Chapter 52 Sister In Law

　　”We are going to start now!” He screamed down at the crowd of people before him. At once, the chattering died down and everyone turned to focus on Director Ma.

”Okay! Because we lost one hour today, we are on a tight schedule! I hope everyone has a map of the palace by now. The makeup and dressing rooms will be right outside here near the two small rooms to the left. The tents set up will be for the actors. The first scene will be right here. We are starting with scene 1. Everyone get ready.”

With that, Director Ma stepped down and everyone got into business. He Xinyan didn’t have a scene yet, but the fourth scene they were filming today was her solo scene of when she first entered the palace. He Xinyan went to get ready, and she immediately found the makeup tents. 

There were ten large tents set up; five for makeup and five for costumes. They were stationed in front of two smaller buildings near the large hall. 

He Xinyan entered the closest makeup tent and her mouth fell open in surprise. The tent was filled with people, and it was so crowded it was difficult to walk. She couldn’t even see who was at the other end of the tent. 

The seats were all filled so He Xinyan left for a different tent. She went down all five tents for makeup to find that none was available. 

In the end, He Xinyan decided to wait outside for everyone to finish first before she went in. Her scene was fourth anyway, so she had time. He Xinyan frowned unhappily as she sat down on a nearby stone. The famous celebrity Gu Yebei was going to film in the first and second scenes, and the best actress in all of Country Z right now, Yang Siyue, was going to act in the third scene. 

He Xinyan really respected Yang Siyue, because not only was she pretty, she was also extremely good at acting. A lot better than the flower vases with only looks and no skills in the entertainment industry nowadays. 

He Xinyan read through her lines again as she sat on the rock with Wu Minger next to her. Just as she was about to stand up to go check on the makeup room again, a person tapped her on the back. 

She turned around and saw a short and skinny man wearing a black hat, “He Xinyan, right?”

”Yes,” He Xinyan took a step back. 

”Please follow me.” 

”To where?” 

The man looked up and smiled, “I am an assistant. The actor I am taking care of told me to come and get you.”

He Xinyan took another look at the man and didn’t recognize him. She turned around to Wu Minger and whispered, “Wait for me here.”

The man led her over to one of the two small rooms next to the big hall, and he stopped in front of the door. 

He Xinyan also froze and pointed at the door, “Here?”

The man nodded his head. He Xinyan knit her eyebrows together. Who was inside this room? The director had specifically told them that the tents were the only places for actors to go, so who was inside this room? 

He Xinyan hesitantly opened the door and stepped in. The first thing she saw was a man that was standing, and he seemed to be doing the makeup for the person sitting down. 

She looked down and saw that the person sitting down was also a man, and he was dressed in a black robe right now with his eyes closed as the makeup artist did his makeup. 

She stepped in and walked closer. The man sitting down immediately opened his eyes and looked at He Xinyan through the mirror.

A small smile appeared on his face and he waved the makeup artist off before he whirled his chair around, “Hi!”

He Xinyan took a step back from surprise. Gu Yebei!

The handsome celebrity waved with a smile, and his sparkling eyes turned into a crescent moon-like shape. He Xinyan had to admit that Gu Yebei was truly extremely handsome, but compared to Gu Yechen. . . He was still a little behind. 

”Hello, Mr. Gu.” After all, Gu Yebei was still a senior in the entertainment industry, and He Xinyan had to respect him. 

Gu Yebei smiled and licked his lips before standing up from his chair, “So you are He Xinyan. . .”

”Yes, Mr. Gu.” 

Gu Yebei walked over to a rack hanging several costumes and grabbed a golden robe for the emperor. He Xinyan watched him look at the piece of clothing before putting it back onto the rack. The next second, he reached down for the string tying his robe and pulled it out.

At once, the black silk robe opened and He Xinyan caught a quick glimpse at the skin inside.

”Ah!” She turned around and covered her eyes with her hands. What was wrong with Gu Yebei? Was he a pervert?! 

Gu Yebei looked down at his bare upper body and chuckled. Although his body wasn’t as good as his brother’s, it was still considered very attractive, okay?! Why did she react like that?

It took a few minutes for a worker to help Gu Yebei put the costume on and he walked back to the seat after, “I’m done. You can look now.”

He Xinyan slowly turned around and bit her lips a little frustratingly, “Mr. Gu, I have to go get ready for my scene. If there is nothing else you need, I’m going to leave.”

He Xinyan turned around to leave and Gu Yebei quickly stood up from the chair to stop her. However, the golden robe accidentally got stuck under the leg of the chair and as he walked, he tripped over himself and fell down onto the ground with a thump. 

He Xinyan turned around and her mouth fell open when she saw Gu Yebei on the ground. For a second, she thought he had fainted because it was dead silent and he wasn’t moving. 

However, he suddenly stretched an arm out and looked up dramatically, “Wait! Don’t leave! Sister in law!”
