’If she had known that taking advantage of Qi Chengliang would leave her speechless in front of Chu Lingxiu, she never would have done it—and she certainly wouldn’t have let Chu Lingxiu find out!’

But hindsight is 20/20, and Gu Shuxin had never imagined the school would put her and Chu Lingxiu in the same dorm room.

"Shuxin, why aren’t you saying anything? Did I say something wrong?"

"N-no, nothing’s wrong."

Gu Shuxin wanted to retort, but she knew that if she did, Chu Lingxiu would surely keep digging until she got to the bottom of it.

And given her current situation, she had no way of properly explaining things to Chu Lingxiu. She might even risk Chu Lingxiu seeing through her act.

’Looks like I’ll have to take this one step at a time.’

"That’s good, then. If there’s nothing else, I’ll head back. My roommates and I had a get-together tonight, and I got a little carried away and ate too much. Shuxin, I’m sure you get along great with your roommates too!"

After speaking, Chu Lingxiu didn’t wait for Gu Shuxin’s reaction and headed toward dorm 304 up ahead. Just before entering, she turned, looked at Gu Shuxin, and gave her a little wave.

Of course, she didn’t miss the look on Gu Shuxin’s face, which was as dark as soot.

’So satisfying! This feeling was like venting all the anger she had bottled up from being deceived and used by Gu Shuxin.’

Seeing Gu Shuxin fuming but unable to say a word, Chu Lingxiu felt a wave of pure satisfaction.

She also understood now. The only reason Gu Shuxin was being so patient with her was that she didn’t realize how much Chu Lingxiu already knew; she was still hoping she could continue to use her.

When Chu Lingxiu entered the dorm room, the other three girls looked over at her. While their expressions weren’t overly worried, they all visibly breathed a sigh of relief upon her return.

"Lingxiu, you’re finally back! Is everything okay?"

Even though it wasn’t that annoying Cao Yuqing who had come, the fact that Gu Shuxin insisted on calling Chu Lingxiu over to talk privately still struck Qi Yunzhi as a little strange.

And she didn’t know why, but even though the person who had just come looking for Chu Lingxiu was good-looking and had a nice demeanor, something about her eyes seemed... off.

But she just couldn’t put her finger on what it was.

"I’m fine, don’t worry about me!"

"Oh, good. As long as you’re okay. Is that girl your friend? Does she go to our school too?"

"Yeah. She’s in the same dorm room as Cao Yuqing now."

"What?"
