Chapter 2841: Chapter 2841: The Ancient Tree Still Wants To Return Home
"That’s very true." Yu Qi broke into a bright, melodious laugh.
With that, their car smoothly merged into the evening traffic, speeding off toward the horizon as night settled over the city.
They finally arrived back at their home at one o’clock in the morning. Since it was already so late, they decided to step into the space of Sere to rest for the night.
The moment Yu Qi materialised inside Sere, Xiaohua immediately bounced over and ran toward her with eager steps.
"Master, where is that man from earlier? I want to play another game of kickball with him!" Xiaohua asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Ah... He is not here anymore, sweetie. My Senior Brother has already taken him away to the cultivation world." Yu Qi replied with a gentle smile.
"Oh... What an absolute pity." Xiaohua said, her shoulders slumping with deep disappointment.
"You really know how to hold a grudge, don’t you?" Yu Qi chuckled playfully, booping Xiaohua’s tiny nose with her finger.
Xiaohua simply grinned back innocently.
"Ah... We should probably speak to the ancient tree about her relocation." Yu Qi suddenly remembered, turning her attention toward the lake.
"Mother is waiting for you to discuss that exact matter as well," Xiaohua stated, taking Yu Qi’s hand.
"Let’s go then." Yu Qi nodded.
Together, they strolled toward the majestic ancient tree. It stood proud near the edge of the sparkling lake, its massive, leafy branches spreading broad coverage over the surrounding landscape.
"Hello..." Yu Qi greeted the ancient tree softly.
In response, the lush green leaves rustled and swayed gently in the breeze, as if welcoming Yu Qi back.
"Hello, young one." A soft, melodious voice echoed through the air.
Yu Qi instinctively knew that this gentle voice belonged to the consciousness of the ancient tree.
"How are you feeling right now?" Yu Qi asked caringly.
"I feel wonderful. My spiritual power has replenished significantly, even though I have only resided here for a short period of time." The gentle voice replied with deep gratitude.
"It’s wonderful to hear that." Yu Qi smiled warmly. She then asked the core question that had been lingering in her mind. "Do you still wish to return to your original home?"
"Yes, I do." The gentle voice answered without a single hint of hesitation.
"I see." Yu Qi smiled understandingly. "Then I shall personally send you back after you recover at least eighty per cent of your full spiritual power. Given how rich the energy is here, I don’t think it will take very long."
"Thank you so much." The gentle voice replied softly.
There was a specific, crucial reason why Yu Qi did not send the ancient tree straight back to Miracle Space immediately, even though she could easily ask Long Hui to facilitate the transfer.
Miracle Space operated entirely differently from her own Sere.
Even though Miracle Space belonged to Long Hui, as he was the supreme creator who formed it, the living spiritual beings dwelling inside Miracle Space possessed their own independent, wild minds. They lived freely in a natural, competitive ecosystem without Long Hui micromanaging their daily interactions.
If she transferred the ancient tree into Miracle Space while its spiritual power was still severely depleted, the powerful, predatory entities residing inside would likely devour its essence to boost their own cultivation.
The tree would not survive for long under those harsh conditions.
That was precisely why Yu Qi instructed the ancient tree to stay within the safe haven of Sere and recover at least eighty per cent of its peak spiritual power first. Once it grew strong enough to protect itself, she would safely relocate it back to Miracle Space.
After concluding their conversation with the ancient tree, the couple retired to their bedroom to get some well-deserved rest.
...
The following morning, Yu Qi visited the hospital bright and early to officially file an application for emergency leave.
As for Long Hui, he submitted his official leave request directly through the military system, stating that he would be travelling to Fanghai Nation as Yu Qi’s personal bodyguard.
Given their high standing and unique circumstances, both of their leave applications were approved almost instantly without any hassle.
Just as Yu Qi was preparing to leave the hospital premises, she unexpectedly bumped into Tang Qin Hao in the hallway. It appeared that Tang Qin Hao had already caught wind of her sudden leave application.
"Where are you heading off to this time?" Tang Qin Hao asked, pausing in front of her.
"Fanghai Nation. Something urgent came up over there, so I need to go and investigate it personally." Yu Qi answered frankly.
Tang Qin Hao stood quietly, staring deeply at Yu Qi for a long moment.
Yu Qi tilted her head slightly, feeling thoroughly puzzled by his unusually solemn reaction.
"Brother Qin Hao, why are you looking at me like that?" Yu Qi asked curiously.
Tang Qin Hao didn’t answer her question directly.
Instead, his expression softened slightly as he offered a rare piece of quiet advice.
"Take good care of yourself... and be extra careful out there." Tang Qin Hao said softly.
Without waiting for a reply, he turned around and simply walked away down the corridor.
Yu Qi stood in place, staring at Tang Qin Hao’s receding back for quite some time. She could not help but suspect that Tang Qin Hao somehow knew she was stepping into a dangerous situation once again.
It seemed that Tang Qin Hao had indeed figured out the true identities of the mysterious experts who had rescued him back then, yet he had chosen to keep that secret entirely to himself. Perhaps he realised that there was no need to pry or ask unnecessary questions when actions spoke louder than words.
