"I drink this kind of water all year round; it’s already a habit. To me, there’s nothing ’hot’ about it. I’ve been drinking it since I was young, so I’m used to its temperature. For those who aren’t used to it, wait until it cools a bit before drinking, lest you scald your stomach lining." Qin Jiale didn’t know what stomach lining was before, but she learned more about it over time.

It’s because she’s always drunk water at that temperature, her stomach has adapted to it without any harm. But Ye Li hasn’t drunk it before, so it’s better to wait until it cools a bit before drinking. Thinking this, she reached out to dare Ye Li’s cup.

"I just wanted to test the temperature of your water." Ye Li watched her drink, thinking it wouldn’t be as hot as his. Who would have thought it felt even hotter?

"Are you stupid or what? I clearly said I’m used to it, so I don’t feel it, but you’re different. My sister said that, unless it’s special personnel, regular people drinking such hot stuff will harm the stomach lining. Long-term, it can cause cancer. You should stop being so reckless." Qin Jiale reached out to open Ye Li’s mouth and checked. Thankfully, there wasn’t any major issue—possibly because he drank so little, his skin hadn’t peeled yet, but who knows what’ll happen later.
