Chapter 2267: Chapter 2261: I’ve Clearly Gained Weight
"Ye Li, isn’t it rather incredible?" Ye Zishu was a bit perplexed. The odds of something like this happening seemed one in a million, yet it had occurred to them.
"It is a bit unexpected." Ye Li hadn’t anticipated it, but he could understand. They all knew each other because of the big brother’s connections, and many of these people were from the sister-in-law’s side, and coincidentally, the sister-in-law was Qin Jiale’s sister, so it made sense when you strung it all together.
"Oh, if only Guan Xiaojun and the others were here, that would be great. They would be so envious of me, having another familial connection with Lele, it’s beautiful just thinking about it." Ye Zishu whispered to Ye Li while eating.
"Childish." Ye Li didn’t want such a connection, but it wasn’t the time for him to say this now. Besides, the relationships of others had little to do with him, as they didn’t share blood ties anyway.
What Ye Li was pondering, no one else knew. Occasionally, there was some chitchat at the table, while others quietly ate. The most surprised person here was Qin Yu. He truly hadn’t expected to come full circle. If he had known, he wouldn’t have let those two leave this morning. It would have been better to return together, as it felt like he had done something unnecessary.
No matter what anyone else thought, overall, it was good for them, so everyone enjoyed a warm meal. In the end, after some discussion, everyone went back to their own homes, as a few of them hadn’t had a good rest since arriving today. They decided to return home and rest first; any other matters could be discussed later.
"Xue’er, go wash up and rest. You’ve had a long enough day." Chu Molin asked his son, knowing what his wife had been doing all day, so he didn’t want her to delay any further and urged her to rest quickly, as her health was important.
"You go ahead, I’ll come later." Qin Xue needed to prepare clothes for the children first.
"I’ll handle the kids, you go wash up, be good." Chu Molin took the clothes from her, knowing that her younger brother and the others had adjusted throughout the day, so they didn’t need to be cared for, but the kids still needed parental care.
"You stubborn man." Qin Xue handed him the clothes and let him manage, as she didn’t have time to waste on him.
"No matter how stubborn, I’m no match for you. You, you’ve worked yourself skinny, not knowing how to take care of yourself." Chu Molin looked at his wife’s noticeably slimmer face with concern. This worrisome woman, he didn’t want to limit her freedom, so he could only nag a bit more.
"Nonsense, I’m definitely fatter. I’ve gained weight around my stomach." Qin Xue refused to believe she was thinner; her belly had clearly grown. She thought of losing weight, but there was too much to handle at the shop to find the time.
"I’ll check later. For now, you go wash up, and I’ll go look in on the kids." Chu Molin took the clothes and closed the door.
"Wishful thinking, am I really fatter or thinner?" Qin Xue touched her face and then her waist, unsure.
Forget it, no need to dwell on it. The priority now is to wash up and then read for a while; she wants Xue Ling to grow up well. She has to work hard and keep going, or else Xue Ling won’t forgive her, and she doesn’t want to be someone who goes back on her word.
So, despite being tired, she must fulfill her promises. In Qin Xue’s heart, as long as one isn’t dead, they must strive hard in life.
For Qin Xue, all things need her to fight for them to be truly substantial.
