Chapter 365 - 363: I Have My Own Arrangements

"The two of us don’t need you to be our sugar mama. You can get a few boy toys instead."

Cecilia Sterling said teasingly, but she was genuinely happy for Blair. The past twenty years had been a mixed bag of fortune and misfortune for her; compared to an ordinary person, she had certainly missed out on a lot. If not for martial arts tempering her character, she might not have become the person she was today.

Thankfully, every cloud has a silver lining, and she was finally receiving heaven’s favor.

"Cecilia, once I get my earnings, the first thing I want to do is buy back Master’s courtyard."

Cecilia immediately agreed. "Of course, that’s no problem. I’ve been waiting for this day, I just never expected it to come so suddenly and so quickly. Your master would be thrilled to know."

Blair nodded. Then Estelle suddenly asked, "What about tomorrow? Didn’t that damn company send a message telling Blair to come in tomorrow morning? Are you still going?"

The question made Blair pause. If Estelle hadn’t suddenly brought it up, she would have forgotten about it completely.

Estelle answered her own question. "If you ask me, don’t go. You can’t expect anything from that trash company anyway. Besides, didn’t Blair do just fine streaming all by herself today?"

"You have to go!" Cecilia said.

"Huh? After the way they treated you today, why would we go?" Estelle asked, confused.

Blair came to her senses and added, "Cecilia’s right. I have to go."

Cecilia sighed softly. "No matter what, your contract is still in their hands. Since we’re planning to terminate it, we shouldn’t give them any leverage before then. If you keep refusing to go to the company, they could use your non-compliance with company arrangements to make terminating the contract more difficult. That would put us in a more passive position."

Blair thought Cecilia made a good point, and once Estelle calmed down, she also understood what Cecilia meant.

Seeing their grim and troubled expressions, Cecilia couldn’t help but laugh. "No need to look so serious. Their attitude was dismissive today because Blair was just a minor new streamer. But things are different now. The hype Blair generated today probably surpasses even Cece Desire at her peak. Just you wait. When we get to the company tomorrow, they’ll be singing a completely different tune."

In any field or circle, there’s a universal, timeless truth: ’When you’re famous, when you have confidence, or when you have wealth and power, you’ll find yourself surrounded by ’good people’!’

Cecilia hit the nail on the head. The next day, when she and Estelle accompanied Blair to the company again, the elevator doors opened to the successive "POP! POP!" of party poppers, immediately followed by the crowd’s cheers and applause.

This over-the-top welcome ceremony slightly stunned the group, even though they had been mentally prepared. Blair froze for a moment, and as she focused her eyes, she saw two people holding a large red banner high in the air.

"Congratulations to Blair on breaking the 20 million follower mark!"

That’s right. In the roughly ten hours from the end of her stream last night to nine o’clock this morning, Blair’s follower count had surged from 16 million to over 20 million!

Chuck Lawson, having shed yesterday’s superficial indifference, was now radiating with vibrant enthusiasm. He was the one clapping the loudest in the entire crowd.

Just as they were regaining their composure, a dapper, middle-aged man in a suit and leather shoes approached Blair with a huge bouquet of flowers. He handed them to her and said, "Congratulations on becoming a top-tier figure in the industry overnight. With the company’s support, I hope your future path will be ever more stable and far-reaching!"

The man’s face was unfamiliar. They later learned he was also one of the bosses of Wanderlust Entertainment and a partner of Caleb Cross—his name was Miles Coleman!

Blair reached out, took the flowers he offered, and said a polite, "Thank you."

Standing to the side, Estelle was left completely speechless by the company’s two-faced, ass-kissing performance. She secretly rolled her eyes and muttered to Cecilia, "What a bunch of phonies."

Cecilia’s lips curved into a slight smile. She could completely understand their behavior. After all, Blair was now the company’s new cash cow, and her personal charm was captivating the entire internet. This wave of popularity certainly wouldn’t fade too quickly.

This time, the meeting wasn’t in yesterday’s small conference room, but in the reception room reserved for important clients.

The person receiving Blair had also changed from Chuck Lawson to the company boss, Miles Coleman.

Chuck Lawson was walking at the back and was about to enter when he was pulled aside once again by Cece Desire’s assistant, Warner.

"Chuck!"

Chuck Lawson’s brow furrowed. He instinctively glanced at the reception room door, and only when he saw no one was paying attention did he quickly pull Warner a few steps over to a nearby corner.

"What is it now?"

Warner looked grim. Blair’s sudden rise to fame yesterday had caused an explosion across the internet. The unprecedented hype surrounding this event was comparable to a top male and female celebrity suddenly announcing they were married and pregnant!

It was a level of attention and hype that an ordinary influencer could never achieve, no matter how hard they tried. Even when a top beauty blogger was banned for tax evasion, the buzz wasn’t this high. But Blair had achieved it!

As the industry’s number one, Cece Desire had personally witnessed how insane the effect of Blair’s stream was yesterday. Every notification on her phone, every app she opened, was filled with news about Blair.

She was furious!

Even though the die-hard fans in her fan groups said she was still the number one female streamer!

But the numbers didn’t lie. She had spent years in the business to accumulate her current twenty-something million followers, and Blair was about to catch up to her in just one day!

"Chuck, Cece is usually good to you, right? You’re not going to forget what you promised me yesterday just because this Blair girl suddenly blew up, are you?"

’Even if I can’t change the reality of the situation, I have to at least screw her over a little. I can’t just stand by and watch her be so successful and happy!’

"Don’t worry, I’ve got a plan!"

Warner had thought Chuck Lawson would refuse, but unexpectedly, he just gave a crooked smile and raised his eyebrows smugly.

Warner’s eyes lit up when he heard this. "Really?"

"Of course. Who’s the most difficult person to work with in the whole company?"

Without a moment’s hesitation, Warner blurted out, "Shane Webb from the Planning Department?"

Chuck Lawson gave a meaningful smile. "I’ve assigned him to Blair’s team as the director and lead planner. With his explosive temper, he might even get into a fight with her!"

"Pfft..." Warner couldn’t hold back a laugh and gave Chuck Lawson a thumbs-up. "You’re the man, Chuck. Don’t worry, as long as you make Blair miserable, Cece will definitely remember this favor."

"Don’t mention it. I’ve gotta go in!"

After Chuck Lawson left, Warner couldn’t wait to share the good news with Cece. She’d been so angry she hadn’t slept all night; she needed some good news to cheer her up.

Meanwhile, in the reception room, Blair was presented with another contract, personally handed to her by Miles Coleman.

The three women’s eyes fell on the contract in unison. Finally, Blair herself spoke up. "I came to the company yesterday to terminate my contract. You’ve prepared another one for me today... you don’t really think I’m going to sign it, do you?"
