Felix Vance stopped at the doorway, his gaze falling upon Jasmine Sterling.

Her features were gentle, her long hair gracefully tied back, possessing the unique charm and elegance of a mature woman.

With just one look, Felix Vance understood why his father, after being single for so many years, had suddenly fallen for a woman at first sight.

"You’re Felix Vance?"

The door closed. Jasmine Sterling spoke first, "Please, have a seat."

Facing a young man nearly the same age as Cecilia, Jasmine Sterling was momentarily unsure what kind of attitude to adopt, so she could only try to act as natural as possible.

Felix Vance’s lips twitched into a superficial smile. "You know my name? It seems my dad has told you everything."

Jasmine Sterling’s expression shifted slightly at his words. The way Felix Vance spoke struck her as very odd.

His tone was clearly tinged with disdain and mockery, yet he used honorifics.

But it was only for a moment. She quickly adjusted her composure and nodded. "Yes, your father mentions you often."

Felix Vance scoffed. Ignoring Jasmine Sterling’s invitation to sit, he began to wander around her modest office, looking it over.

"You look quite young. Are you even forty?" Felix Vance asked, seemingly at random.

Jasmine Sterling watched him. The petulant nature of a rich man’s son was on full display.

Finn Vance had mentioned that because his mother had passed away early, he had spoiled Felix over the years, ruining his temperament.

At this thought, Jasmine Sterling felt a new flicker of pity for him, for a boy who grew up without a mother’s love. She patiently explained, "I’m forty-five, one year younger than your father."

Felix Vance raised an eyebrow, his gaze shifting to the large bouquet of vibrant red roses on the desk. "From my dad?"

As he spoke, he stepped forward, picked up the card, and read the words on it. A cold sneer touched his lips, but a deep frost filled his eyes.

"Red roses." Felix Vance shook his head. "So cliché. Do you like them?"

"You came to see me so suddenly. Is there something you wanted to say to me?" Jasmine Sterling could sense his ill intentions and had no desire to play along any further, as his hostility was palpable.

"You can say what’s on your mind. As your elder, I won’t get angry with you."

Felix Vance turned his head and stared at Jasmine Sterling for a long moment. "Can I really speak my mind?"

Jasmine Sterling nodded. "Of course."

Felix Vance pursed his lips. After a brief pause, he said, "I don’t approve of you and my dad."

Jasmine Sterling looked at him, her expression serene. She had been mentally prepared for this, as his attitude toward her had already hinted as much.

But Felix Vance’s attitude was too arrogant. And though she had a peaceful disposition, she was not in a subservient position in her relationship with Finn Vance.

She gracefully sat down on the leather sofa, took a sip of her coffee, and then said, "Then you should be telling your father that."

Felix Vance smiled faintly and took two steps to sit down opposite Jasmine Sterling. "Oh, I will. But I also need to make it clear to you that my dad isn’t someone just anyone can covet."

Jasmine Sterling’s brow furrowed, his words making her uncomfortable.

Before she could speak, Felix Vance continued, "I know that with my dad’s status, countless women in this world would throw themselves at him. He hasn’t been moved by any of them for years—until you showed up. Miss Sterling, you may look kind, but your methods are quite impressive."

"It’s only been a month, right? And my dad already seems completely lost."

"Felix Vance." Jasmine Sterling looked up, her expression serious. "As Mr. Vance’s son, you have every right and reason to express your opinion on my relationship with him. But that doesn’t give you a reason to attack a stranger without cause."

"My relationship with your father began with him pursuing me. To this day, we are still in the stage of getting to know each other, and our relationship has not progressed any further."

"As for your talk of coveting or using methods, I act with integrity. I have never resorted to such things, nor would I ever stoop to them."

Her tone remained gentle, her emotions sounding completely stable.

Felix Vance was a little surprised. "But you don’t seem angry at all."

But Jasmine Sterling just chuckled softly and shook her head. "I just told you, you could speak your mind, and I wouldn’t get angry."

"You’re about the same age as my daughter, so in my eyes, you’re just a child. But even if I’m not angry, that doesn’t mean your words just now didn’t hurt me. I hope that in the future, you won’t make malicious assumptions about others without any real evidence."

"If there’s nothing else, you may leave now."

Felix Vance shrugged. He had accomplished his goal for the day, anyway. He stood up and looked at Jasmine Sterling. "My position is clear. If you’re not willing to give up on my dad voluntarily, then I’ll..."

Before Felix Vance could finish, Jasmine Sterling cut him off. "First, go back and make your position clear to your father. After that, I will have a good talk with him."

Felix Vance thought for a moment, then nodded. "Fine. I won’t disturb Miss Sterling’s work any longer."

With that, he turned and walked out, muttering with some amusement, "A cleaning company... How interesting..."

After Felix Vance left, Jasmine Sterling sat on the sofa, stunned for a moment, before slowly letting out a breath.

She took out her phone and, citing work as the reason, politely declined her evening date with Finn Vance.

Just then, the internal office phone rang again.

"Jasmine, a Miss Megan Nash is here to see you."

It took Jasmine Sterling a few seconds to remember who Megan Nash was, but then she quickly invited her in.

As soon as they met, Megan Nash apologized. "I’m so sorry, Ms. Sterling, for showing up at your company unannounced."

"It’s no problem at all. I’m not some big-shot CEO you need an appointment to see. Miss Nash, can I get you something to drink? Is coffee okay?" Jasmine Sterling swept away the unpleasantness from her encounter with Felix Vance and greeted Megan Nash with great warmth.

Megan Nash nodded her thanks and handed a beautiful shopping bag to Jasmine Sterling. "Ms. Sterling, at the charity gala last time, you soiled that silk cheongsam during the game. I promised I’d have a new one made for you. Please, see if you like it."

Jasmine Sterling was startled, then smiled sheepishly. "Miss Nash, you really didn’t have to. You actually had a new one made for me?"

"Of course! I can’t just make empty promises, can I?" Megan Nash said with a smile. "You donated so much to the foundation. Even setting aside your role representing the Jandon Group, I personally have immense respect for you. Please consider this cheongsam a personal gift from me. You mustn’t refuse."

Her kindness was hard to refuse, and Megan Nash was clearly very sincere. Jasmine Sterling no longer demurred and took the cheongsam out to have a look. The color was Crescent White.

"The material probably isn’t as fine as your previous one with the silver silk thread, but I used high-quality silk. I hope you don’t mind."
