Chapter 2625: Joining The Raid
Chapter 2625: Chapter 2625: Joining The Raid
"Hmm..." Yu Qi nodded.
She could not wait for the day when she would finally catch those people. She wanted to see their faces when everything collapsed around them.
The following morning, Long Hui informed Yu Qi that he would not be around for the next few days. He would be heading to the capital city to meet with his superior and discuss the case in detail. It was not just a simple matter anymore. It involved the safety of their nation as well.
Yu Qi understood the gravity of the situation. She assured Long Hui that she would not go anywhere in his absence. However, she set one condition. She wanted to participate in the operation later on.
Long Hui said that he would consider Yu Qi’s request.
And so, Yu Qi waited patiently for news from Long Hui.
....
The air surrounding the Sheng Logistics warehouse was thick, humid, and heavy with the scent of diesel and dust. The clock had already passed 3:00 a.m., the hour when most people had long since succumbed to sleep.
However, things were very different in this area. The hub was alive with frantic yet hushed activity.
Following Long Hui’s calculated bureaucratic freeze on their transport licenses, the upper management of Sheng Logistics had panicked, exactly as planned. They were now desperately attempting to clear out their most damning ’inventory’ before sunrise.
Yu Qi stood silently near the perimeter fence, blending seamlessly into the deep shadows cast by an overgrown willow tree. She was dressed in sleek, dark tactical gear, her long hair tightly braided and neatly tucked away.
Long Hui stood just behind her. His posture was rigid and commanding as he monitored the silent movements of the unit he had coordinated. They moved like ghosts through the darkness, precise and lethal.
"They are moving faster than expected." Yu Qi commented quietly.
Her gaze remained fixed on the main bay doors. She could see men frantically rolling industrial-grade, soundproofed steel crates onto an unmarked long-haul semi-truck. She could immediately tell those were not normal shipping containers. They were custom-built cages, carefully disguised as machinery transports.
Long Hui checked his watch. It was about time.
"The perimeter is sealed. We just need to wait for the signal from Alpha Team inside the electrical vault." Long Hui said.
Alpha Team, led by Ren Qian Yi, had already infiltrated the electrical vault.
Inside the bustling hub, the workers were drenched in sweat. Fear and pressure from their superiors drove them to work faster. Their boss had ordered them to move these crates as quickly as possible.
They knew what was inside the crates, but the money was too good to question. In their minds, as long as they received their payment, nothing else mattered.
Suddenly, the entire space plunged into absolute darkness. The humming ventilation systems fell silent. For a brief moment, confusion reigned in the oppressive stillness.
"Generator! Hey, go and get the emergency lights!" A man shouted.
It was clear that the man shouting was their leader.
"Go." Long Hui ordered.
His voice, amplified by his tactical headset, was the crack of the whip.
The standing soldiers moved when they heard the order. The night was shattered. The soldiers threw the flash-bang grenades inside the warehouse bays. The blinding light and concussive sound ripped through the dark. It rendered the workers disoriented.
Yu Qi and Long Hui entered through the small side entrance. The first guard they encountered barely had time to raise his flashlight before Long Hui’s fist connected with his jaw. The guard immediately collapsed to the ground.
"Civilian personnel, drop to the ground! Military operation!" Ren Qian Yi shouted, advancing forward with a wall of tactical light.
A guard near the semi-truck raised an assault rifle, aiming directly at a group of soldiers. However, he never had the chance to fire.
Yu Qi moved with blinding speed, closing the distance in an instant. She did not use a weapon. With a precise and lightning-fast palm strike to the guard’s chest, she disrupted his heart rhythm and knocked the air from his lungs. The guard crumpled to the ground, gasping. She swiftly disarmed him and pinned him down with a knee pressed firmly against his spine.
On the other side of the bay, Long Hui moved like a storm. Two guards rushed him simultaneously with batons. He caught the first strike, using the attacker’s momentum to slam him into the second guard. Before either of them could recover, he struck precise pressure points along their necks, rendering them unconscious.
A gunman attempted to take aim at Long Hui from a distance, but Ren Qian Yi reacted instantly. He rushed forward and pinned the attacker to the ground before he could pull the trigger.
Yu Qi approached the custom steel crates. One of them was still half-positioned on the loading ramp. She noticed a small ventilation grate near the top. Pushing aside a frantic worker who tried to block her, she tore the grate off with her bare hands.
The worker froze in shock. He had never expected that such a delicate-looking woman possessed that level of strength. The thought of her turning that strength against him made his blood run cold, and he immediately backed away, not daring to interfere again.
Yu Qi focused her hearing on the crate. From within the suffocating darkness came weak, terrified sobs, followed by hushed whispers filled with fear. The report had been accurate. This was indeed a transit point.
A surge of fury rose within her. She could feel the terror radiating from the people trapped inside. They were frightened, dehydrated, and treated like livestock. ’Those bastards!’
"They are here." Yu Qi shouted.
