Seeing the two of them just standing there, stunned, Jasmine pursed her lips in a smile and pushed the documents directly into her sister’s hands. "Cecilia never planned on letting you two go back to Veridia. That’s why she found this house and bought it so quickly."

"She’s been saying for a while now that she wanted to bring you both here, but you insisted on staying with that shop. Now there’s nothing holding you back, so you can settle down properly here in Lorcain. Cecilia will take care of everything for you."

"N-No, Sis, we can’t... How could we possibly accept this house?" Yvonne was terrified. ’A house this big... how much must it have cost? Even if Cecilia is rich, I’m her aunt! I can’t just accept a huge house like this from her.’

"Why not?" Jasmine pressed down on her sister’s hand, her expression serious. "From the day Cecilia was born until now, you’ve given her just as much as I have as her mother. She’s close to you, and she remembers how good you and Brendan have always been to her. You deserve this."

"She’s grown up now and making her own money. I don’t have a problem with however much she wants to spend on you. And don’t feel like you can’t accept it. The house wasn’t cheap, but Cecilia can afford it."

"Just live here and don’t worry about a thing. She bought the house in full, so you won’t have to pay a single cent for a mortgage. The property management fees for the next five years have also been paid. It’s spacious enough for Sarah and Ronald when they come back, too."

"Oh, and there’s one more thing." As she spoke, Jasmine pulled out a car key and handed it to Brendan. "Brendan, Cecilia bought you a car. It’s parked in your spot downstairs."

Brendan looked down. It was for a Range Rover!

"This... Sis..."

"Take it!" Jasmine’s tone was firm as she shoved it directly into Brendan’s hand. Then, she looked at them both and smiled. "A house and a car. Now you have it all. Go on, take a good look at your new home."

Yvonne could no longer contain her emotions. She covered her mouth, walked to the side, and began to cry, her shoulders shaking with soft sobs.

She knew Cecilia was a good niece, but she’d never imagined—never even dared to dream—that Cecilia would do something like this for her. A mansion, a luxury car... She had spent her entire life making roasted meats. How could she ever have expected a day like this?

Seeing this, Jasmine stepped forward and gently hugged her sister, whispering the same words Yvonne had said just last night: "Things are only going to get better for us."

Yvonne nodded emphatically.

「Lorcain U, Esports Club.」

Ethan knocked on the door to the club president’s office. When he pushed it open and stepped inside, he stopped short.

"Ethan, you’re here." Riley greeted him with a smile, apparently not noticing the look on his face.

Inside the room, Owen Griffin slowly rose from his chair. The smug, provocative smile on his face showed he was very pleased with Ethan’s reaction. "Hello, Ethan. We meet again."

Ethan’s brow furrowed in annoyance, but then he remembered the incident where Owen had pooped his pants. Seeing that memory superimposed on Owen’s currently punchable face, he almost burst out laughing.

Their eyes met, and Owen’s expression hardened. "Something funny?"

"You standing here is a joke in itself," Ethan said with a sneer.

Sensing the animosity between them, Riley quickly interjected, "Owen, why don’t you head out for now? I have something to discuss with Ethan."

"Okay." Owen pursed his lips, his initial smug expression returning as he stared at Ethan on his way out.

Ethan, standing by the door, turned slightly to the side, fighting back a laugh as he looked away. His reaction completely baffled Owen, who couldn’t help but glance back suspiciously after stepping out, only to see the door quickly shut in his face.

"You two know each other?" Riley asked, unable to resist, once the door was closed.

Ethan nodded. "What was he doing here?"

"He’s joining the Esports Club. He just filled out the form and donated five brand-new VR headsets to us."

Ethan opened his mouth, then swallowed whatever he was about to say.

"What did you want to see me about, Riley?"

A smile spread across Riley’s face as she motioned for Ethan to sit. "It’s thanks to you that Lorcain U made it to the finals this time. I applied to the university for a cash prize for you."

With that, Riley pulled an envelope from her drawer. "It’s not a huge amount, but it’s something."

"Is it just for me?"

Riley nodded. "You got MVP in several matches in a row. You’ve earned it, so don’t feel bad about taking it."

Ethan shook his head. "Never mind, Riley. Just donate the prize money to the club."

’The atmosphere on the varsity team is already pretty tense,’ Ethan thought. ’If people find out I’m the only one who got prize money from the club, it’s just going to stir up more drama.’

’The finals are coming up, and I don’t want to mess with anyone’s mindset.’

"The club doesn’t need the money," Riley said.

"Neither do I," Ethan replied.

Riley was speechless.

But seeing how firm he was, it was clear he really didn’t want the money, so she agreed. "Alright then. We’ll donate it to the club in your name."

"So, how’s putting together the varsity team going?"

At the mention of the varsity team, Ethan looked troubled. He shook his head in frustration. "It’s been a real struggle. I can’t find any suitable candidates. Do students at Lorcain U just not play games?"

Riley laughed at his question. "Pretty much everyone who plays games is already in the club. And most of them... well, their skills are limited."

Ethan’s heart sank.

But then Riley added, "However, I do have one person I can recommend. Are you interested in having a girl on the team?"

"A girl?"

"That’s right. A girl. And she plays the Shooter position."

"Is she in the club?"

"No, she’s not in the Esports Club. But her skills are insane. She has several Shooter accounts on the national server leaderboards, with a peak rank in the top fifty."

Ethan was a little taken aback.

’My own peak rank is also in the top fifty.’

"But she’s not really interested in competitions. For her, the game is just for fun. Otherwise, I would’ve pulled her into the Esports Club ages ago. If you’re interested, you could try talking to her."

"Of course. What’s her name?"

「West Gate of Lorcain U, Fishnet Internet Cafe.」

"Enemy abilities are on cooldown. Your Q landed, so you can engage."

"Go in! Focus the shooter! Use Ignite!"

"We can dive the tower on this wave. I have Flash and my ult."

In a corner booth, a girl wearing exquisite, full-face makeup was focused on her mouse and keyboard. The crazy part was, she had long, manicured nails that CLACKED against the keyboard.

Ethan and Jameson came up quietly behind her.

After watching for a moment, Jameson took a couple of sharp breaths in amazement and silently gave Ethan a thumbs-up.

’A pro with multiple accounts on the national server, no doubt,’ he thought. ’Even with those long nails that should be getting in the way, her execution is flawless.’

Half an hour later, the game ended. The results screen showed it was a Peak Grandmaster match—a seriously high-level game.

"Helen White?"

Hearing her name, the girl turned around instinctively. "You’re... Ethan Sterling?"

Ethan was surprised she knew his name. "That’s me. You know who I am?"

Helen smiled and took off her headset. "Of course. I saw your highlight reel from the Autumn Tournament on a short-form video app."

Jameson excitedly shook Ethan’s arm. "This is great! It’ll be much easier since she already knows who you are."
