Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine
Chapter 1732: Assignment
All three nodded. The four Heavenly Immortals were quite happy, as they received a commission—one thousand Immortal Crystals meant ten for them. Twelve people had to work for them for two years. If they didn’t make a thousand crystals, they’d have to continue for another two years, and the thousand crystals during these two years also counted as a task.
Everyone removed their Storage Rings, not worrying about theft, as there wasn’t much inside. What was valuable in the Lower Realm was not wanted here.
The Immortals of the Immortal World knew this too, so they casually placed their Storage Rings in a Storage Bag, essentially telling them that their belongings were not worth looking at. Even the lowest grade Storage Bag here was much higher in quality than theirs.
Each person received a Storage Bag and boarded the Flying Boat with them.
The Immortal Artifact indeed felt different. However, it wasn’t as if they hadn’t seen one before. This Immortal Artifact was a bit more advanced than those of the Xuantian Sect.
Soon, the Flying Boat stopped, and the twelve followed behind the Heavenly Immortals.
Watching them nod and bow, they truly felt that this place was too pragmatic.
Registration was needed here too. Su Yuanyuan heard their inner voices; they could each earn ten Immortal Crystals, peeling layers upon layers.
But there were benefits; they were assigned to rather rich mines. It was a matter for both parties.
After registering, each received tools. Su Yuanyuan curiously observed; this Immortal Artifact resembled the pointed pickaxe she had seen in the Mortal World. Who imitated whom?
None of the four Heavenly Immortals of the Ascension Pool entered the mines. They followed the person in charge here to choose mines themselves.
Tan Shaoting wanted to be with his wife but was refused. Each person had to be in a separate mine.
Su Yuanyuan wasn’t worried about the children; now that their space had upgraded and was soul-bound, it couldn’t be discovered unless someone with significantly higher cultivation deliberately observed.
Su Yuanyuan merely instructed the children to be cautious. She entered a mine chosen by the long-armed ape.
"What’s good here?"
"Master, I don’t know either; it’s just a feeling." That’s the way it is when you’re new—the details aren’t clear.
Even if something good were placed before them, they wouldn’t recognize it.
Su Yuanyuan found it nice to have someone to chat with, regardless of what it was. A thousand Immortal Crystals weren’t really much.
Their family’s expenses depended on this later on. There was no psychological burden at all; isn’t this just a normal thing?
Going deeper into the mine, it twisted and turned. Su Yuanyuan joked, it wasn’t as if they were mice; why make it so shapely?
"Where there’s Immortal Crystals is like where there’s Spirit Stones; places dense with Immortal Qi are where Immortal Crystals are found."
"Master, I think so too. Actually, our space now lacks an Immortal Crystal Mine."
"Quite an appetite. I’ve thought the same. Just see if you chose correctly."
"I believe so." Thank heavens, the master finally had time to talk to me.
After walking for quite a while, the path finally reached a dead end; it could begin to be excavated.
"Look at these marks; hasn’t anyone dug here for a long time?"
"Seems so; could it be that there are no Immortal Crystals here?"
"Very likely."
Despite saying this, Su Yuanyuan swung her pickaxe. The first strike didn’t show much effect.
"Based on years of treasure hunting experience, there’s bound to be something good behind."
"Master, the tool isn’t strong enough."
"Indeed; it’s no problem. I’ll try using immortal power."
After all, she was a Heavenly Immortal; she just couldn’t believe it.
Injecting immortal power into the pickaxe, again a strike, and a fist-sized rock broke off.
"This won’t work; I can’t do it."
While speaking, Su Yuanyuan’s Lifebound Sword appeared in her hand, striking directly. A considerable amount fell off with thunderous noise.
"That works."
Having not moved for a while, she used it as sword practice.
Outside, those monitoring them looked at the twelve newcomers. "Will they be troublemakers?"
"As long as they can dig up Immortal Crystals, who cares?"
"True. We saw, nine people in a family, still leaving a bloodline in the next life. It’s been years since anyone’s heard of children being born."
"Judging by their bone age, they’re teenagers with children; impressive. How come I didn’t think of that in the next life?"
"A family able to ascend together is remarkable, probably the top in the Lower Realm."
Su Yuanyuan didn’t know what was happening outside or how the children were doing; at the moment, a Swordsmanship was in her mind, instinctively following its moves.
Rocks in the mine fell in thunderous noise, and she kept advancing, the stones falling behind already blocking the mine entrance.
Finally, much later, the long-armed ape’s joyful cries awoke Su Yuanyuan.
"Master, hurry up; there’s indeed an Immortal Crystal Vein."
Su Yuanyuan hadn’t fully come out of cultivation, but her hand moved faster than her mind, and the Immortal Crystal Vein instantly disappeared into the mine.
Su Yuanyuan felt herself ready to advance, knowing Heavenly Immortal had three stages, likely very soon reaching the Middle Stage.
Her advancement was very loud; the overseers outside were already watching this side, seeing this female cultivator advancing—what a disturbance advancing caused.
"Such good aptitude; advancing in such a short time?"
"The Starry Realm hasn’t had Ascension Cultivators for years; those who ascend are surely excellent."
They hadn’t even noticed anything about the Immortal Crystal Vein.
Knowing there was an advancement here, they didn’t disturb her; it’s an unwritten rule in the Cultivation Interface that one shouldn’t disturb advancements; everyone has their advancement moments after all.
Su Yuanyuan advanced very quickly, the Mid-stage Heavenly Immortal already stabilized.
The biggest gain wasn’t just the successful advancement or the swordsmanship in the Sea of Consciousness, but the Immortal Crystal Vein.
"Let’s go, let’s check inside; where there’s an Immortal Crystal Vein, there must be good things."
The long-armed ape most admired the master’s luck; it’s enviable.
Su Yuanyuan smiled as she entered, finding it a bit dark inside.
With a wave of her hand, stones fell from both sides, along with dropping Immortal Crystals, just right to collect.
Progressing beautifully, not knowing how many Immortal Crystals were collected. Anyway, it was definitely enough.
Eventually, there was no more path ahead.
"See if there’s anything good here?"
"Master, I don’t know either." The long-armed ape felt ashamed, feeling he offered too little help to the master.
"Never mind, if we don’t know, we’ll keep going forward."
"Master, the path behind is blocked."
"It doesn’t matter. There’s still time; we’ll definitely get out."
The Heavenly Immortal Stage still had Cultivation Techniques, and this was in the Sea of Consciousness.
There was time to sit and cultivate. Whether the Cultivation Technique was good was unknown, but it flowed smoothly.
No idea how long they had meditated, awakening feeling relaxed all over.
Once again practicing swordsmanship, Su Yuanyuan felt deep down, this opportunity for personal growth—how was this a task—was too good for her.
