Chapter 1997: Chapter 1991: More or Less
"Qin Xue, I didn’t expect your figure to remain unchanged after giving birth. This dress was made to your measurements, and it still fits perfectly now. That’s great." Fang Xiu said while looking at her own belly, which still hadn’t recovered. She was so chubby and wondered if she could ever get back to half of her previous size.
After giving birth to her eldest son, Fang Xiu’s figure had almost recovered, but after having her youngest son, she didn’t feel like there was any change. Her belly was still big, and watching Qin Xue wear beautiful clothes made her a bit envious.
"I’m doing okay. I exercise regularly. You can do it too when you get back. Just do what I used to do, and slowly you’ll find your figure returning. It might not be exactly the same as before childbirth, but you can get back to about seventy or eighty percent. If you stick to a consistent routine, you might even fully recover." Qin Xue thought about how many new moms in later generations practiced yoga and other fitness exercises after childbirth and managed to regain their figure, though they couldn’t get rid of the stretch marks on their belly.
Stretch marks on the belly are caused by the skin and capillaries being stretched and torn when the baby is in the womb. Even after recovery, there is no way to have the same fair and tender skin as before. Sometimes, mothers take a shower and are startled by their stomachs. They might wonder how they had the courage to become pregnant and give birth in the first place.
Qin Xue believed that many women feel this way, but everyone is striving for the continuation of their life, fighting for a legacy. That’s why maternal love appears even more magnificent because it’s truly like coming back from the edge.
"Okay, I will definitely exercise." Fang Xiu replied, thinking about the exercises Qin Xue used to do. As long as she managed her two kids well, she’d have time to work out.
"Mm."
After telling the kids where she was going and instructing them to listen to Xue Ling at home, Qin Xue took Jingtao and walked away with Fang Xiu.
"Sister-in-law, you’ve arrived," Xiao Qi called out to Qin Xue as he waited by the company corner in the morning.
"What are you doing here?" Qin Xue was startled.
"Waiting for you, of course. Or did you plan to walk into the company by yourself?" Xiao Qi asked Qin Xue.
"Of course. My task is to go undercover. If I don’t walk in myself, how will I understand the situation inside your company? When I can’t handle it anymore, then you come and help. For now, let’s not get too close. If others see us together, my cover will be blown." Qin Xue knew that if she walked in with Xiao Qi, everyone would know they were familiar at least, if not acquaintances. Who would reveal their true nature to her then? No one would tell her anything, right?
"Are you sure?" Xiao Qi looked at Qin Xue, wondering what she intended.
Whatever Qin Xue intended, he mustn’t let her suffer any grievances. Otherwise, Chu Molin wouldn’t let him off when they returned.
"I’m sure. You can leave now." Qin Xue tossed out her words and walked off on her own.
Xiao Qi watched Qin Xue leave, paused momentarily, and then left himself. Since Qin Xue had a plan, he would just go along with it.
Xiao Qi walked another path into the company, taking a route slightly closer than the one Qin Xue used.
After Xiao Qi entered the company, Qin Xue’s figure appeared at the company’s entrance.
