Reborn Rich: Prices Dropped, My Savings Didn't
Chapter 481 - 477: Younger Men Are Great, Treasures in Every Way
Wyatt Sherman was not the type to wear his heart on his sleeve.
But there were some things he had to make clear beforehand.
"Todd, that girl in the car just now is named Cecilia Sterling. I’m pursuing her. Didn’t you ask me before what type of girl I like?"
Todd, slightly stunned, nodded. "You said you like beautiful women."
Wyatt nodded seriously and pointed toward Cecilia’s car. "When I said ’beautiful women,’ I wasn’t speaking in general terms. I was being specific. I was talking about Cecilia."
"Oh, man." Todd scratched his head in frustration. "My bad for not asking for details, brother. But you, too! Why didn’t you tell me you liked someone? Now you’ve got me... and I’ve got you... I mean..."
Wyatt felt even more helpless, as he had been completely unaware of the other party’s arrangements.
"I have to actually win her over before I have the right to tell people. It’s not a sure thing yet, so what was there to say?" Wyatt said. "Anyway, I’m giving you a heads-up now. Watch what you do in a bit, and don’t make the other girl feel awkward."
She was innocent in all this, after all.
Todd nodded, privately grumbling about Reggie Hale. ’I shouldn’t have listened to Reggie. Now look, he’s put everyone in an awkward spot.’
His unintentional comment made Wyatt subconsciously furrow his brow.
"What did you just say? Reggie?"
"Yeah," Todd said, looking at Wyatt. "It was Reggie’s idea to bring you along in the first place. He wanted to introduce you to a girl, said all his girlfriend’s friends were exceptionally beautiful. I figured you’ve been single for over a year, so it wouldn’t hurt to try setting you up. Thought maybe something would come of it."
Wyatt’s expression had already darkened.
Because he and Cecilia had run into Reggie Hale and his girlfriend at a trendy clothing store in the mall the other day.
And Cecilia knew his girlfriend.
’Under those circumstances, even if nothing was said outright, Reggie should have been able to figure out what was going on between me and Cecilia, right?’
’So why would he suddenly want to set me up with a girlfriend? This is clearly intentional!’
Besides, at school, they were in different years and different departments. They didn’t interact much, so this move was really out of character for him.
’Could it be...’
’...that his girlfriend has some issue with Cecilia?’
As expected of the vice president of the Lorcain U student union, a top student—his logic and reasoning skills were sharp as ever. He immediately identified who was at the root of the problem.
The key figure wasn’t Reggie Hale at all, but his girlfriend!
"Wyatt, you okay? What’s wrong?" Seeing his expression change, Todd couldn’t help but feel a little nervous.
Wyatt shook his head slightly. "It’s nothing. You go on ahead. I’ll be there in a minute."
With that, he turned and walked back toward Cecilia’s car.
At that moment, inside the car, Jane Sterling was buzzing with excitement. Cecilia had just told her about turning down Wyatt’s camping invitation because she had to go look at the mountain property today.
This earned her a sharp critique from Jane. "How can you not get your priorities straight? That mountain isn’t going anywhere, but an opportunity to go camping with a hot guy doesn’t come around every day."
"And look at all these young, virile bodies! Tsk, tsk. That sun-kissed skin looks so healthy and sexy. They look like they’ve got endless bull-like stamina."
Upon hearing this, Cecilia gave her a look of utter bewilderment. "That’s so crass. Girl, are you really that thirsty? Isn’t your grandpa constantly setting you up with potential suitors?"
"How is that the same? The guys my grandpa sets me up with are all ’mature-lite’ types in their early thirties. Can they even compare to these young guys? You don’t get it. Once a man passes twenty-six, he’s basically sixty. Their prime is just that short!"
Cecilia actually agreed with the point about men having a short prime. Not only did their physical functions take a nosedive, but the middle-aged spread was also the fate of most men.
"But it looks like they all brought their girlfriends... Are there any single ones?" Jane only noticed something was off after observing them for a while.
The words had barely left her mouth when Wyatt appeared at the car window. "Single whats?"
Cecilia couldn’t help but laugh. "Nothing, my best friend is just talking nonsense."
"What do you mean, nonsense? Kiddo, are any of your classmates single?" Jane asked eagerly.
Her question completely threw Wyatt off. It took him a moment to recover before he smiled and said, "Yeah, there are. Several of them are single."
Although most of them had brought girlfriends, there were still a few who were single, like him.
"Then why don’t you introduce all of them to your big sis later, okay?"
"All of them?" Cecilia exclaimed. "What kind of player-talk is that?"
Jane clutched her chest and said with mock seriousness, "Your sis isn’t a player. I just want to give all the hot guys in the world a home!"
"Don’t listen to her nonsense," Cecilia said, waving her hand dismissively and starting the car, ready to leave. "You guys have fun. I just wanted to say hi."
She had already turned him down. Even though this was a chance encounter, she felt it would be rude to just join in halfway through.
But how could Wyatt let such a golden opportunity slip by? He quickly reached out, his hand gripping the edge of Cecilia’s open window, and looked at her like a little puppy. "You’re already here, why not join us? I didn’t invite anyone else... unless you have something else to do?"
She didn’t, actually.
But she still had Jane Sterling with her.
But the way Wyatt was looking at her so eagerly made the words of refusal catch in her throat.
If he wasn’t her type at all, she would have rejected him without a second thought.
But she had a pretty good impression of Wyatt, especially after they had met up alone before.
Meanwhile, Jane, who had been so boisterous just moments ago, fell silent at the critical moment. She could talk a big game, but when it came to things like this, it was ultimately up to Cecilia.
’Of course, she wouldn’t mind getting to know a few more college boys herself.’
’After all, she’d been back in the country for so long, and the number of times she’d gotten any action could be counted on one hand. And as for the satisfaction level... tsk, tsk...’
’Words fail.’
’Younger guys are the best. Treasures in every way.’
"Okay, wait for me to make a call," Cecilia finally relented.
Wyatt’s eyes lit up, his entire being instantly illuminated. "Okay."
Cecilia took out her phone and called Duane. The call connected after just one ring.
"Cecilia?"
"It’s me," Cecilia said. "I’m camping with some friends here on Mount Lyra. Are you busy? Could you run an errand and bring some things over?"
Cecilia felt that joining them suddenly would disrupt their plans. For example, the supplies they had prepared were likely calculated per person, so what would they do with two extra people?
Besides, for this kind of activity, everyone usually pitched in to buy supplies and food. It really wouldn’t be right for her and Jane to show up empty-handed.
So, she had Duane go to a sushi restaurant and buy a large assortment of high-end sushi and premium sashimi, as well as some raw ingredients for a barbecue.
This way, she and Jane could feel more at ease and could join in the fun with everyone else without any reservations.
Once the arrangements were made, Cecilia locked the car, and she and Jane Sterling got out.
Wyatt was blooming with joy internally, his happiness written all over his face. "Should I introduce you to everyone first?"
Cecilia smiled and nodded, but as she looked up, she saw Cindy Underwood walking toward her, arm in arm with her boyfriend.
