Chapter 2474 - 2468: Stay United
Chapter 2474: Chapter 2468: Stay United
When people feel better, their energy naturally improves. That’s why many people said they looked much younger, asking if they ate something to preserve their appearance and if it was expensive.
When Lin Cuiping heard this, she felt a mix of amusement and helplessness. She wanted to say something to them. When their family was poor, no one was as enthusiastic. Now that their situation improved, people started saying such things. No matter how she looked at it, she felt it was intentional. So, she didn’t say much, just smiled and said, "Where would we have money to buy those things? Maybe because we’ve opened up about certain things, our mood is better now."
The villagers thought she was unwilling to share, but it wasn’t that. There really was nothing to tell, so there was no way she could satisfy their curiosity.
Now seeing their current behavior, Lin Cuiping followed her husband’s advice and didn’t say much, to avoid making them uncomfortable, which could lead to trouble.
"Qin Lei’s family really owes a lot to that girl Qin Xue. Who would have thought that such a lazy person would change so much after marriage? If they had known earlier, they would have married her off sooner, and the family wouldn’t have been poor for so many years." Lin Cuiping thought about how tough Qin Lei’s life had been compared to theirs, yet their family was the first to prosper in the village. Now with the policies rolling out, farms would be allocated to households, and life would get even better. But since these were tidbits they heard while doing business in town, and not yet in their village, they decided to keep quiet and wait.
"Don’t let Qin Lei and his wife hear that. They dote on Qin Xue. Even though she is like that, we shouldn’t talk about it. Think about it; our family benefits from the same perks. If I were to go around saying such things, what would that make us?" Qin Chaoyang didn’t want to be seen as ungrateful, so he didn’t allow his wife to talk like that. After all, his brother’s family relied on that niece. If they talked about them, it would hurt his brother’s feelings. Then, if any good business opportunities arose, he wouldn’t be pulled in. So, Qin Chaoyang was not going to make that mistake. His parents would not approve of such actions either.
Their parents didn’t want to see things like that happen. Most importantly, there were only two brothers in this family, and if they didn’t get along, they would be vulnerable. They couldn’t allow that. Instead, they needed to come together during times like these, showing their bond when it was most needed.
Their parents taught them to remain united, not let outsiders look down on them. It was the best time to do so. Even though Qin Chaoyang had his own clever ideas, he would not let anyone bully the Qins. This was the good side of Qin Chaoyang; he could manage his affairs differently, but he wouldn’t let others meddle, because he knew that in times of trouble, the only ones who’d help him would be his family. Others wouldn’t be as kind to him and his family, and there was no need to act like strangers. Why would he behave that way? They were better off having a strong brotherly bond.
In many instances, Qin Chaoyang relied on his brother to get to where he was today, so he didn’t want anyone, not even his wife, saying bad things about their family.
