets, which the Six Fiends Hall planned to use against the three great sects of the Southern Nether Continent. In return, he received breakthrough insights for the Great Ascension Stage and information on Spirit Herbs crucial for the breakthrough process.

The Great Ascension Stage breakthrough differed significantly from Song Wen’s previous breakthroughs. Unlike other stages, there was no specific medicinal pill for this breakthrough, only spiritual objects to aid the process.

The Myriad Manifestations Spirit Liquid was one such object.

While it possessed no extraordinary properties, it contained an extremely dense and pure concentration of heaven and earth spiritual qi. This allowed cultivators to rapidly replenish their spiritual qi or recover their spiritual power. The sheer abundance of spiritual qi within the liquid made it highly coveted even by Great Ascension Stage cultivators.

"Where can we find the Myriad Manifestations Spirit Liquid?" Song Wen asked.

"Poison Dragon Abyss. It lies approximately sixty million li southwest of here," Wang Qiuyue replied.

"How did you obtain this information, Fellow Daoist Wang? Is it reliable?" Song Wen pressed.

"It should be reliable," Wang Qiuyue said. "Yuanrong led us cultivators on visits to each of the five great demon clans under the Willow Serpent Clan’s command. During our conversation with Jiao Xuan, the patriarch of the Black Scale Flood Dragon Clan, he inadvertently revealed this information. According to Jiao Xuan, the Poison Dragon Abyss is infested with venomous pythons, several of which have already reached the seventh-tier, making them formidable opponents. I fear I would struggle to handle them alone, which is why I invited you to join me."

"The Myriad Manifestations Spirit Liquid is produced by these venomous pythons through their daily inhalation and exhalation of poisonous mist, refined from the heaven and earth spiritual qi. It’s their symbiotic spiritual object. To ensure a continuous supply of the liquid, the Black Scale Flood Dragon Clan hasn’t exterminated the pythons, only periodically harvesting it."

Song Wen’s brows furrowed deeply. "If that’s the case, do the other twenty-odd cultivators know about this?"

"Naturally. That’s why we must set out immediately, lest others beat us to it," Wang Qiuyue replied.

"But... could Yuanrong also be heading there?" Song Wen asked.

Wang Qiuyue immediately understood Song Wen’s concern. "It’s possible, but unlikely. For Great Ascension Stage cultivators, the Myriad Manifestations Spirit Liquid only restores spiritual power, offering little advantage over an eighth-rank pill. This continent abounds with heavenly materials and earthly treasures; the liquid is hardly exceptional. Yuanrong likely wouldn’t travel tens of millions of miles to the Poison Dragon Abyss solely for it."

Though Wang Qiuyue seemed to be reassuring Song Wen, she was also trying to convince herself.

If they encountered Yuanrong at the Poison Dragon Abyss, he would spare neither Song Wen nor her, as someone secretly colluding with Gou Jun.

Song Wen remained silent, lost in thought.

After a long pause, he finally said, "Then I’ll accompany you, fellow daoist."

Wang Qiuyue’s face lit up with a smile. "Let’s depart immediately."

The Poison Dragon Abyss, despite its name, was actually a vast lake.

The lake stretched two to three thousand miles across, but its depth remained unfathomable. Even Song Wen’s divine sense couldn’t penetrate to the bottom.

Perhaps due to its extreme depth and clarity, the water appeared a dark cyan, exuding an eerie chill and profound mystery.

Song Wen and Wang Qiuyue stood atop a towering mountain overlooking the lake, gazing at its unnervingly still surface, where not a single ripple disturbed the glassy expanse.

"How can the Poison Dragon Abyss be so eerily calm?" Wang Qiuyue murmured. "There aren’t even fish or shrimp in the water?"

"The water seems to contain a potent poison," Song Wen replied, his voice grave. "Not only would ordinary fish and shrimp be unable to survive, but even fourth- or fifth-tier demon beasts would likely perish. This place is shrouded in unknown dangers. We shouldn’t rush in blindly. Let’s gather more information and devise a proper strategy."

"But if there’s no living creature in sight, how can we gather any information about this place?" Wang Qiuyue countered.

Just as Song Wen was pondering their next move, a voice suddenly echoed in his sea of consciousness—the shadow void.

"Master, someone is approaching from directly ahead. It’s a cultivator in the Body Integration Stage."

Song Wen’s gaze sharpened, and he urgently whispered,

"Fellow Daoist Wang, someone’s approaching. I’ll take cover for now."

Wang Qiuyue heard the voice, a flicker of surprise crossing her eyes.

She wasn’t surprised that another cultivator was approaching; she had anticipated this possibility. Nor was she surprised that Song Wen wanted to "take cover." After all, if Yuanrong discovered his presence, it would be a disastrous outcome.

What truly astonished her was that Ji Yin, despite being only at the Early Body Integration Stage, possessed a sensory range that surpassed even her own as a Late Body Integration Stage cultivator.

However, she refrained from asking further questions, simply nodding in agreement.

"Very well. You take cover first. I’ll handle whoever’s coming."

"Thank you, Fellow Daoist."

With those words, Song Wen flipped over the mountain’s ridge and descended to its base on the opposite side, entering a narrow, natural cave.

At that moment, a figure entered his sensory range from the southeast.

It was Fan Kang!

Though Fan Kang hadn’t detected Song Wen, he noticed Wang Qiuyue on the mountain peak.

A dark glint flashed in his eyes.

Crossing over the lake, he approached Wang Qiuyue directly.

"I rushed here as quickly as possible, but it seems I’m still a step too late?"

"Elder Fan, you’re right on time. I just arrived myself and haven’t entered the lake yet," Wang Qiuyue said, her expression serene.

Though she and Fan Kang were fellow disciples, she showed no hint of familiarity, maintaining a subtle air of caution and detachment.

"Oh?" Fan Kang’s demeanor immediately softened. "With the treasure right before us, why hasn’t Elder Wang claimed it?"

"Elder Fan, why ask the obvious? I doubt you’ve missed the lake’s anomalies. Obtaining the Myriad Manifestations Spirit Liquid won’t be easy," Wang Qiuyue replied.

Fan Kang’s gaze shifted to the lake’s surface. After careful observation, he proposed, "Elder Wang, how about we enter the lake together? If we find anything, we’ll split it evenly."

Wang Qiuyue stared intently at Fan Kang, pondered for a moment, and agreed. "Very well. I’ll follow Elder Fan’s lead."

Fan Kang’s face lit up. "With Elder Wang’s assistance, those venomous pythons in the lake should pose no threat."

"Elder Fan flatters me. Let’s enter the lake quickly, before complications arise," Wang Qiuyue urged.

After a brief discussion, the pair dove into the lake’s depths.

After the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, the two reappeared, visibly flustered. They burst through the water’s surface in a hurry, then swiftly ascended into the air, distancing themselves from the lake.

A moment later, the water’s surface began to churn violently.

Suddenly, a massive snake head erupted from the depths.

It was a colossal python, its body striped in alternating red and white, stretching hundreds of zhang in length.

The python opened its jaws and spat out two streams of crimson corrosive poison liquid, which transformed into razor-sharp arrows, each aimed at Wang Qiuyue and Fan Kang.

Wang Qiuyue’s appearance had undergone a dramatic transformation.

Her head had morphed into a ferocious dragon’s head, her entire body was covered in layers of overlapping scales, a dragon’s tail had sprouted from her back, and her hands had become a pair of thick, razor-sharp claws.

With a sweeping punch, she unleashed a fist shadow that shattered the incoming poison arrow.

Fan Kang, meanwhile, used his flying sword to intercept and shatter the other poison arrow.

The pair narrowly evaded the venomous python’s attack, but the lake’s surface churned again, and several more colossal pythons emerged, relentlessly pursuing Wang Qiuyue and Fan Kang.
