Chapter 590 - 586: As Expected of My Sister

Lily Sterling smiled awkwardly and asked directly, "Mrs. White, you’ve seen ’Heavenly Destiny as Phoenix,’ right?"

So far, that was the only show of hers that had aired.

The other thing she was well-known for was the livestream incident involving sexual harassment on set.

"Yes!" At Lily Sterling’s reminder, Mrs. White immediately recognized her. "Flora! You played Flora, didn’t you?"

Lily Sterling nodded shyly. "That’s me. I’m surprised you recognized me."

"Oh, I loved watching it! I even subscribed to the VIP membership and paid extra to see the finale early," Mrs. White said, sighing with regret. "It’s a shame you didn’t make it to the end. I was so upset when your character was written off."

"What? Cecilia’s sister is a celebrity?" Mr. Grant finally realized, asking curiously.

Mrs. White nodded excitedly. "She sure is!"

Lily Sterling couldn’t help but correct him, "Sir, I’m an actor."

"Oh, really? Then I’ll have to check out your TV show sometime."

Seeing that his father and Mrs. White were about to get engrossed in conversation again, Emeric Grant quickly stood up to usher them out. "Dad, you and Mrs. White should get going. Cecilia finally found some free time to come over. Let the two of us have a moment alone."

At his words, Mrs. White finally caught on. "Right, right. We’ll leave now. You lovebirds need some time to yourselves."

’Lovebirds?’

Lily Sterling looked at her sister and blinked. ’Are they already together?’

Mr. Grant finally stopped pestering them. Bumping into Cecilia at Emeric’s office without any warning made him feel even more at ease; it was a clear sign that their relationship was stable.

And so, he left with a chuckle, leading Mrs. White away.

The moment they left, the office became much quieter.

Lily Sterling glanced at her sister, then at the handsome doctor, and thought to herself, ’Should I stay or should I go?’

"Sis, I’ll wait for you outside!"

Lily knew how to read a room. Besides, she only wanted to get a glimpse of her sister’s new beau, and now that she had, that was enough.

’A respectable profession.’

’Handsome.’

’And a very distinguished air about him.’

’As her sister, she was more than satisfied.’

So, without waiting for her sister’s reply, she turned and left, closing the door behind her.

A smile played on Cecilia Sterling’s lips as she turned to face Emeric Grant.

He was wearing a crisp white coat with a name tag pinned to his chest. It looked like he’d just gotten a haircut; the perfectly styled, short hair made him look incredibly sharp.

As for Emeric Grant, Cecilia’s sudden appearance filled him with only one emotion, a very clear and distinct one: joy.

He walked up to Cecilia, stared at her for a couple of seconds, and then asked, "What brings you here so suddenly?"

"Didn’t you say you missed me?"

Cecilia tilted her head slightly, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at him. To Emeric Grant, that little expression of hers was utterly enchanting.

"I missed you, too," Cecilia added.

A smile crinkled the corners of Emeric Grant’s eyes, but this time, he was much more restrained. Their relationship was different from the other day.

"Besides, it looks like I came at just the right time, didn’t I? I helped you deal with your father and Mrs. White again."

Emeric Grant nodded. "Yes. I owe you again."

"So how do you plan on repaying me?" Cecilia asked directly.

Emeric Grant thought for a moment. "I... I could take you to dinner? But not today, I’m on duty all day. I want to find a day when we’re both free. I want to do it properly!"

"Properly?" Cecilia pressed, a meaningful glint in her eyes. "Does that count as a date?"

With a smile in his eyes, Emeric Grant nodded without the slightest hesitation. "It does!"

’He wanted to pursue her!’

"Alright. I’ll be waiting to hear from you then," Cecilia said. She raised her hand and lightly tapped Emeric Grant’s name tag with her finger. She slowly turned, then glanced back over her shoulder, her eyes locked on his handsome, well-defined face the entire time.

The entire sequence of movements was fluid and graceful, radiating an innate, seductive charm.

Just watching her made Emeric Grant’s heart pound.

It wasn’t until Cecilia pushed the door open and left that a joy unseen by others slowly filled his eyes, and the corners of his mouth turned up in an unconscious smile.

The next second, a knock sounded at the door. Emeric Grant’s expression shifted instantly, becoming serious again. "Come in."

A young nurse poked her head in. "Dr. Grant, the maternity patient in bed 17 needs you to take a look."

"I’ll be right there."

In the elevator, Lily Sterling couldn’t resist asking her sister for an update on her new romance, but the answer she received was a huge disappointment.

"You’re not together yet?"

Seeing the disappointed look on her sister’s face, Cecilia Sterling couldn’t help but laugh. "What’s the matter? You seem more anxious than I am."

"That’s not it," Lily Sterling said quickly. "I just thought you two were already a couple."

"But we’ve kissed."

Cecilia’s casual remark left Lily stunned.

"Huh?" She thought she had misheard. "You’ve kissed? You two..."

Watching her sister’s stunned, speechless expression, Cecilia Sterling raised a smug eyebrow. "Shocking, isn’t it?"

Lily Sterling’s mouth hung open. ’You can do that?’

’She really was too naive. That was her sister for you. When she saw a handsome guy, she didn’t just make the first move—she went straight for his lips!’

’She didn’t get it, but she was profoundly impressed!’

Back at home, Jasmine Sterling, who hadn’t gone to the office, had already prepared lunch.

"Are you okay? What did the doctor say?" Jasmine Sterling asked, concerned about Lily.

"I’m fine, Mom," Lily reassured her. "I’m all better already, and I haven’t even taken the medicine."

She was telling the truth. After hearing what her sister had told her, she was instantly cured.

’Gossip really is the best medicine for everything!’

Jasmine Sterling touched her daughter’s forehead and was relieved to find she didn’t have a fever.

"Hurry and wash your hands for lunch. I made a lot of your favorite dishes. If we’re free this afternoon, we can all go out for a bit."

The two sisters smiled and nodded. An opportunity like this was truly rare for the three of them these days.

「Pinnacle at Midpoint.」

This was the time of year when all the major brands released their new seasonal collections. Autumn collections were always the most beautiful. Not long ago, Cecilia had started receiving messages from sales associates at various brands, telling her the new arrivals were in and waiting for her to come and choose.

Today was the perfect opportunity. The mother and her two daughters arrived at the mall and walked straight into the most prominently located LV store.

"Miss Sterling, you’re here."

The young sales associate had gotten word and was waiting by the entrance. Seeing Cecilia arrive, she proactively opened the door and greeted her warmly, "We’ve already reserved the VIP room for you. All of this season’s new items have been brought inside for you in advance."

"Thank you." Cecilia was in a good mood today, and her voice was a few shades softer than usual.

The associate said it was her pleasure, her gaze sweeping casually over Jasmine and Lily Sterling next to Cecilia. Then her eyes lit up.

’A big star!’

’This is going to be a huge sale today!’

Secretly delighted, her attitude became even more enthusiastic. Just as Cecilia and the others sat down, a menu of high-end afternoon teas, wines, and other beverages was presented. "Miss Sterling, please see what you’d like. These are all complimentary for our VIP clients!"
