Reborn Rich: Prices Dropped, My Savings Didn't
Chapter 307 - 305: Eugene Jacobs, You Bastard
The Atheria Platinum Hotel.
Eugene Jacobs sped to the hotel. The moment he entered the lobby, he confidently headed straight for the elevators, only to be stopped by an attendant.
"Excuse me, sir. All non-resident guests must register at the front desk."
Eugene Jacobs stopped in his tracks, his expression souring.
’He’d booked rooms here several times before, and they’d never been this strict about registration when he had visitors. Why stop him today?’
But with his important business in mind, Eugene Jacobs didn’t want to waste time on trivialities. He just muttered a complaint, "It’s never been this strict before, has it?"
"Well, sir, security has been tightened recently. The city’s cracking down on crime, so the hotel has to register every single guest. We appreciate your understanding," the attendant explained politely.
But when Eugene Jacobs got to the front desk and gave the room number, he was stumped again when the receptionist asked for the name of the guest staying in the room.
’How was he supposed to know the name of Miss Sterling’s lawyer?’
The receptionist gave him a probing look, and Eugene Jacobs grew a little embarrassed. He quickly recovered, though, and said, "Let me make a call and ask. It’s a client, and I’ve forgotten their name."
The receptionist nodded with a smile, and Eugene Jacobs stepped aside to dial Cecilia Sterling’s number.
"Miss Sterling, I’m at the hotel, but they’re saying I have to register to go upstairs."
"That much trouble?" Cecilia Sterling paused before continuing, "In that case, I’ll just have my lawyer come downstairs. We can talk in the lobby."
"Yes, of course. That’s much more convenient. I’ll wait for you both in the lounge area. How much longer until you arrive, Miss Sterling?"
"Not long. I’m on my way now."
Eugene Jacobs hung up, straightening his clothes in high spirits. Things were looking up today. He could already picture Miss Sterling signing the contract.
But just then, a cheerful, delighted voice called out from the side, "Eugene!"
Eugene Jacobs froze at the sound of the voice. He turned his head and saw, to his astonishment, Yvette Sawyer—his young mistress!
"Yvette? What are you doing here?"
Eugene Jacobs’s face was a mask of shock and surprise, his eyes wide behind his glasses.
Yvette Sawyer, however, seemed not to notice his unease. She stepped forward, affectionately took his arm, and said with a beaming smile, "I came to see you, of course."
She seemed to be in an excellent mood. She had found Eugene Jacobs waiting for her right in the lobby, whereas before, the two of them had always snuck upstairs separately, shrouded in secrecy. She had never once been able to be with him out in the open.
Eugene Jacobs had no time to ask for details. He had important business today. ’What am I supposed to do with my mistress here?’
’If Miss Sterling gets a bad impression of me because of this, the deal could fall through. After all, Yvette Sawyer clearly looks like she’s still a student.’
So, he subconsciously tried to shoo her away. "Yvette, you should go home for now. I’m here for something important today. I’ll call you another time, okay?"
As he spoke, his eyes kept darting toward the hotel entrance, terrified that Cecilia Sterling would walk in at any second.
Yvette Sawyer’s face stiffened. She noticed Eugene Jacobs’s nervous glances toward the entrance and demanded, "What do you mean, ’something important’? Weren’t you the one who told me to come find you? And now you’re telling me to leave? What do you take me for?"
"I... I told you to come?" Eugene Jacobs was completely baffled. ’I chatted with Yvette earlier today, but I definitely didn’t ask her to meet me.’
"Why do you keep looking at the hotel entrance?" Yvette Sawyer stared at him, her face cold. "Are you waiting for someone else?"
"I’m here for work, Yvette! And I didn’t ask you to meet me today!"
The sound of their argument drew frequent glances from the nearby staff, but they seemed unfazed. In the hotel business, what hadn’t they seen before?
"Eugene Jacobs!"
A sharp cry suddenly echoed through the hotel lobby, but it hadn’t come from Yvette Sawyer.
Eugene Jacobs followed the sound with his eyes, and his scalp went numb with dread.
Sienna Bowman!
His other mistress.
Sienna Bowman clearly had a much more explosive temper than Yvette Sawyer. Seeing Yvette clinging intimately to Eugene Jacobs’s arm, fury erupted in Sienna’s eyes. Without a second thought, she charged forward, raised her hand, and slapped him across the face!
"AH!"
The sudden slap made Yvette Sawyer cry out in shock.
Eugene Jacobs was stunned, too—not by the slap, but by the utterly bizarre scene unfolding before him.
But he had no time to process it. Sienna Bowman cursed furiously, "You bastard, Eugene Jacobs! Who is she?"
"And who are you?" Yvette Sawyer shot back, having recovered from the shock. "What right do you have to hit him?"
"I’m his girlfriend!"
"You—you’re his girlfriend?" Yvette Sawyer turned to look at Eugene Jacobs, her eyes instantly welling up. "If she’s your girlfriend, then who am I?"
"Eugene Jacobs, you’d better explain yourself!"
"No wonder you were in such a hurry for me to leave. So there’s another one. Did you get your dates mixed up?"
"What do you mean, ’another one’? I’ve been with him since I was sixteen! You’re the other woman!"
"I’ve been with him since I was sixteen, too!"
"Eugene Jacobs, you’re shameless! How could you do this to me?!"
The two girls’ arguing and questioning roared in Eugene Jacobs’s ears like a jet engine. He couldn’t explain. He didn’t even know how to begin.
Besides, he had far more important business to attend to today. ’I can’t let these two mistresses ruin my future.’
"Enough!"
Unable to take it anymore, Eugene Jacobs bellowed. The sound cut through the lobby, causing even guests in the lounge area to stand up and look over curiously.
It also made Cecilia Sterling, who happened to be walking through the hotel entrance at that very moment, freeze in her tracks.
An expression of shock crossed her face, but a hint of amusement flickered in her eyes. ’Looks like I’ve arrived at just the right time!’
Eugene Jacobs had intended to intimidate his two mistresses into leaving, but who would have thought that right after he shouted, he would see Cecilia Sterling appear in the hotel lobby.
Startled, he completely ignored the two so-called girlfriends in front of him. He pushed them aside and rushed straight toward Cecilia Sterling. "Miss Sterling, you’re here."
This time, Eugene Jacobs’s composure was gone, replaced by obvious panic.
Before Cecilia Sterling could speak, Sienna Bowman and Yvette Sawyer followed him over. Their glares at Cecilia were even more hostile, because she was stunning—far more beautiful than either of them.
Seeing this, Sienna Bowman completely broke down, wailing, "Eugene Jacobs! Just how many others do you have? Didn’t you say you only loved me?"
Cecilia Sterling looked at Eugene Jacobs with an expression of shocked horror. "What is going on here?"
Eugene Jacobs was panicking badly. He wanted to explain, but he couldn’t get a word in edgewise under the verbal assault from his two girlfriends. They cursed at him, questioned him, and pulled at his clothes, plunging the scene into total chaos.
