Reborn: Rise of the Greatest Summoner

Chapter 79 Training [2]

“The meditation session is very important for your training”.

“Unlike normal humans, superhumans gain even more from meditation”.

“It helps hone concentration, our control over contracted beasts, and it even improves discipline to prioritize and stop certain things like now”.

“When you start meditating to a high enough level, you won’t be carried away by your training again. You’ll know when to train and when to stop”.

“Remember, rest is also an essential part of training”.

“Most importantly, meditation helps in honing and increasing our Summoner energy, it is the most efficient way to recover and draw in mana”.

“Without learning how to utilize your Summoner energy smartly, you can never become a great Summoner”.

“Now, imitate my actions”. Legolas took the lead for Christensen.

“Yes Master”.

Legolas sat down cross-legged before focusing and closing his eyes. Christensen imitated him and they just stayed like that for the next 1 minute.

After a minute, Legolas started speaking again. “Meditation simply entails forgetting all about the world, forgetting everything and focusing on yourself”.

“When you concentrate on yourself, you’ll see things beyond the natural”.

“Do you see anything?”

“No…, not yet…” Christensen tried to focus more then he gasped in shock. “Yes master, I see something, a white energy covering my abdomen”.

“That is your summoner energy”.

“Through meditation, focus on your energy and try to harness it. Once you do, push it and make it to start revolving in a clockwise direction”.

“This is how superhumans meditate”.

“Yes Master”. Christensen focused and tried doing as he was instructed.

Despite being a player who mostly had automatic access to all features and powers of the game through his interface, Legolas knew all of these because he was part of the producers who developed the ground work of the game.

Dominator’s super powers were all fantasy, but the producers all worked together and drew inspiration from the ancient Chinese myth of qi.

Mana that segregated into the different forms of superhuman energies was a fantasy replication of qi, it was just more powerful and potent.

For the first hour after he started, Christensen improved but he was still unable to push his blue Summoner energy to move in a clockwise direction. It took a few more minutes before he finally got the hang of it.

Once he started, he no longer stopped.

During this training session, Legolas learned something incredible.

Like he suspected before now, he was a hybrid, his virtual interface was not the only way for him to grow stronger, he could also grow stronger like all other superhumans here.

Once he confirmed, Legolas also meditated and easily got the hang of it as he started rotating his green Summoner energy in a clockwise direction.

Both master and student stopped once the 2-hour time limit elapsed. This time, after the meditation, Christensen’s brain felt active and free like never before but he also felt an urge to sleep and rest.

The next few hours were rest time, so he fully took advantage of it.𝑜𝑽𝓵xt.𝔠𝒐𝐌

Legolas and Christensen rested on the forest ground as the massive Chefron and Leo spread mischief through the island that was free for them.

2 hours later, the both of them woke up energized.

“Take, this is the Basic Beast Energy Augmentation knowledge that I got from you some time ago, use the 4 hours to start learning it”.

To Christensen, he finally got to the hardest part of his training.

With tears in his eyes, he grabbed the book detailing the class knowledge as he located a nearby boulder and sat on it before going through the book.

For some reason though, as he read, the book no longer seemed as strange or weird to him. “Huh…, did I become more intelligent?”

Then his eyes widened in realization. “Is it because of meditating?”

“Damn, I must definitely ask master later”.

With the belief that he got more intelligent from the blue, he became motivated and put even more effort to understanding the contents of the book.

He didn’t understand it far but at least he tried far better than he usually did. After 4 hours, Legolas finally told him to rest and sent Leo to hunt for more food.

A few minutes later, the Frost Wolf returned with a small boar.

Legolas did the roasting this time. As he roasted the meat, he explained. “Your night combat training will last 2 hours”.

“This time, it is the real deal”.

“Go out there with Leo and fight real beasts”.

“It doesn’t matter what you do, just make sure that you improve”.

“Yes master”.

After eating, Christensen spent some time to let the food digest. By now, it was already into the dead of the night. He took a deep breath after making his preparations, then he bid his master farewell before mounting Leo.

Together, beast and master tread deeper into the forest in the island.

After 20 minutes of searching, Christensen found his target.

The massive Jaguar was loud as it slept and took a nap after a long day of hunting and killing. After marking his target from afar, Christensen took a deep breath. ‘I noticed that my marksmanship improved after becoming an agent’.

He brought out the makeshift arrow that Legolas constructed for him, then he took a deep breath and aimed. “Leo, when I shoot him, you freeze him”.

“We won’t take risks, we’ll whittle him to death”.

Christensen narrowed his eyes then he released the arrow.

Whoosh!

Instantly after the arrow moved and the wind blew, the sleeping Jaguar’s ears stood like an antenna as its right paw swatted with rapid speed.

This incredible Jaguar was fast enough to swat the arrow away. Its hands bled after the arrow barely injured it but it was not fatal, now it was angry.

“Leo, now!”

The Frost Wolf released its ice but the Jaguar was already aware.

This powerful big cat jumped high, dodging the ice attack as its fur stood like needles before shooting outwards the next moment after the Jaguar roared.

Whoosh!

Christensen barely dodged the fur needles that were like bullets.

Leo howled loudly before emerging from its hiding as it pounced at the Jaguar but this battle veteran was not having it. Having fought other summoners before, he already knew that Leo was a contracted beast.

“Roar!” The Jaguar roared and charged towards Christensen’s location.

“Oh f*ck…, f*ck I’m gonna die!”

Christensen’s first instinct was to abandon his weapons and run for it but his rationality took over in a rare moment of clarity. ‘If I turn my back to this Jaguar, I’m 100% done’

‘But if I give it a try and try my best against it head-on, if Leo is smart enough to attack from the back, I may have a chance of surviving’

“Leo, attack!”

Christensen roared as he threw the bow to one side before unsheathing the sword that was attached to his waist.

At this moment, his eyes were blood-red in fury and determination. “I can’t die!”

The Jaguar was fast, freakishly fast as it arrived before him the next moment, clearly it had an ability to rapidly increase its burst speed.

Christensen widened his eyes as he blocked his face with his left hand before motioning to stab the Jaguar’s abdomen with his right.

“I will not die, ahh…!”

Boom!

The Jaguar finally collapsed on him as blood flowed.

Christensen was compressed by the Jaguar’s weight but it was not his blood that flowed, it was from the huge injury on the Jaguar’s abdomen.

“Ahh…, die!”

Christensen was emboldened after his initial success as he stabbed deeper.

“Roar!”

The Jaguar thrashed painfully on top him, giving him injuries in the process as it struggled to climb up so that it could bite him properly.

Before the Jaguar could stand though, a white silhouette pounced on its back as Leo’s deadly teeth ruthlessly sank into the Jaguar’s neck.

The Jaguar struggled fiercely but by adding his frost powers, Leo incapacitated the Jaguar with his long and powerful teeth for minutes until all life was sapped away out of the big cat.

The Jaguar died but 2 massive beasts were on top Christensen for minutes.

As soon as Leo killed the Jaguar, he pushed it away, exposing his master who was underneath who at this moment was not that distinguishable from the sand that was on the forest floor.

Leo nudged him with his nose.

Christensen coughed blood. “I won…”

“Hahaha, I f*cking won!”
