Chapter 2323: Chapter 2317: Why Are You Standing So Far Away?
"Let me help you." Chu Molin entered the room and saw his wife frowning as she rubbed her legs. He squatted in front of her, helping to massage them.
"You didn’t go out?" Qin Xue hadn’t seen him earlier and thought he’d gone out for something.
"No, I didn’t." Chu Molin didn’t have anything to attend to outside.
"I thought you went to investigate your grandmother’s matters. Turns out you didn’t." Qin Xue genuinely believed that because once he returned home, he had a glass of water, then vanished—she assumed he had gone to handle some business.
"I’m letting Chu Yi handle that." Chu Molin didn’t intend to get involved himself.
"Well, alright then. Are you tired? Come with me into the magical space to rest." Qin Xue suggested to Chu Molin.
"Sure." Chu Molin wasn’t busy at the moment. He had just checked in on the kids in another room; his brother-in-law was with them for their nap, so he didn’t need to do anything, accompanying his wife sounded good.
"Go latch the door, or later when they come in and can’t find us, it’ll be troublesome." Qin Xue instructed Chu Molin to close the door; going missing would cause panic.
"Okay." Chu Molin released her calf, stood up, and latched the door before joining his wife in the magical space.
"You guys are here, by the way, why has that fox been in here for so long and not gone out?" Red Snake appeared before them as soon as Qin Xue and Chu Molin entered. It pointed at Xue Ling in the bamboo house and asked Qin Xue.
"This place originally belongs to it. Is there anything wrong with it staying here?" Qin Xue seemed to be the most confused.
"But wasn’t it not here before? I thought it could always stay outside; who knew it suddenly appeared here and wouldn’t let me get within five meters of it. I truly don’t understand what it’s up to; it’s so mysterious." Red Snake thought it strange because it assumed Xue Ling didn’t need to enter the magical space.
"Is this what you’re curious about?" Qin Xue hadn’t thought much of it until she heard Red Snake’s ’so mysterious.’ She realized what it meant.
"Hehe, don’t say that; I just wanted to know what such a powerful fox is doing." Red Snake was a bit embarrassed when Qin Xue guessed its thoughts.
"Stop it; remember you’re a male. Don’t speak so coyly; look, you’re giving me goosebumps." Qin Xue rubbed her arms, utterly unable to handle it.
Chu Molin watched Qin Xue interact with the snake. He couldn’t understand Red Snake’s words, only hearing its tongue’s hissing in and out.
But he could infer what Red Snake was saying based on his wife’s words. He found this surprising; was Red Snake too clever?
"Master, indeed I am male, but who would know if you didn’t say?" Red Snake thought Qin Xue favored Xue Ling over it because Xue Ling was female. Otherwise, how could a grand Snake King act so feminine? It was quite frustrating.
"The problem is, you’ve told me before, and now my husband knows you’re male too. Don’t you find speaking this way awkward?" Qin Xue pulled Chu Molin to sit on the porch in front of the bamboo house, looking at Red Snake standing far away, reluctant to approach.
"Don’t you think you’d end up unloved this way? Being your pet is really tragic." Red Snake was forced to be her spiritual pet; it wasn’t its choice. Not only was it unloved, but it was also constantly scolded. Was this fair?
"Come closer, why stay so far away?" Qin Xue wondered why Red Snake kept its distance; wasn’t it tiring to chat like that?
