Reborn into the 70: Turning Adversity into Her Dazzling Path
Chapter 1457: Fox Spirit
Chapter 1457: Chapter 1458: Fox Spirit
“Why are you back at this time?” Liu Juanhao said, looking at the car packed full of stuff, “You’ve brought so many things, are you planning to stay here permanently?”
“Yeah, got a twenty-day leave,” Gu Lingling replied with a smile, “I brought some things for you. I kept buying and ended up buying too much.”
“Wasting money again,” Liu Juanhao scolded jokingly.
“Earning money is meant to be spent,” Gu Lingling laughed and said, “How have you been lately? I bought you some maternity milk powder; my mom finds it quite good.”
Liu Juanhao’s belly showed more than Wang Shuyun’s, as she was a month ahead.
“Your brother has arranged milk for me and Miao Miao,” Liu Juanhao said, “Take these back and let your mother-in-law have them.”
“What are you saying, sister-in-law?” Gu Lingling pretended to be upset, “Are you not considering me your sister anymore?”
“You,” Liu Juanhao smiled wryly, “Thank you.”
Gu Lingling had helped them a lot over the past two years, and aside from saying thank you, Liu Juanhao didn’t know what else to say.
“Family shouldn’t be formal,” seeing Liu Juanhao wanting to help with the unpacking, Gu Lingling added, “Just leave these here, and my brother and Yunhai will come to fetch them later.”
The two of them carried the necessary items upstairs.
“Lingling’s here?” They hadn’t walked far before meeting several people, all the sister-in-laws who had been sunbathing earlier, “You must have just arrived without buying groceries; we brought some vegetables from home.”
No wonder everyone had hurried home when they saw Gu Lingling coming.
Turned out they ran back to get things.
“No need, sister-in-laws, we’ve got everything at home,” Liu Juanhao laughed.
“Your home is yours, and what we bring is our sentiment,” Sister-in-law smiled, “Lingling’s rare visit to the troop, we hardly get a chance to meet, so you shouldn’t be competing with us.”
“Exactly, take it; they’re homegrown. Try some,” added one of the sister-in-laws.
“Thanks, sister-in-laws,” Gu Lingling smiled.
The things weren’t much, but as they said, each expressed a sentiment.
Of course, there were those who made snide comments.
“Acting like a fairy descending from heaven, always like this on troop visits, as if scared that others won’t recognize her little deeds.”
In a room upstairs, several people initially sitting were now gathered on the balcony watching below.
The speaker was Liu Qiao Lian, who borrowed fifty cents from Gu Lingling at the post office back then while posting things.
In her arms was her nearly four-year-old son, still sniffling and sucking his thumb.
“Well, she’s Yang Yunhai’s wife now,” Liu Xiaoqin commented sourly while biting an apple on the sofa.
“Pfft, just a vixen after all,” Liu Qiao Lian exclaimed angrily.
The others chimed in to agree.
Liu Xiaoqin felt even better, “Oh, enough talking, if Captain Yang hears this, we’re done for.”
Originally, they lived opposite Yang Yunhai’s place, but now, their family remained in the standard barracks, while Yang Yunhai had moved to the neighboring officer’s building.
Don’t underestimate the difference of a single word; the treatment inside is completely different.
Not only is it bigger than their room, but it also has built-in wardrobes and shoe cabinets, with a stylish kitchen cupboard. The new building looks way better than these old ones.
Yet Jiang Jiuming remained in his position for two years without moving.
Thankfully, while immobile, he still wielded some power, and with his operations over the years, he maintained a reputation within the troop.
That’s why people gravitate towards them.
