Reborn Rich: Prices Dropped, My Savings Didn't
Chapter 304 - 302: A Bombshell
Just then, Fabian Griffin produced another photograph. "This is the third one. Her name is Daniels."
He paused for a moment, glancing up at Cecilia Sterling and Estelle Goodman before continuing, "She’s a junior in the architecture department at Lorcain Institute of Technology. Which makes her your upperclassman!"
"Lorcain Tech?"
Estelle Goodman exclaimed in shock. She instinctively turned to look at Cecilia Sterling, who met her gaze with an equally surprised expression.
Fabian Griffin nodded. "That’s right. And it seems Eugene Jacobs treats this Daniels exceptionally well. He’s renting a very top-tier high-rise apartment for her in Lakeshore Heights. The monthly rent is around four or five dollars."
"Lakeshore Heights? That’s really far from Lorcain Tech!" Estelle said.
Fabian Griffin scoffed. "Of course, for something like this, it’s better to be far from your own school. Besides, according to my investigation, Eugene Jacobs’s own home is also a long way from Lakeshore Heights. Renting a place there is a good way to cover his tracks."
Cecilia thought for a moment, a little puzzled. "He’s just a manager in the external affairs department. Even with an annual salary of over a hundred dollars, that’s not enough to support three mistresses, is it? He has his own family and kids, and he’s spending a huge amount of money on other people. How can he possibly afford it?"
Hearing this, Fabian pulled out another stack of documents. "This is his financial income for the last five years. I can’t guarantee this is everything, but he owns some shares in the Lane Group. It’s a tiny percentage, but the annual dividends he gets from them are still a considerable income. On top of that, the man is very skilled at playing the stock market and investing. Offline, he has his own physical businesses like a hot pot restaurant and a coffee shop. Their annual profits are also substantial. He’s a man who really knows how to make money."
Cecilia nodded in understanding. "Is there anything more... private?"
At Cecilia’s question, a knowing smile touched the corners of Fabian’s lips. He leaned forward slightly, lowering his voice. "The man... is into the BDSM scene."
Estelle blinked, completely clueless.
Cecilia’s eyes widened in instant comprehension.
"The BDSM scene? Then he’s..."
"An M!"
Cecilia: !
Fabian sat up straight, a smug little smile on his face.
’He had every right to be smug for digging up something so private.’
Seeing the two of them speaking in code, Estelle was practically spinning with anxiety. "What? What are you talking about? What does that mean?"
Cecilia leaned in and whispered an explanation in her ear. Before she could even finish, Estelle shrieked and pulled away. "Oh my god, stop! Don’t say any more!"
Her face twisted in disgust. "Cheating on his wife is one thing, but this scumbag is cheating with three people at once! And on top of that, he’s into that kind of stuff... Can’t we just crowdfund his demise or something?!"
Cecilia pursed her lips. "Probably not. It’d get stuck at 99% forever!"
Fabian chuckled, then continued, "As far as I know, the first two girls are with him for emotional reasons."
"Eugene doesn’t give them money?" Cecilia asked.
Fabian nodded. "Those two girls are still living in their respective school dorms. Eugene hasn’t rented separate apartments for them. When they meet up for dates, it’s always at hotels. I’ve also printed out the list of hotels they frequent. It’s all in these files."
"But it’s not like he gives them zero money. He has to buy gifts occasionally to keep them happy. Still, compared to Daniels, their treatment is completely different."
"Not only did he rent a luxury apartment for Daniels, but he also gives her over ten dollars a month for living expenses and so on. So, Daniels is likely maintaining this relationship purely for the money."
"Oh, right. Daniels has always wanted to study abroad. After all, she’s in architecture and really yearns to attend one of those famous architecture schools overseas. Logically, with the wealth she’s accumulated from Eugene, she should be able to afford to study abroad on her own dime. The fact that she hasn’t gone yet is probably due to external factors, maybe visa issues or her grades not being good enough."
"Eugene promised Daniels he’d find a way to send her abroad to study. But I also looked into it. In recent years, none of the major foreign universities with architecture programs have received an application from Daniels. In other words, Eugene never helped her apply to any of them."
"What a bastard!" Estelle couldn’t help but spit out. "He just doesn’t want Daniels to leave him, does he?"
Fabian thought so too. "He meets with Daniels the most frequently. From the perspective of his... ’personal hobbies,’ she’s probably the one who best satisfies his needs. That’s why he doesn’t want her to go abroad."
Cecilia sat in her seat, pondering for a moment. Then she looked at Fabian with sincere admiration. "Estelle wasn’t exaggerating. You’re really good. The information you’ve dug up is extremely useful."
’Several ways to completely ruin Eugene Jacobs were already forming in her mind.’
However, that wasn’t all.
Being praised to his face by a beautiful woman made Fabian smile happily, but he spoke slowly. "Don’t be so hasty. The real bombshell hasn’t dropped yet."
As he spoke, he slowly pulled a hard drive from a pocket in his bag and placed it on the table. He looked at Cecilia meaningfully and said, "The exciting stuff is all in here. I copied it from a hidden folder on his computer after hacking into it."
"There’s also a private forum on a server hosted overseas. Eugene uploads the things he records to this forum to share with other members who have the same interests."
The moment Cecilia heard this, her eyes lit up. She quickly asked, "Is his face visible?"
Fabian raised an eyebrow. "The versions he uploads to the forum have his face blurred out. But the ones in the folder are the original, unedited files."
Cecilia reached for the hard drive, but Fabian pressed his hand down on it, smiling at her. "Miss Sterling, this little item costs extra!"
"Why? Didn’t I..."
Estelle started to argue but was stopped by Cecilia. Showing no sign of anger, Cecilia looked at Fabian and replied, "Of course. Something this good should cost extra. Name your price. I won’t haggle!"
Fabian’s smile widened. In his line of work, he loved straightforward clients.
"Thirty!"
Estelle stared at Fabian, her eyes practically bugging out of her head.
But Cecilia nodded crisply. "No problem. Thirty it is. Does it come with after-sales service?"
"What kind of after-sales service did you have in mind, Miss Sterling?"
Cecilia didn’t beat around the bush. "On a day of my choosing, I’ll need you to send one of his ’home movies’—one where his face is clearly visible—to the work email of every single employee at the Lane Group!"
"No problem. You can leave a small task like that to me."
Cecilia promptly settled the full payment with Fabian. After seeing the transaction notification, Fabian smiled in satisfaction. As he was leaving, he didn’t forget to add, "Miss Sterling, if you ever need my help again in the future, don’t hesitate to find me. It would be my pleasure to be of service!"
