Her words sent the entire place into an uproar.

Everyone’s eyes went wide in shock. They couldn’t believe Cecilia Sterling would dare to speak to Elias Warner like that.

He was the vice president of the student council, after all!

What good could possibly come from offending him?

Everyone exchanged glances, no one daring to comment further, but their eyes said it all.

Was Elias Warner angry?

Of course.

He was about to explode, but he didn’t dare say a word.

He was afraid Cecilia Sterling would make him pay for the damage right then and there.

He couldn’t afford it!

But he couldn’t admit he couldn’t afford it.

He’d already said he would pay before all this.

He was caught in a trap of his own making.

"Sheila, let’s go."

Cecilia Sterling said, grabbing her things and motioning to Sheila Hughes.

Sheila Hughes, still reeling from the shock, just nodded instinctively at her words.

As she passed Elias Warner, Cecilia Sterling paused, stared straight ahead, and reminded him in a low voice, "Seventy-nine thousand. Get it together and transfer it to me."

Elias Warner clenched his fists but ultimately just swallowed his anger.

The drama only truly ended after Cecilia Sterling’s elegant figure left the cafeteria. The onlooking students, sensing the show was over, quickly dispersed.

Cecilia Sterling wasn’t afraid of Elias Warner, but they couldn’t afford to offend him.

Even Lee Warner and Yates Sanders didn’t dare go over to console him. Lying low was the best option right now.

Mainly, they were afraid Elias Warner would ask to borrow money from them. They didn’t have any!

"Cecilia, don’t you think you might have provoked him a little too much just now?"

Outside the cafeteria, Sheila Hughes spoke with some concern. "He didn’t say anything back to you, but I could tell he was furious. He’s the vice president of the student council. If he decides to get back at you for this later, you could be in for some trouble."

Student council officers in university hold a surprising amount of real power. As the vice president, if he wanted to make things difficult for Cecilia Sterling, he had plenty of ways to do it.

And Elias Warner was exactly the petty type.

"Trouble?" Cecilia Sterling scoffed, utterly unconcerned. "He needs to solve his own immediate problems before he’s even qualified to cause trouble for me."

"Besides, I embarrassed him on purpose. With his twisted personality, he’s used to making things difficult for others and watching them suffer. Today, he gets a taste of his own medicine."

Hearing Cecilia say this only deepened Sheila Hughes’s admiration for her.

"Cecilia, you’re not just smart, you’re brave too." Sheila Hughes smiled a little shyly. "To be honest, at first, I only noticed how beautiful you are. I never imagined you’d have such a charismatic and bold personality."

She sounded exceptionally sincere, and Cecilia, finding it quite pleasant to hear, couldn’t help but curve her lips into a smile. "That’s perfectly normal. For a beauty like me, looks always come first. People tend to notice my appearance first. I get it."

She was beautiful and she knew it, so she had long since grown accustomed to her ’beauty coming first’.

The more she acted this way, the more it revealed her confident and carefree side.

These were all qualities Sheila Hughes lacked, which made her admire Cecilia even more.

But a glance at the glaring stain on Cecilia’s clothes instantly sobered her up. She quickly apologized, "I’m so sorry about today. If it wasn’t for you helping me improve, you wouldn’t have gotten into this mess."

She hesitated for a moment before adding, "Why don’t you go change and give it to me? I can try to find a way to wash it. I know a lot of stain removal methods, maybe one will work."

Cecilia shook her head. "Forget it. This material can’t be washed with water. Even dry cleaning requires precise temperature control. Even if you could get the stain out, the water would ruin the shape of the garment. I won’t wear it again."

"Huh?" Sheila Hughes sighed regretfully. "No wonder everyone says luxury goods are so delicate. So this sweater is really ruined? It’s so expensive, what a shame."

And it was a really beautiful sweater, especially on a great beauty like Cecilia.

Cecilia thought it was a shame too, but the seventy-nine thousand was nothing to her. The real pity was that Lily was the one who had paid for it; it was a gift from her sister.

"Elias Warner said he’d pay for it, so you don’t need to feel guilty," Cecilia said, patting Sheila Hughes’s shoulder to comfort her.

Sheila Hughes asked hesitantly, "Seventy-nine thousand... can he really afford that?"

Cecilia snorted, her tone certain. "Whether he can afford it or not, he’ll pay. He’s too concerned with his reputation to back out."

’His personality is shallow in its darkness, and even shallower on the rare occasions it isn’t dark.’

’Fragile pride is his defining trait.’

’So he’ll definitely pay up.’

Back at the dorm, Cecilia’s "new clothes" instantly caught the attention of Estelle and Blair.

Estelle Goodman stared at Cecilia’s sweater in confusion. "Honey, your sweater didn’t look like that before, did it?"

Blair saw it at a glance. "Got stained?"

Just thinking of Elias Warner’s face was enough to sour Cecilia’s mood, so she just gave a slight nod, not bothering to explain.

"How could you be so careless? What a shame! That’s a new fall design from Dior, it was really hard to get!" Estelle Goodman said, her voice full of regret.

Cecilia shrugged. What was done was done; there was nothing she could do about it.

But then Blair suddenly stood up, walked over to Cecilia, and said, "Take it off."

"Huh?" Cecilia was startled and instinctively crossed her arms, feigning shyness. "What for? I love beautiful women too, but I’m not quite ready for that."

From the side, Estelle Goodman let a corner of her own pajamas slip to reveal a smooth shoulder and leaned in. "I’m ready! Pick me!"

Blair laughed and pushed the eager Estelle away, then looked at Cecilia in exasperation. "I may be into martial arts, but I’m one hundred percent straight, okay? I’m not interested in either of you!"

Hearing this, Cecilia pretended to be relieved and patted her chest.

Estelle, meanwhile, turned away with a look of mock heartbreak.

"It’s a shame to throw away such an expensive sweater. Take it off, I’ll give it a little upgrade," Blair said.

An upgrade?

Cecilia paused for a second, then it dawned on her.

’I almost forgot, Blair’s an art major!’

’She’s a painter!’

She hurriedly changed out of the sweater and handed it to Blair. "Honey, if you paint on it, it’ll have even more meaning. I’ll definitely keep it forever."

Blair held it up and took a look. The large red stain was quite big. A difficult expression crossed her face as she pursed her lips. "I’ll do my best."

"Hey, I have a white Chanel sweater! Blair, can you paint something on mine, too? You can make matching bestie sweaters for me and Cecilia!" Estelle chimed in again, trying to get in on the fun.

Blair just shot her a look. "You must have money to burn. Who in their right mind would just paint on a sweater that expensive? This is a rescue mission. Just drop it."

Estelle turned away again, putting on another wounded expression.
