"Why don’t you just rob it?"

Gu Lingling was squinting her eyes, resting, when she heard Liu Qiao Lian’s voice from the front.

Mo Hongying noticed she was awake and whispered to her with a smile, "What a rarity, she’s buying oranges from someone but complains they’re too expensive."

Gu Lingling scoffed mockingly.

"I’ve never seen someone like her; it wouldn’t be expensive if she got it," Zhang Lanfang said, unable to hold back.

Everyone laughed.

"I didn’t force you to buy it." The sister-in-law whispered, "You wanted to buy it yourself."

Now she says it’s sold at a high price.

She was simply basing it on the average price; what does she want?

"But Gu Lingling just sold us two for thirty cents, and you’re selling them two for forty cents, isn’t that stealing?" Liu Qiao Lian said.

"Then I won’t sell them." The sister-in-law weakly said, "Return the oranges to me."

"I only have thirty cents here." Liu Qiao Lian shoved the money into her hand, "I’ll take the oranges."

"You... how can you do this?" The new young wife was so upset that her face turned red, saying in a choked voice, "I said I won’t sell them, isn’t that enough?"

But Liu Qiao Lian had already taken the oranges.

She chose this young wife after thinking through whom she couldn’t offend here—then picked the new young wife.

Firstly, she’s new, and any grievances must be endured.

Secondly, her husband holds a low position, so there’s no fear of trouble coming to her own husband.

"Shameless." Fan Cuiling said while eating an orange.

She is the commissar’s niece, and Liu Qiao Lian could only swallow her anger at those words.

That young wife glanced at Liu Qiao Lian and then spoke no more, deciding inwardly to stay away from both of them in the future.

Liu Xiaoqin immediately grabbed an orange when she saw them bought back, peeling a slice into her mouth.

Instantly, the urge to spit earlier had vanished.

Of course, the compartment wasn’t very big, and she naturally heard what happened earlier.

Yet, she remained silent.

Saving a dime is a dime.

Gu Lingling shook her head.

This Liu Qiao Lian was even more annoying than a few years ago.

Together with Liu Xiaoqin, they were clearly the kind who everyone disliked.

Still, they wouldn’t be isolated; after all, this is the army, where many things for army wives are linked with their husbands.

Perhaps that’s why Liu Xiaoqin and Liu Qiao Lian remain so fearless.

By the time the bus reached the base, it was nearly time for dinner, and everyone hurried home with their belongings.

Gu Lingling had a lot to sell, and Fan Cuiling proactively offered help as they disembarked, "I don’t have much, let me help carry some for you."

Gu Lingling thanked her, about to speak when Mo Hongying smiled, nudging her slightly, "Alright, no need to worry about us."

Gu Lingling looked up, seeing Yang Yunhai stepping down from a military jeep.

Her face flushed.

Yang Yunhai was already approaching.

He was good-looking, and used to be so cold that the army wives found him intimidating.

But today, that harshness was absent, and upon seeing Gu Lingling, his expression softened, surprising the army wives.

What were they seeing?

Was Captain Yang smiling just now?

How incredible that they actually got to see Yang Yunhai smile?
