Chapter 1964: Chapter 1958: Didn’t Handle It Well
"Xiao Qi came to our house yesterday, asking me to help him find Yingying. Wasn’t I just about to head out to Yingying’s place? You haven’t said why you’re here—aren’t you supposed to be at work right now?" Qin Xue answered Chu Molin’s question.
"Yeah, I just arranged all my work so I could come back and have a look. I’ll go back to work tomorrow morning." Chu Molin came back only after organizing his work. Since he brought Ye Xuan onto his team to help, things have become much easier for him.
Otherwise, if he had come directly, those kids fresh out of school wouldn’t be able to handle his training. Better to let Ye Xuan take over; after all, Ye Xuan is their experienced security chief.
"Aren’t you tired of running back and forth?" Qin Xue felt sorry for him running back under such a big sun—it was exhausting. Spending half a day at home and then having to go to work tomorrow without a car, he’d have to walk such a long way, meaning he’d have to get up before dawn just to make it to the research institute on time.
"Being able to see you and the child, this bit of road is nothing." Chu Molin had walked much longer and harder roads in the past,
yet he never uttered a word of complaint. Now things were much better, so how could he find it hard or tiring? His wife and child were here; coming back was just what he should do.
"Come inside, have you eaten?" Qin Xue looked at the sweaty man; she had eaten out with An Hao, but bought some cake back, intending to drop it off before going to look for Nangong Beiying.
It was such a coincidence that just as she was about to go, Chu Molin returned, so it seemed she’d be delayed before she could go look for someone.
"I’ve eaten. I came back to talk to you about something. Do you have any ideas?" Chu Molin slowly started to speak to Qin Xue.
"What’s the matter? Why so mysterious?" Qin Xue had no idea what this man wanted to talk about, so how would she know what to do?
"It’s about An Hao and Li Zhao. Let’s talk in the room; it’s too noisy outside." Chu Molin saw the children playing in the yard. He didn’t want to disturb them, but he needed to discuss something with his wife, so they had to find a quiet place to talk.
"Alright." Qin Xue understood immediately, as it was someone else’s privacy, so she didn’t have many thoughts about it.
"What happened?" Qin Xue sat in front of the table, looking at Chu Molin beside her.
"They’re getting a divorce. When I came back earlier, I saw Li Zhao and Xiao Qi fighting. They want you to talk to An Hao. Li Zhao explained the reason... She’s at Old Three’s house right now, go and see her." Chu Molin relayed what Li Zhao had told him earlier to Qin Xue.
"The thing I was worried about actually happened. I originally thought that such things wouldn’t occur in these educated families, but it seems I was too naive. The family planning policy has been in place for decades, and only recently eased when I arrived here. Think about how long it takes to have a second child; if An’an’s in-laws really can’t understand, her life would be very tough." Qin Xue had expected some opinions from people of this era, but with policies like this, everyone had to follow them—there was no choice.
"I thought of this too, I just didn’t expect Li Zhao to handle it this way. The reason I’m telling you is because the couple loves each other and they have a child—there’s no need to reach the point of divorce over a second child; it isn’t good for any of them." Chu Molin wished he had a daughter himself, yet they were at this juncture with a daughter.
