Chapter 641 - 637: Finally Getting Lively

"Lily!"

Yvonne Sterling took the flowers and pulled Lily into a hug. "Your auntie missed you to death."

Lily Sterling’s eyes reddened with emotion. Jasmine Sterling walked up, a mix of anger and heartache in her eyes, and lightly punched her sister’s arm. Before she could even speak, tears started streaming down her face.

"What are you crying for, Sis!" Yvonne Sterling exclaimed, startled. She quickly tried to comfort her. "Hey, don’t cry. Aren’t you happy to see me?"

Jasmine Sterling covered her mouth, crying as she complained, "How could you not say a word about something so huge? Are you trying to worry me to death?"

"What huge thing? It’s not a big deal at all!" Yvonne Sterling said hurriedly. "This illness of mine is nothing. If I wasn’t already planning to come to Lorcain to see you, I would’ve just gotten it treated at any old hospital in Veridia. Ask Emeric if you don’t believe me."

Emeric Grant was holding Cecilia Sterling’s hand, already prepared to meet the family.

And just like that, he was meeting Cecilia’s entire family all at once.

Jasmine Sterling looked at the handsome young man. Before she could speak, Emeric Grant politely introduced himself. "Hello, Ma’am. I’m Cecilia’s boyfriend, Emeric Grant. We meet again."

Again?

Jasmine Sterling thought he did look familiar. Cecilia Sterling quickly reminded her, "Mom, he’s the doctor from the OB/GYN department at the Second Military Hospital."

"Oh!" Jasmine Sterling realized, remembering instantly. It was just that Emeric Grant had only been in charge of Zelda Warner’s care for a few days before another doctor took over, which was why she hadn’t recognized him right away.

"Let’s go home first. We’ll talk more at home. I’ve prepared a lot of food, so we won’t eat out today." Jasmine Sterling ushered everyone along, then extended a separate invitation to Emeric Grant. "Emeric, you should come too. Thank you for making a special trip. I’ll make you something delicious."

Emeric Grant glanced at Cecilia Sterling. Only after seeing her smile without saying anything did he nod and accept.

"Mom, wait a little longer. There’s still someone else," Cecilia Sterling reminded her.

Jasmine Sterling froze for a moment, but Lily Sterling and Ethan Sterling at her side grew excited. Ethan asked eagerly, "Someone else? Did Sarah and Ronald come?"

Soon, Randall Jennings finally walked out. He had taken a call right after getting off the plane and had been on it until now.

"Mr. Jennings!"

"Mr. Jennings?" Jasmine Sterling said with a start, not at all expecting that the person Cecilia was talking about was Randall Jennings.

"You’re all still here? I thought you would have left already." Randall Jennings said with a chuckle, walking over like an old friend.

Cecilia Sterling took the opportunity to say, "Mr. Jennings, thank you for your help. There’s no time like the present. If you’re free, why don’t you join us for dinner at our home?"

"Today?" Randall Jennings hesitated, looking at the large family. He politely declined, "Some other time, perhaps. It’s a rare family reunion for you all today. You should celebrate among yourselves."

"I never took you for such a formal person, Mr. Jennings," Jasmine Sterling said, her voice tinged with a smile. "Don’t be like that with us. We don’t consider you a stranger. My sister and brother-in-law are visiting Lorcain for the first time today, and I’ve prepared a huge feast."

For Randall Jennings, that last part was a tempting offer.

An irrepressible smile spread across his face. "In that case, I won’t stand on ceremony."

"Please don’t, Mr. Jennings!"

He turned and gave his assistant a few instructions. The assistant listened, a troubled look on his face. "But tonight’s..."

"Postpone it. Reschedule it for another time."

The assistant could only nod. Then, Randall Jennings turned back with a chuckle and said, "There are a lot of us. Why don’t a few of you ride in my car?"

And so, the whole group descended upon Cecilia Sterling’s house.

Yoda had never seen so many guests at home and zipped around the house in excitement.

"Whoa, Sis, this is incredible!" Yvonne Sterling couldn’t help but exclaim as she entered the villa. "When we video chat, I only ever see the background. I never imagined the villa was this huge!"

Brendan Harris was also stunned. He had never seen a villa this luxurious, not even on TV.

"Cecilia bought it. There are plenty of rooms upstairs. You and Brendan can stay here for now, and we’ll figure out the treatment plan slowly."

"Ma’am, you can leave your sister’s treatment to me. I can make things a lot easier," Emeric Grant chimed in.

"Emeric, your hospital can treat her, right?" Jasmine Sterling asked, the thought just occurring to her.

Emeric Grant nodded. "Of course. Any proper top-tier hospital has an oncology department, but we have a better option. I’ve already mentioned it to Cecilia."

"A better option?" Jasmine Sterling asked, confused, and looked at her daughter.

Cecilia Sterling heard her and explained, "Emeric’s father is the vice president of a high-end private hospital. The all-around service there is much better than a public hospital, including the food. I want to arrange for my aunt to be treated and hospitalized there."

"Private hospitals are expensive, aren’t they?" Yvonne Sterling immediately rejected the idea. "There’s no need for that. The doctors already said my condition isn’t serious. A regular hospital can treat it just fine."

"Listen to Cecilia!" Jasmine Sterling said, holding her sister back. "Don’t you worry about the money."

Before Yvonne Sterling could argue further, Jasmine Sterling pulled her straight to the kitchen. "You may have just arrived, but I’m not treating you like a guest. There are a lot of people today, so you have to help me get things ready."

Yvonne Sterling laughed. "You don’t even have to ask! I brought some seasonal seafood from Veridia—all top-quality stuff. Since it’s still fresh and there are so many of us, let’s just cook it all."

The two sisters went into the kitchen, while Cecilia Sterling sat down in the living room to chat with Randall Jennings.

Ethan Sterling and Lily Sterling showed their uncle around the villa, helping him pick a room and unpack.

Emeric Grant immediately went out to the courtyard to make a phone call, arranging further examinations and hospitalization for Cecilia’s aunt.

The vast villa had always felt unsettlingly empty, but today, it was finally full of life.

"Come on, let’s all raise a glass!"

During the meal, the outspoken Yvonne Sterling stood up to propose a toast. "For this meal today, I really have to thank Mr. Jennings, thank Emeric Grant, and my niece, Cecilia. Thank you to my sister, and of course, my husband. I won’t say much more, but I’ll toast you all with this tea in place of wine!"

With that, she downed the tea in her cup in one go.

Seeing this, the others all smiled and raised their glasses.

"Emeric, don’t be shy. Have whatever you like. Eat up," Jasmine Sterling said, looking at Emeric Grant.

"I will, Ma’am. Thank you." Emeric Grant sat up straight, his every word and action showing great refinement. Jasmine Sterling watched him, pleased.

"Cecilia," Randall Jennings said, turning to her. "You’ve heard about the situation in Sunstone District, haven’t you?"

"Of course." Cecilia Sterling put down her chopsticks, her face full of interest. She looked at Mr. Jennings and asked, "Are you making any moves in Sunstone District, Mr. Jennings? Is there anything I can get in on? I’d love to learn a thing or two from you!"

"I have some plots of land. Are you interested?"

"Land?" Cecilia Sterling’s eyes instantly lit up. "Mr. Jennings, you’re looking to sell land in Sunstone District at a time like this? Why not hold on to it yourself?"

Randall Jennings said, "It’s not that I’m looking to sell. It’s just that sitting here with you today, it suddenly occurred to me. In my hands, this land won’t make much money. But in your hands, it could make a lot more."
