Reborn Rich: Prices Dropped, My Savings Didn't

Chapter 474 - 470: He Wants to Date Cecilia Sterling

"Seraphina, the crowd downstairs dispersed. That guy left."

Her roommate glanced down from the dorm, then turned and waved to Seraphina. "But it looks like that guy is still downstairs."

"Which one?" Seraphina raised a questioning eyebrow, getting up from her chair and walking to the window. She didn’t open it, just peered down through the glass.

Seeing it was Ethan Sterling, Seraphina didn’t have much of a reaction, just pursed her lips in resignation.

’Causing such a big scene is bound to get people talking.’ Seraphina felt a surge of irritation.

Before long, Wyatt Sherman arrived with members of the student council.

Ethan Sterling and his friends quickly wiped the expressions off their faces, stood in a neat, obedient row, and called out in unison, "Senior."

"Ethan Sterling?" Wyatt Sherman’s brow furrowed. His probing gaze circled the group before finally landing on Ethan Sterling. "What are you doing here?"

The student council had received a report that someone was confessing their feelings with a bouquet of flowers in front of the girls’ dormitory, attracting a large crowd, which was why they had rushed over.

Lorcain U didn’t exactly forbid students from dating. As long as gestures like confessions didn’t involve open flames or other safety hazards, the university and the student council wouldn’t interfere.

However, it was exceptionally hot today. Such a dense gathering of onlookers could lead to heatstroke, so the student council had to step in to supervise.

"Here for the show?" Wyatt Sherman pressed when Ethan Sterling remained silent.

Ethan Sterling thought for a moment. ’That’s not wrong, I guess,’ he figured, and nodded.

"It’s too hot a day to be gathering for this kind of spectacle. Break it up and get going." When facing Ethan Sterling and his friends, Wyatt Sherman still carried the authority of an upperclassman. His tone wasn’t harsh, but the group listened obediently.

"Alright, senior, we’ll get going then." Wayne tugged on Ethan Sterling’s arm. He had no desire to deal with the student council.

"Bye, senior."

Ethan Sterling hastily said his goodbyes and let Wayne pull him away.

Wyatt Sherman sighed softly and finally looked up at the entrance to the girls’ dorm. The crowd had long since dispersed, without a single person in sight.

Seeing this, Todd, who was standing to the side, let out an instinctive "Tsk." "They sure scattered fast. I was hoping to see what all the fuss was about!"

Realizing they were too late, Wyatt Sherman waved a hand dismissively. "Alright, let’s head back. This year’s freshmen are really something else, pulling this kind of stunt before their military training is even over."

Todd slung an arm over Wyatt Sherman’s shoulder. "The ones who should be in a hurry aren’t, and the ones who shouldn’t are rushing into things. Wyatt, how long have you been single? You not planning on dating before graduation?"

At his words, the others all turned to look at Wyatt Sherman. With his qualities, there was never a shortage of girls who liked and pursued him, yet he had remained single for over a year.

Wyatt Sherman didn’t shy away from the topic. "If I meet someone I like, I’ll date them."

There were girls who liked him, and girls who chased him.

But he preferred to be the one to actively pursue someone he liked.

"So what’s your type?" Todd asked.

Wyatt Sherman blurted out, "A beautiful woman."

The kind of girl who, in a crowd, would instantly capture his attention, making everyone else invisible the moment he laid eyes on her.

That was Cecilia Sterling.

"Ooh, so Chairman Sherman isn’t above the rest of us! He likes beautiful women too!" someone immediately teased.

Wyatt Sherman laughed. "Obviously. Who doesn’t? You don’t?"

The person rubbed their nose and grinned sheepishly. "I do, I do."

A knowing smile spread across Todd’s face. He remembered that Reggie kid saying he would introduce Wyatt Sherman to a girlfriend—a total beauty, no less. He couldn’t help but feel a flicker of excitement and anticipation.

He clapped Wyatt Sherman on the shoulder. "Hey, don’t forget you’re coming camping with us this weekend. We already agreed."

"Who agreed with you? I said I’d go if I have time," Wyatt Sherman corrected him.

’I still don’t know what’s going on with Cecilia Sterling. I definitely want to ask her out on a date.’

"You..." Todd glared, dissatisfied. "Well, I’ve already told everyone, and we’ve prepared enough stuff for you and Thalassa."

"Thalassa agreed to go camping with you?" someone exclaimed in shock.

As the Student Council President of Lorcain U, Thalassa Bowman’s name was even more renowned on campus than the university’s chancellor. She was impartial, decisive, and formidable in her methods.

But she was also upright and loyal, so those who knew her well became good friends with her.

Conversely, those who didn’t know her and had only heard her name and stories were simply scared stiff of her.

"Of course. Thalassa agreed without a second thought." Todd said, then raised an eyebrow at Wyatt Sherman. "What? Are you a bigger deal than Thalassa?"

"I wouldn’t dare!" Wyatt Sherman quickly warned Todd to watch his words.

"If you wouldn’t dare, then stop making excuses. Thalassa knows you’re going too. If you don’t show up, you’ll be standing her up. You’d better think carefully about the consequences."

Wyatt Sherman: "..."

’But I want to go on a date with Cecilia Sterling!’

「Meanwhile, Cecilia Sterling was at the Go-Kart Club, enjoying some track time.」

Just then, Julian Summers had finished enthusiastically giving Cecilia Sterling a detailed rundown of his beloved go-kart. It was a competition-grade kart, with all its parts custom-made. The moment the engine roared to life, you could tell it was different.

Julian Summers was extremely confident in his area of expertise, explaining all the technical jargon to Cecilia Sterling with perfect clarity. Cecilia Sterling listened, captivated, her only dissatisfaction being the incredibly tacky paint job on Julian’s kart.

It was a particularly awful yellow and blue color scheme. Each color was ugly in its own right, and putting them together only made it worse.

But it was Julian Summers’s beloved kart, so Cecilia Sterling didn’t offer any opinions. ’Considering its price alone, whatever it looks like has to be right.’

"I want to get one too."

Cecilia Sterling’s interest was piqued by Julian Summers’s spiel. Besides, driving the go-karts was genuinely addictive. She liked it.

"Huh? You want to get a kart like mine?" Julian Summers laughed. "Miss, you only have a beginner’s license right now. You’re a million miles away from competition-grade. Just stick with the club’s karts for now."

"But it’s not the same feeling. Or are you saying competition-grade karts aren’t allowed on the beginner track?" Cecilia Sterling asked.

"It’s not that they can’t go on the beginner track, it’s that competition-grade karts aren’t suitable for novices. You slam on the gas and it’ll just shoot forward. Can you handle that? Why do you think there are so many license levels and tests? It’s a step-by-step process to improve your skills. You’re in the novice stage right now. You can’t drive a competition-grade kart. It’s easy to get into an accident."

Julian Summers spoke earnestly, and from experience.

Cecilia Sterling was someone who took advice, especially when she heard the words "get into an accident." The thought vanished from her mind instantly.

She had fallen prey to the rich person’s law: fear of death!

Just then, the phone in Cecilia Sterling’s hand vibrated. She casually opened the message. It was from Wyatt Sherman.

"Cecilia Sterling, are you free this weekend? I’d like to invite you to go camping with some classmates. Would you be able to make it?"
