Chapter 207 The Board Meeting (4)
He Xinyan nodded her head and looked over at Bai Jiawei, “Dad, are you fine with that? If you are, then you can choose to not sign it.”She said all of this with a sweet smile, so Bai Jiawei had no reason to get mad at her.
Bai Jiawei slowly picked up the pen and glared at He Xinyan.
”Chairman Bai, I think you should sign it,” another chairman said, receiving a glare from Bai Jiawei.
Bai Jiawei tried to think of more ways to get himself out of this, but his slow and stupid brain couldn’t think of any. The pen slowly touched the paper and finally, he reluctantly signed the name and wrote the date down.
Once his pen left the paper, He Xinyan took the folder away from him and smiled.
”Thank you, dad!” She gave it to Qu Fei, who was going to take care of the transfer of the shares for her. However, since Bai Jiawei had signed the agreement, it basically meant that the shares already belonged to He Xinyan now.
Furthermore, there were so many witnesses, so he couldn’t deny it.
Bai Jiawei glared at her and grasped the pen tightly. If it weren’t for the fact that there were so many people inside the room, he probably would have hit He Xinyan already.
The only thing he could do now was to wait for everyone to leave, and then he would definitely punish He Xinyan for her actions today!
”Now, the meeting is -“
”Wait!” He Xinyan suddenly screamed again.
Bai Jiawei immediately knit his eyebrows together, and many of the directors also frowned slightly. Many of them had other things to get to, so they couldn’t waste too much time here.
He Xinyan realized this, “I am sorry for taking up everyone’s time. I promise that if you stay for the next few minutes, it will definitely be worth it.”
The shareholders looked amongst themselves, and finally, no one left.
He Xinyan let out a breath of relief and then quickly sent the message that was waiting on her phone for a long time.
She looked over at Bai Jiawei, whose face was red from anger now.
”He Xinyan, what are you doing now?! This is very immature and disrespectful of you!”
He Xinyan grinned, “Let me show you what is immature, disrespectful, selfish, and. . . against the law!”
She looked over at the person controlling the computer again and nodded her head.
Her mother’s will disappeared from the screen, and a video was replaced. It was very blurry and shaky, but one could tell that whoever was taking the video was peeking through a door.
’I know, I know. But it is just this once – Who read it? Did you send it to anyone yet?!’
Everyone in the room recognized Bai Jiawei’s voice, but no one, including Bai Jiawei, knew what the recording was about yet.
’I just gave it to CEO He this morning, but I don’t know if she got a chance to look at it yet. Okay, okay. Did you send the money for this month over to me yet?’
Bai Jiawei’s mouth fell open as he finally remembered where this video came from.
He looked from the screen to He Xinyan to the screen again.
’Chairman Bai. . . how much longer are you going to take money? What are you even using this money for? That is none of your business. But. . . But what if we get caught? I’m scared, chairman Bai! I have to raise my family, and my parents are also depending on me! If anyone realizes that I am helping you embezzle money I will be screwed -‘
At once, all of the shareholders inside the room gasped in shock and looked at each other. The only person inside the room that was still calm was He Xinyan.
’Shut up! You’re so loud! What do you mean?! I’m not embezzling money. . . It is my company! Whatever, just do what I say, or else I will fire you! Do you understand?! I want the money by tomorrow!’
There were a few moments of silence and the camera moved suddenly, shaking violently as the person filming ran away from the door.
’Manager Fu! Why is the door open?! I. . . I – Be careful next time!’
Then, the door opened and the camera clearly captured Bai Jiawei’s angry face as he marched out of the room. Then, the recording came to an end.
The meeting room was dead silent as everyone processed the information. It was clear what was happening from the video.
”No, no! That is fake! It isn’t what you think! I didn’t – I!” Bai Jiawei looked over at the person who was controlling the computer, and ran over to try and turn off the computer.
However, once he took the first step, He Xinyan swiftly stretched her leg out and Bai Jiawei tripped, landing onto the ground with a loud bang.
”Oh my! Oops! I’m so sorry!” He Xinyan put one hand over her mouth dramatically before standing up from her chair, not helping Bai Jiawei up from the ground.
”I believe that everyone knows what is going on from that video now. I admit that I took that video myself. A while back, I saw this.”
The screen switched and a picture of last month’s financial report was shown on the screen. All of the directors had seen this report before, so they all recognized it.
”I was sent all the reports from all the departments first, since I am the CEO. Therefore, the reports all of you saw didn’t have this obvious mistake.”
The image enlarged to the chart with the mistake, and He Xinyan briefly explained the math involved.
The directors were able to understand easily. If they had just seen that by itself, they might think it was a typo mistake by the financial department. However, after watching the video, they knew exactly what that meant.
”I was very confused. So, I asked my assistant, Wu Minger, to find someone from the financial department and ask them about it. Lin Xi, come in.”
The young guy called Lin Xi that helped He Xinyan when she first figured out the problem in the financial report slowly walked into the room, and gulped when he saw the room full of people.
”Hello, everyone.” He bowed several times, “I am Lin Xi, a worker in the financial department. I have been working in the He Corporation for a year now.”
Then, he showed all of the past months’ final financial report and the actual numbers from his own computer. After he finished explaining, all the directors were even more angry.
”Who are you?! Stop lying! You’re fired!” Bai JIawei screamed.
Lin Xi immediately jumped back in fear and looked towards He Xinyan to ask for help.
He Xinyan smiled at him, “You’re not fired, don’t worry. In fact, after this meeting, I will promote you. You can go back to work now. Thank you, Lin Xi.”
Lin Xi’s worried expression immediately disappeared and he smiled cheerfully, “Thank you, CEO He! Goodbye!”
”He Xinyan!” Bai Jiawei slammed one hand onto the table and glared at her.
”Dad, I’m pretty sure you know what I am talking about now, right?”
”What do you mean?! Stop trying to frame me for embezzling company money! Why would I do that? This is my company too!”
”Your company? Dad, you know perfectly well that this company will be going to me. You are just helping me temporarily lead it for now. Why would you do it? Because you are selfish and want to take my grandpa’s hard work and steal it to start your own company!”
Bai Jiawei couldn’t help but gasp in surprise. How did He Xinyan know all of this?! He was sure he never told anyone about his plan. How did she figure it out?!
”What. . . what are you talking about? I don’t know what you are talking about.”
He Xinyan scoffed, “It doesn’t matter what you are trying to do with the money. What matters right now is you broke the law.”
”I didn’t! Stop framing me!” Bai Jiawei jumped up from the table but Qu Fei pushed him back down.
”What are you doing?!” Bai Jiawei glared at Qu Fei, who didn’t seem to care.
”Manager Fu, come in!” He Xinyan said loudly and watched as Bai Jiawei’s face turn as pale as a paper.
The door opened and Fu Qi walked in. He glanced at Bai Jiawei and immediately looked down.
”Now, I will let the manager of the financial department, Mr. Fu Qi, tell everyone exactly what is happening.” He Xinyan glared at Fu Qi and crossed her arms together.
Fu Qi licked his lips and gulped several times uncomfortably.
”Manager Fu, hurry and tell them that He Xinyan is lying!” Bai Jiawei glared at Fu Qi and tried to send him eye signals, but Fu Qi refused to look up at him.
Finally, Fu Qi opened his mouth and said, “CEO He is telling the truth.”
